1 [Psalm Of Asaph] Indeed God is good to Israel, the Lord to those who are pure of heart.	1 Salmo di Asaf CERTAMENTE Iddio è buono ad Israele, A quelli che son puri di cuore.
2 My feet were on the point of stumbling, a little more and I had slipped,	2 Ora, quant’è a me, quasi che incapparono i miei piedi; Come nulla mancò che i miei passi non isdrucciolassero.
3 envying the arrogant as I did, and seeing the prosperity of the wicked.	3 Perciocchè io portava invidia agl’insensati, Veggendo la prosperità degli empi.
4 For them no such thing as pain, untroubled, their comfortable portliness;	4 Perciocchè non vi sono alcuni legami alla lor morte; E la lor forza è prosperosa.
5 exempt from the cares which are the human lot, they have no part in Adam's afflictions.	5 Quando gli altri uomini sono in travagli, essi non vi son punto; E non ricevono battiture col rimanente degli uomini.
6 So pride is a necklace to them, violence the garment they wear.	6 Perciò, la superbia li cinge a guisa di collana; La violenza li involge come un vestimento.
7 From their fat oozes out malice, their hearts drip with cunning.	7 Gli occhi escono loro fuori per lo grasso; Avanzano le immaginazioni del cuor loro.
8 Cynical y they advocate evil, loftily they advocate force.	8 Son dissoluti, e per malizia ragionano di oppressare; Parlano da alto.
9 Their mouth claims heaven for themselves, and their tongue is never stil on earth.	9 Mettono la lor bocca dentro al cielo, E la lor lingua passeggia per la terra.
10 That is why my people turn to them, and enjoy the waters of plenty,	10 Perciò, il popolo di Dio riviene a questo, Veggendo che l’acqua gli è spremuta a bere a pien calice,
11 saying, 'How can God know? What knowledge can the Most High have?'	11 E dice: Come può essere che Iddio sappia ogni cosa, E che vi sia conoscimento nell’Altissimo?
12 That is what the wicked are like, piling up wealth without any worries.	12 Ecco, costoro son empi, e pur godono pace e tranquillità in perpetuo; Ed accrescono le lor facoltà.
13 Was it useless, then, to have kept my own heart clean, to have washed my hands in innocence?	13 Indarno adunque in vero ho nettato il mio cuore, Ed ho lavate le mie mani nell’innocenza.
14 When I was under a hail of blows al day long, and punished every morning,	14 Poichè son battuto tuttodì, Ed ogni mattina il mio gastigamento si rinnuova
15 had I said, 'I shal talk like them,' I should have betrayed your children's race.	15 Se io dico: Io ragionerò così; Ecco, io son disleale inverso la generazione de’ tuoi figliuoli.
16 So I set myself to understand this: how difficult I found it!	16 Io ho adunque pensato di volere intender questo; Ma la cosa mi è parsa molto molesta.
17 Until I went into the sanctuaries of the gods and understood what was destined to become of them.	17 Infino a tanto che sono entrato ne’ santuari di Dio; Ed ho considerato il fine di coloro.
18 You place them on a slippery slope and drive them down into chaos.	18 Certo, tu li metti in isdruccioli; Tu li trabocchi in ruine.
19 How sudden their hideous destruction! They are swept away, annihilated by terror!	19 Come sono eglino stati distrutti in un momento! Come son venuti meno, e sono stati consumati per casi spaventevoli!
20 Like a dream upon waking, Lord, when you awake, you dismiss their image.	20 Son come un sogno, dopo che l’uomo si è destato; O Signore, quando tu ti risveglierai, tu sprezzerai la lor vana apparenza
21 My heart grew embittered, my affections dried up,	21 Quando il mio cuore era inacerbito, Ed io era punto nelle reni;
22 I was stupid and uncomprehending, a clumsy animal in your presence.	22 Io era insensato, e non aveva conoscimento; Io era inverso te simile alle bestie.
23 Even so, I stayed in your presence, you grasped me by the right hand;	23 Ma pure io sono stato del continuo teco; Tu mi hai preso per la man destra.
24 you will guide me with advice, and wil draw me in the wake of your glory.	24 Tu mi condurrai per lo tuo consiglio, E poi mi riceverai in gloria;
25 Who else is there for me in heaven? And, with you, I lack nothing on earth.	25 Chi è per me in cielo, fuor che te? Io non voglio altri che te in terra.
26 My heart and my flesh are pining away: my heart's rock, my portion, God for ever!	26 La mia carne ed il mio cuore erano venuti meno: Ma Iddio è la rocca del mio cuore, e la mia parte in eterno.
27 Truly, those who abandon you will perish; you destroy those who adulterously desert you,	27 Perciocchè, ecco, quelli che si allontanano da te periranno; Tu distruggerai ogni uomo che fornicando si svia da te.
28 whereas my happiness is to be near God. I have made the Lord Yahweh my refuge, to tel of al yourworks.	28 Ma quant’è a me, egli mi è buono di accostarmi a Dio; Io ho posta nel Signore Iddio la mia confidanza, Per raccontar tutte le opere sue
