NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 Final y, brothers, pray for us that the Lord's message may spread quickly, and be received with honouras it was among you;	1 Finalmente, hermanos, orad por nosotros para que la Palabra del Señor siga propagándose y adquiriendo gloria, como entre vosotros,
2 and pray that we may be preserved from bigoted and evil people, for not everyone has faith.	2 y para que nos veamos libres de los hombres perversos y malignos; porque la fe no es de todos.
3 You can rely on the Lord, who wil give you strength and guard you from the evil One,	3 Fiel es el Señor; él os afianzará y os guardará del Maligno.
4 and we, in the Lord, have every confidence in you, that you are doing and wil go on doing al that wetel you.	4 En cuanto a vosotros tenemos plena confianza en el Señor de que cumplís y cumpliréis cuanto os mandamos.
5 May the Lord turn your hearts towards the love of God and the perseverance of Christ.	5 Que el Señor guíe vuestros corazones hacia el amor de Dios y la tenacidad de Cristo.
6 In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we urge you, brothers, to keep away from any of the brothers wholives an undisciplined life, not in accordance with the tradition you received from us.	6 Hermanos, os mandamos en nombre del Señor Jesucristo que os apartéis de todo hermano que viva desordenadamente y no según la tradición que de nosotros recibisteis.
7 You know how you should take us as your model: we were not undisciplined when we were with you,	7 Ya sabéis vosotros cómo debéis imitarnos, pues estando entre vosotros no vivimos desordenadamente,
8 nor did we ever accept food from anyone without paying for it; no, we worked with unsparing energy,night and day, so as not to be a burden on any of you.	8 ni comimos de balde el pan de nadie, sino que día y noche con fatiga y cansancio trabajamos para no ser una carga a ninguno de vosotros.
9 This was not because we had no right to be, but in order to make ourselves a model for you to imitate.	9 No porque no tengamos derecho, sino por daros en nosotros un modelo que imitar.
10 We urged you when we were with you not to let anyone eat who refused to work.	10 Además, cuando estábamos entre vosotros os mandábamos esto: Si alguno no quiere trabajar, que tampoco coma.
11 Now we hear that there are some of you who are living lives without any discipline, doing no workthemselves but interfering with other people's.	11 Porque nos hemos enterado que hay entre vosotros algunos que viven desordenadamente, sin trabajar nada, pero metiéndose en todo.
12 In the Lord Jesus Christ, we urge and cal on people of this kind to go on quietly working and earningthe food that they eat.	12 A ésos les mandamos y les exhortamos en el Señor Jesucristo a que trabajen con sosiego para comer su propio pan.
13 My brothers, never slacken in doing what is right.	13 Vosotros, hermanos, no os canséis de hacer el bien.
14 If anyone refuses to obey what I have written in this letter, take note of him and have nothing to dowith him, so that he wil be ashamed of himself,	14 Si alguno no obedece a lo que os decimos en esta carta, a ése señaladle y no tratéis con él, para que se avergüence.
15 though you are not to treat him as an enemy, but to correct him as a brother.	15 Pero no lo miréis como a enemigo, sino amonestadle como a hermano.
16 May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at al times and in every way. The Lord be with you all.	16 Que El, el Señor de la paz, os conceda la paz siempre y en todos los órdenes. El Señor sea con todos vosotros.
17 This greeting is in my own hand-PAUL. It is the mark of genuineness in every letter; this is my own writing.	17 El saludo va de mi mano, Pablo. Esta es la firma en todas mis cartas; así escribo.
18 May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.	18 La gracia de nuestro Señor Jesucristo sea con todos vosotros.
