1 Corinthians 11

NEW JERUSALEM	KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA
1 Take me as your pattern, just as I take Christ for mine.	1 Kövessétek példámat, ahogy én Krisztus példáját követem!.
2 I congratulate you for remembering me so consistently and for maintaining the traditions exactly as Ipassed them on to you.	2 Dicsérlek titeket, hogy mindenben megemlékeztek rólam, és megtartjátok a hagyományokat, úgy, ahogy átadtam nektek.
3 But I should like you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man,and the head of Christ is God.	3 Szeretném azonban, ha tudnátok, hogy minden férfinek feje Krisztus, az asszonynak a feje a férfi, Krisztus feje pedig az Isten.
4 For any man to pray or to prophesy with his head covered shows disrespect for his head.	4 Minden férfi, aki fedett fővel imádkozik vagy prófétál, szégyent hoz a fejére;
5 And for a woman to pray or prophesy with her head uncovered shows disrespect for her head; it isexactly the same as if she had her hair shaved off.	5 viszont minden asszony, aki fedetlen fővel imádkozik vagy prófétál, szégyent hoz a fejére: mert ez ugyanaz, mintha megnyírták volna.
6 Indeed, if a woman does go without a veil, she should have her hair cut off too; but if it is a shamefulthing for a woman to have her hair cut off or shaved off, then she should wear a veil.	6 Ha az asszony nem fedi be a fejét, vágassa le a haját; ha viszont szégyenletes dolog az asszonynak, hogy a haját levágassa vagy leborotváltassa, fedje csak be fejét.
7 But for a man it is not right to have his head covered, since he is the image of God and reflects God'sglory; but woman is the reflection of man's glory.	7 A férfinak nem kell befednie fejét, mert ő Isten képmása és dicsősége, az asszony azonban a férfi dicsősége.
8 For man did not come from woman; no, woman came from man;	8 Mert nem a férfi van az asszonyból, hanem az asszony a férfiból ;
9 nor was man created for the sake of woman, but woman for the sake of man:	9 és nem a férfit teremtették az asszonyért, hanem az asszonyt a férfiért.
10 and this is why it is right for a woman to wear on her head a sign of the authority over her, becauseof the angels.	10 Ezért az asszonynak viselnie kell a fején az alárendeltség jelét az angyalok miatt.
11 However, in the Lord, though woman is nothing without man, man is nothing without woman;	11 Igaz azonban, hogy az Úrban sem asszony nincs férfi nélkül, sem férfi asszony nélkül.
12 and though woman came from man, so does every man come from a woman, and everything comesfrom God.	12 Mert amint az asszony a férfiból lett, úgy a férfi is az asszony által születik – és minden Istentől.
13 Decide for yourselves: does it seem fitting that a woman should pray to God without a veil?	13 Ítéljétek meg ti magatok: illik-e asszonynak fedetlen fővel imádkozni Istenhez?
14 Does not nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him,	14 Nem tanít-e titeket maga a természet is arra, hogy ha a férfi hosszú hajat növeszt, szégyenére válik,
15 but when a woman has long hair, it is her glory? After all, her hair was given to her to be a covering.	15 ha pedig az asszony növeszt hosszú hajat, dicsőségére szolgál? Mert a haj fátyol gyanánt adatott neki.
16 If anyone wants to be contentious, I say that we have no such custom, nor do any of the churches ofGod.	16 Ha pedig valaki erről tovább akar vitatkozni, tudja meg, hogy sem nálunk, sem Isten egyházainál nincs ilyen szokás.
17 Now that I am on the subject of instructions, I cannot congratulate you on the meetings you hold;they do more harm than good.	17 Ez a parancsom, s emellett nem dicsérhetem, hogy nem javatokra, hanem károtokra gyűltök össze.
18 In the first place, I hear that when you al come together in your assembly, there are separatefactions among you, and to some extent I believe it.	18 Mert először is úgy hallom, hogy amikor közösségbe gyűltök, szakadások vannak köztetek, és ezt részben el is hiszem.
19 It is no bad thing, either, that there should be differing groups among you so that those who are to betrusted among you can be clearly recognised.	19 Mert szükséges, hogy megosztottság is legyen köztetek, hogy azok, akit a próbát kiállják, nyilvánvalókká legyenek.
20 So, when you meet together, it is not the Lord's Supper that you eat;	20 Mikor tehát egybegyűltök, az már nem az Úr vacsorájának elköltése,
21 for when the eating begins, each one of you has his own supper first, and there is one going hungrywhile another is getting drunk.	21 mert étkezés közben mindenki a saját vacsoráját veszi elő, és az egyik éhezik, a másik pedig dőzsöl.
22 Surely you have homes for doing your eating and drinking in? Or have you such disregard for God'sassembly that you can put to shame those who have nothing? What am I to say to you? Congratulate you? Onthis I cannot congratulate you.	22 Vajon nincsen házatok az evésre és ivásra? Vagy megvetitek Isten egyházát, és megszégyenítitek azokat, akiknek semmijük nincsen? Mit mondjak nektek? Dicsérjelek titeket? Ebben nem dicsérlek!
23 For the tradition I received from the Lord and also handed on to you is that on the night he wasbetrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread,	23 Mert az Úrtól kaptam, amit átadtam nektek, hogy az Úr Jézus azon az éjszakán, amelyen elárulták, fogta a kenyeret,
24 and after he had given thanks, he broke it, and he said, 'This is my body, which is for you; do this inremembrance of me.'	24 hálát adott, megtörte, és így szólt: »Ez az én testem, amely értetek van. Ezt tegyétek az én emlékezetemre!«
25 And in the same way, with the cup after supper, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood.Whenever you drink it, do this as a memorial of me.'	25 A vacsora után ugyanígy fogta a kelyhet is, és így szólt: »Ez a kehely az új szövetség az én véremben. Tegyétek ezt, ahányszor csak isszátok, az én emlékezetemre!«
26 Whenever you eat this bread, then, and drink this cup, you are proclaiming the Lord's death until hecomes.	26 Mert amikor ezt a kenyeret eszitek, és ezt a kelyhet isszátok, az Úr halálát hirdetitek, amíg el nem jön.
27 Therefore anyone who eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily is answerable for thebody and blood of the Lord.	27 Aki tehát méltatlanul eszi a kenyeret, vagy issza az Úr kelyhét, vétkezik az Úr teste és vére ellen.
28 Everyone is to examine himself and only then eat of the bread or drink from the cup;	28 Vizsgálja meg tehát az ember önmagát, és úgy egyék e kenyérből és igyék a kehelyből,
29 because a person who eats and drinks without recognising the body is eating and drinking his owncondemnation.	29 mert aki úgy eszik és iszik, hogy nem különbözteti meg a testet, saját ítéletét eszi és issza.
30 That is why many of you are weak and il and a good number have died.	30 Ezért van köztetek sok beteg és gyengélkedő, és sokan meghaltak.
31 If we were critical of ourselves we would not be condemned,	31 Ha ellenben megítélnénk önmagunkat, nem esnénk ítélet alá.
32 but when we are judged by the Lord, we are corrected by the Lord to save us from being condemnedalong with the world.	32 Amikor pedig ítélet alá esünk, az Úr fenyít meg minket, hogy ne kárhozzunk el ezzel a világgal.
33 So then, my brothers, when you meet for the Meal, wait for each other;	33 Ezért, testvéreim, amikor egybegyűltök az étkezésre, várjátok meg egymást.
34 anyone who is hungry should eat at home. Then your meeting wil not bring your condemnation. Theother matters I shal arrange when I come.	34 Ha valaki éhes, egyen odahaza, hogy ne ítéletre gyűljetek össze. A többit pedig majd akkor rendezem el, ha odamegyek.
