1 [Psalm Of Asaph] Indeed God is good to Israel, the Lord to those who are pure of heart.	1 Salmo. Di Asaf.Quanto è buono Dio con gli uomini retti,Dio con i puri di cuore!
2 My feet were on the point of stumbling, a little more and I had slipped,	2 Ma io per poco non inciampavo,quasi vacillavano i miei passi,
3 envying the arrogant as I did, and seeing the prosperity of the wicked.	3 perché ho invidiato i prepotenti,vedendo il successo dei malvagi.
4 For them no such thing as pain, untroubled, their comfortable portliness;	4 Fino alla morte infatti non hanno sofferenzee ben pasciuto è il loro ventre.
5 exempt from the cares which are the human lot, they have no part in Adam's afflictions.	5 Non si trovano mai nell’affanno dei mortalie non sono colpiti come gli altri uomini.
6 So pride is a necklace to them, violence the garment they wear.	6 Dell’orgoglio si fanno una collanae indossano come abito la violenza.
7 From their fat oozes out malice, their hearts drip with cunning.	7 I loro occhi sporgono dal grasso,dal loro cuore escono follie.
8 Cynical y they advocate evil, loftily they advocate force.	8 Scherniscono e parlano con malizia,parlano dall’alto con prepotenza.
9 Their mouth claims heaven for themselves, and their tongue is never stil on earth.	9 Aprono la loro bocca fino al cieloe la loro lingua percorre la terra.
10 That is why my people turn to them, and enjoy the waters of plenty,	10 Perciò il loro popolo li seguee beve la loro acqua in abbondanza.
11 saying, 'How can God know? What knowledge can the Most High have?'	11 E dicono: «Dio, come può saperlo?L’Altissimo, come può conoscerlo?».
12 That is what the wicked are like, piling up wealth without any worries.	12 Ecco, così sono i malvagi:sempre al sicuro, ammassano ricchezze.
13 Was it useless, then, to have kept my own heart clean, to have washed my hands in innocence?	13 Invano dunque ho conservato puro il mio cuore,e ho lavato nell’innocenza le mie mani!
14 When I was under a hail of blows al day long, and punished every morning,	14 Perché sono colpito tutto il giornoe fin dal mattino sono castigato?
15 had I said, 'I shal talk like them,' I should have betrayed your children's race.	15 Se avessi detto: «Parlerò come loro»,avrei tradito la generazione dei tuoi figli.
16 So I set myself to understand this: how difficult I found it!	16 Riflettevo per comprendere questoma fu una fatica ai miei occhi,
17 Until I went into the sanctuaries of the gods and understood what was destined to become of them.	17 finché non entrai nel santuario di Dioe compresi quale sarà la loro fine.
18 You place them on a slippery slope and drive them down into chaos.	18 Ecco, li poni in luoghi scivolosi,li fai cadere in rovina.
19 How sudden their hideous destruction! They are swept away, annihilated by terror!	19 Sono distrutti in un istante!Sono finiti, consumati dai terrori!
20 Like a dream upon waking, Lord, when you awake, you dismiss their image.	20 Come un sogno al risveglio, Signore,così, quando sorgi, fai svanire la loro immagine.
21 My heart grew embittered, my affections dried up,	21 Quando era amareggiato il mio cuoree i miei reni trafitti dal dolore,
22 I was stupid and uncomprehending, a clumsy animal in your presence.	22 io ero insensato e non capivo,stavo davanti a te come una bestia.
23 Even so, I stayed in your presence, you grasped me by the right hand;	23 Ma io sono sempre con te:tu mi hai preso per la mano destra.
24 you will guide me with advice, and wil draw me in the wake of your glory.	24 Mi guiderai secondo i tuoi disegnie poi mi accoglierai nella gloria.
25 Who else is there for me in heaven? And, with you, I lack nothing on earth.	25 Chi avrò per me nel cielo?Con te non desidero nulla sulla terra.
26 My heart and my flesh are pining away: my heart's rock, my portion, God for ever!	26 Vengono meno la mia carne e il mio cuore;ma Dio è roccia del mio cuore,mia parte per sempre.
27 Truly, those who abandon you will perish; you destroy those who adulterously desert you,	27 Ecco, si perderà chi da te si allontana;tu distruggi chiunque ti è infedele.
28 whereas my happiness is to be near God. I have made the Lord Yahweh my refuge, to tel of al yourworks.	28 Per me, il mio bene è stare vicino a Dio;nel Signore Dio ho posto il mio rifugio,per narrare tutte le tue opere.
