NEW JERUSALEMRevised Standard Version Catholic Edition
Come, let us cry out with joy to Yahweh, acclaim the rock of our salvation.1 O come, let us sing to the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving, acclaim him with music.2 Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
For Yahweh is a great God, a king greater than al the gods.3 For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
In his power are the depths of the earth, the peaks of the mountains are his;4 In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also.
the sea belongs to him, for he made it, and the dry land, moulded by his hands.5 The sea is his, for he made it; for his hands formed the dry land.
Come, let us bow low and do reverence; kneel before Yahweh who made us!6 O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker!
For he is our God, and we the people of his sheepfold, the flock of his hand. If only you would listen tohim today!7 For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. O that today you would hearken to his voice!
Do not harden your hearts as at Meribah, as at the time of Massah in the desert,8 Harden not your hearts, as at Meribah, as on the day at Massah in the wilderness,
when your ancestors chal enged me, put me to the test, and saw what I could do!9 when your fathers tested me, and put me to the proof, though they had seen my work.
For forty years that generation sickened me, and I said, 'Always fickle hearts; they cannot grasp myways.'10 For forty years I loathed that generation and said, "They are a people who err in heart, and they do not regard my ways."
Then in my anger I swore they would never enter my place of rest.11 Therefore I swore in my anger that they should not enter my rest.
