1 Corinthians 11

1 Take me as your pattern, just as I take Christ for mine.	1 Sede meus imitadores, como também o sou de Cristo.
2 I congratulate you for remembering me so consistently and for maintaining the traditions exactly as Ipassed them on to you.	2 Eu vos louvo porque em tudo vos lembrais de mim e guardais os meus preceitos, como vo-los ensinei.
3 But I should like you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man,and the head of Christ is God.	3 Porém quero que saibais que Cristo é a cabeça de todo o homem, e o homem a cabeça da mulher, e Deus a cabeça de Cristo (como homem).
4 For any man to pray or to prophesy with his head covered shows disrespect for his head.	4 Todo o homem, que faz oração ou que profetiza com a cabeça coberta, desonra a sua cabeça.
5 And for a woman to pray or prophesy with her head uncovered shows disrespect for her head; it isexactly the same as if she had her hair shaved off.	5 Pelo contrário, toda a mulher, que faz oração ou que profetiza, não tendo coberta a cabeça, desonra a sua cabeça, porque é como se estivesse rapada.
6 Indeed, if a woman does go without a veil, she should have her hair cut off too; but if it is a shamefulthing for a woman to have her hair cut off or shaved off, then she should wear a veil.	6 Portanto, se a mulher se não cobre, corte o cabelo. E, se é vergonhoso para a mulher cortar ou rapar o cabelo, cubra a sua cabeça.
7 But for a man it is not right to have his head covered, since he is the image of God and reflects God'sglory; but woman is the reflection of man's glory.	7 O homem, na verdade, não deve cobrir a sua cabeça, porque é a imagem e a glória de Deus, mas a mulher é a glória do homem.
8 For man did not come from woman; no, woman came from man;	8 De facto, o homem não foi tirado da mulher, mas a mulher do homem.
9 nor was man created for the sake of woman, but woman for the sake of man:	9 E o homem não foi criado por causa da mulher, mas sim a mulher por causa do homem.
10 and this is why it is right for a woman to wear on her head a sign of the authority over her, becauseof the angels.	10 Por isso a mulher deve trazer sobre a cabeça um sinal de submissão, por causa dos anjos.
11 However, in the Lord, though woman is nothing without man, man is nothing without woman;	11 Contudo nem o homem existe sem a mulher, nem a mulher sem o homem, no Senhor.
12 and though woman came from man, so does every man come from a woman, and everything comesfrom God.	12 Porque, se a mulher foi tirada do homem, também o homem é concebido pela mulher, e todas as coisas vêm de Deus.
13 Decide for yourselves: does it seem fitting that a woman should pray to God without a veil?	13 Julgai vós mesmos: é decente que uma mulher faça oração a Deus, com a cabeça descoberta?
14 Does not nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him,	14 E não vos ensina a própria natureza que é desonroso para o homem deixar crescer os cabelos?
15 but when a woman has long hair, it is her glory? After all, her hair was given to her to be a covering.	15 Pelo contrário, é glória para a mulher deixá-los crescer, porque os cabelos foram-lhe dados como véu (para se cobrir).
16 If anyone wants to be contentious, I say that we have no such custom, nor do any of the churches ofGod.	16 Se alguém quiser contestar (o que digo), (fique sabendo que) nós não temos tal costume, nem as Igrejas de Deus.
17 Now that I am on the subject of instructions, I cannot congratulate you on the meetings you hold;they do more harm than good.	17 Fazendo-vos estes avisos, não vos posso louvar pelas vossas reuniões, que redundam em vosso detrimento e não em vosso benefício.
18 In the first place, I hear that when you al come together in your assembly, there are separatefactions among you, and to some extent I believe it.	18 Com efeito, em primeiro lugar, ouço dizer que, quando vos reunis em assembleia, há entre vós divisões, o que, em parte, creio.
19 It is no bad thing, either, that there should be differing groups among you so that those who are to betrusted among you can be clearly recognised.	19 Pois é preciso que até haja divisões, para que os que são de uma virtude provada sejam manifestados entre vós.
20 So, when you meet together, it is not the Lord's Supper that you eat;	20 Quando, portanto, vos reunis, não é já a ceia do Senhor que celebrais,
21 for when the eating begins, each one of you has his own supper first, and there is one going hungrywhile another is getting drunk.	21 porque cada um se antecipa a comer a sua ceia. E um tem fome, enquanto outro está excessivamente saciado.
22 Surely you have homes for doing your eating and drinking in? Or have you such disregard for God'sassembly that you can put to shame those who have nothing? What am I to say to you? Congratulate you? Onthis I cannot congratulate you.	22 Porventura não tendes casas, para lá comer e beber? Ou desprezais a assembleia de Deus e envergonhais aqueles que nada têm? Que vos direi? Louvar-vos-ei? Nisto não vos louvo.
23 For the tradition I received from the Lord and also handed on to you is that on the night he wasbetrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread,	23 Porque eu recebi do Senhor o que vos transmiti: que o Senhor Jesus, na noite em que foi entregue, tomou o pão
24 and after he had given thanks, he broke it, and he said, 'This is my body, which is for you; do this inremembrance of me.'	24 e, dando graças, o partiu e disse: Tomai e comei; isto é o meu corpo, que é (dado) para vós; fazei isto em memória de mim.
25 And in the same way, with the cup after supper, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood.Whenever you drink it, do this as a memorial of me.'	25 Igualmente também, depois de ter ceado, tomou o cálice, dizendo: Este cálice é a nova Aliança no meu sangue; fazei isto em memória de mim, todas as vezes que o beberdes.
26 Whenever you eat this bread, then, and drink this cup, you are proclaiming the Lord's death until hecomes.	26 Todas as vezes que comerdes este pão e beberdes este cálice, anunciareis a morte do Senhor, até que ele venha.
27 Therefore anyone who eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily is answerable for thebody and blood of the Lord.	27 Portanto todo aquele que comer este pão ou beber o cálice do Senhor indignamente, será culpado quanto ao (delito cometido contra o) corpo e sangue do Senhor.
28 Everyone is to examine himself and only then eat of the bread or drink from the cup;	28 Examine-se, pois, a si mesmo cada um, e assim coma deste pão e beba deste cálice,
29 because a person who eats and drinks without recognising the body is eating and drinking his owncondemnation.	29 porque aquele que o come e bebe (indignamente) come e bebe a própria condenação, não distinguindo o corpo do Senhor (doutro qualquer alimento).
30 That is why many of you are weak and il and a good number have died.	30 É por isso que há entre vós muitos enfermos e sem forças, e muitos que estão mortos.
31 If we were critical of ourselves we would not be condemned,	31 Ora, se nos julgássemos a nós mesmos (fazendo penitência), não seriamos com certeza julgados.
32 but when we are judged by the Lord, we are corrected by the Lord to save us from being condemnedalong with the world.	32 Mas, quando somos julgados, somos castigados pelo Senhor, para não sermos condenados com o mundo.
33 So then, my brothers, when you meet for the Meal, wait for each other;	33 Portanto, Irmãos meus, quando vos reunis para comer, esperai uns pelos outros.
34 anyone who is hungry should eat at home. Then your meeting wil not bring your condemnation. Theother matters I shal arrange when I come.	34 Se algum tem fome, coma em casa, a fim de que vos não junteis para vossa condenação. Quanto às outras coisas, eu as ordenarei, quando for (ter convosco).
