1 Final y, brothers, pray for us that the Lord's message may spread quickly, and be received with honouras it was among you;	1 Del rimanente, fratelli, pregate per noi, affinchè la parola di Dio corra, e sia glorificata, come già tra di voi:
2 and pray that we may be preserved from bigoted and evil people, for not everyone has faith.	2 E affinchè siamo liberati dai protervi, e cattivi uomini: imperocché non è di tutti la fede.
3 You can rely on the Lord, who wil give you strength and guard you from the evil One,	3 Ma fedele è Dio, il quale vi conforterà, e vi difenderà dal maligno.
4 and we, in the Lord, have every confidence in you, that you are doing and wil go on doing al that wetel you.	4 Abbiamo questa fidanza nel Signore rispetto a voi, che quanto vi abbiamo ordinato, e lo fate, e lo farete.
5 May the Lord turn your hearts towards the love of God and the perseverance of Christ.	5 Il Signore poi governi i vostri cuori con la carità di Dio, e con la pazienza di Cristo.
6 In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we urge you, brothers, to keep away from any of the brothers wholives an undisciplined life, not in accordance with the tradition you received from us.	6 Vi facciam poi sapere o fratelli, nel nome del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo, che vi ritiriate da qualunque fratello, che viva, disordinatamente, e non secondo la dottrina, che hanno ricevuta, da noi.
7 You know how you should take us as your model: we were not undisciplined when we were with you,	7 Imperocché voi sapete, come dobbiate imitar noi: imperocché non ci diportammo inordinatamente tra voi:
8 nor did we ever accept food from anyone without paying for it; no, we worked with unsparing energy,night and day, so as not to be a burden on any of you.	8 Nè mangiammo ad ufo il pane di veruno, ma con fatica, e stento, lavorando di, e notte, per non essere di aggravio ad alcuno di voi:
9 This was not because we had no right to be, but in order to make ourselves a model for you to imitate.	9 Non come se non avessimo potuto farlo, ma per darvi noi stessi modello da imitare.
10 We urged you when we were with you not to let anyone eat who refused to work.	10 Imperocché eziandio allorché vi eravamo dappresso, v' intimavamo: che chi non vuol lavorare, non mangi.
11 Now we hear that there are some of you who are living lives without any discipline, doing no workthemselves but interfering with other people's.	11 Imperocché abbiamo udito, che alcuni da voi procedono disordinatamente, i quali non fanno nulla, ma si affaccendano senza pro.
12 In the Lord Jesus Christ, we urge and cal on people of this kind to go on quietly working and earningthe food that they eat.	12 Or a questi tali facciam sapere, gli scongiuriamo nel Signor Gesù Cristo, che lavorando in silenzio, mangino il loro pane.
13 My brothers, never slacken in doing what is right.	13 Ma voi, o fratelli, non vi rallentate nel ben fare.
14 If anyone refuses to obey what I have written in this letter, take note of him and have nothing to dowith him, so that he wil be ashamed of himself,	14 Che se alcuno non ubbidisce a quanto diciamo per lettera, notatelo, e non abbiate commercio con esso, affinchè n' abbia confusione:
15 though you are not to treat him as an enemy, but to correct him as a brother.	15 E nol riguardate come nimico, ma correggetelo come fratello.
16 May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at al times and in every way. The Lord be with you all.	16 E lo stesso Signor della pace dia sempre a voi pace in ogni luogo. Il Signore sia con tutti voi.
17 This greeting is in my own hand-PAUL. It is the mark of genuineness in every letter; this is my own writing.	17 Il saluto (è) di mano di me Paolo: questo è il sigillo in ogni mia lettera: scrivo così.
