1 Take me as your pattern, just as I take Christ for mine.	1 Siate miei imitatori, come io pur di Cristo.
2 I congratulate you for remembering me so consistently and for maintaining the traditions exactly as Ipassed them on to you.	2 Vi do lode però, o fratelli, perchè in ogni cosa vi ricordate di me: e quali ve gli ho dati, ritenete i miei documenti.
3 But I should like you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man,and the head of Christ is God.	3 Or voglio, che voi sappiate, come capo di ogni uomo è Cristo: capo poi della donna è l'uomo: e capo di Cristo è Dio.
4 For any man to pray or to prophesy with his head covered shows disrespect for his head.	4 Ogni uomo, che ora, o profeta col capo coperto, fa disonore al suo capo.
5 And for a woman to pray or prophesy with her head uncovered shows disrespect for her head; it isexactly the same as if she had her hair shaved off.	5 E qualunque donna, che ori, o profetizzi a capo scoperto, fa disonore al suo capo: imperocché è lo stesso, che se fosse rasa.
6 Indeed, if a woman does go without a veil, she should have her hair cut off too; but if it is a shamefulthing for a woman to have her hair cut off or shaved off, then she should wear a veil.	6 Conciossiachè se la donna non porta il velo, si tosi eziandio. Che se è indecente per la donna l'esser tosata, o rasa, veli la sua testa.
7 But for a man it is not right to have his head covered, since he is the image of God and reflects God'sglory; but woman is the reflection of man's glory.	7 L'uomo poi non dee velar la sua testa: perché è immagine, e gloria di Dio, ma la donna è gloria dell'uomo.
8 For man did not come from woman; no, woman came from man;	8 Imperocché non è dalla donna l'uomo, ma dall'uomo la donna.
9 nor was man created for the sake of woman, but woman for the sake of man:	9 Conciossiachè non è stato creato l'uomo per la donna, ma la donna per l'uomo.
10 and this is why it is right for a woman to wear on her head a sign of the authority over her, becauseof the angels.	10 Per questo dee la donna avere sopra il capo la potestà per riguardo degli Angeli.
11 However, in the Lord, though woman is nothing without man, man is nothing without woman;	11 Per altro nè l'uomo senza la Donna, nè la donna senza l'uomo, secondo il Signore.
12 and though woman came from man, so does every man come from a woman, and everything comesfrom God.	12 Imperocché siccome la donna dall'uomo, cosi l'uomo per mezzo della donna: tutto poi da Dio.
13 Decide for yourselves: does it seem fitting that a woman should pray to God without a veil?	13 Siate giudici voi medesimi: è egli decente che la donna faccia orazione a Dio senza velo?
14 Does not nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him,	14 E non v' insegna la stessa natura, che è disonorevol per l'uomo il nudrire la chioma?
15 but when a woman has long hair, it is her glory? After all, her hair was given to her to be a covering.	15 Per la donna poi è onore il nudrire la chioma: imperocché i capelli le sono stati dati per velo?
16 If anyone wants to be contentious, I say that we have no such custom, nor do any of the churches ofGod.	16 Che se taluno mostra di amar le contese: noi non abbiamo tale uso, né la Chiesa di Dio.
17 Now that I am on the subject of instructions, I cannot congratulate you on the meetings you hold;they do more harm than good.	17 Di questo poi vi avverto: non per lodarvi, che vi radunate non con profitto, ma con iscapito.
18 In the first place, I hear that when you al come together in your assembly, there are separatefactions among you, and to some extent I believe it.	18 Primamente adunque adunandovi voi nella Chiesa, sento esservi scissure tra di voi, e in parte lo credo.
19 It is no bad thing, either, that there should be differing groups among you so that those who are to betrusted among you can be clearly recognised.	19 Imperocché fa di mestieri, che sianvi anche delle eresie, affinchè si palesino que', che tra voi sono di buona lega.
20 So, when you meet together, it is not the Lord's Supper that you eat;	20 Quando adunque vi radunate insieme, non è già un mangiare la cena del Signore.
21 for when the eating begins, each one of you has his own supper first, and there is one going hungrywhile another is getting drunk.	21 Imperocché ciascheduno anticipamente prende a mangiar la sua cena. E uno patisce la fame, un altro poi è ubbriaco.
22 Surely you have homes for doing your eating and drinking in? Or have you such disregard for God'sassembly that you can put to shame those who have nothing? What am I to say to you? Congratulate you? Onthis I cannot congratulate you.	22 Ma e non avete voi case per mangiare, e bere? Ovvero dispregiate la Chiesa di Dio, e fate arrossire quegli, che non han nulla? Che dirovvi? Vi loderò? In questo io non vi lodo.
23 For the tradition I received from the Lord and also handed on to you is that on the night he wasbetrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread,	23 Imperocché io ho appreso dal Signore quello, che ho anche insegnato a voi, che il Signore Gesù in quella notte, in cui era tradito, prese il pane,
24 and after he had given thanks, he broke it, and he said, 'This is my body, which is for you; do this inremembrance of me.'	24 E rendute le grazie, lo spezzò, e disse: prendete, e mangiate: questo è il corpo mio, il quale sarà dato (a morte) per voi: fate questo in memoria di me.
25 And in the same way, with the cup after supper, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood.Whenever you drink it, do this as a memorial of me.'	25 Similmente anche il calice, dopo di aver cenato, dicendo: questo calice è il nuovo testamento nel sangue mio: fate questo tutte le volte, che lo berete, in memoria di me.
26 Whenever you eat this bread, then, and drink this cup, you are proclaiming the Lord's death until hecomes.	26 Imperocché ogni volta, che mangerete questo pane, e berete questo calice: annuncerete la morte del Signore per fino a tanto che egli venga.
27 Therefore anyone who eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily is answerable for thebody and blood of the Lord.	27 Per la qual cosa chiunque mangerà questo pane, o berà il calice del Signore indegnamente: sarà reo del corpo, e del sangue del Signore.
28 Everyone is to examine himself and only then eat of the bread or drink from the cup;	28 Provi perciò l'uomo se stesso: e cosi mangi di quel pane, e beva di quel calice.
29 because a person who eats and drinks without recognising the body is eating and drinking his owncondemnation.	29 Imperocché chi mangia, e beve indegnamente, si mangia, e beve la condannazione: non distinguendo il corpo del Signore.
30 That is why many of you are weak and il and a good number have died.	30 Per questo molti tra voi sono infermi, e senza forze, e molti dormono.
31 If we were critical of ourselves we would not be condemned,	31 Imperocché se ci giudicassimo da noi stessi, non saremmo certamente giudicati.
32 but when we are judged by the Lord, we are corrected by the Lord to save us from being condemnedalong with the world.	32 Ma quando siam giudicati, siamo gastigati dal Signore, affinché non siamo condannati con questo mondo.
33 So then, my brothers, when you meet for the Meal, wait for each other;	33 Per la qual cosa, fratelli miei, allorché vi radunate per mangiare, aspettatevi gli uni gli altri.
34 anyone who is hungry should eat at home. Then your meeting wil not bring your condemnation. Theother matters I shal arrange when I come.	34 Se uno ha fame, mangi a casa: onde non vi raduniate per essere condannati. Alle altre cose poi, tenuto che io sia, darò ordine.
