Psalms 73

1 [Psalm Of Asaph] Indeed God is good to Israel, the Lord to those who are pure of heart.	1 - Ode di Asaf. Perchè, o Dio, [ci] hai rigettato per sempre?[perchè] divampa il tuo furore contro le pecorelle del tuo pascolo?
2 My feet were on the point of stumbling, a little more and I had slipped,	2 Ricordati del popol tuo, che t'acquistasti da principio, [e] riscattasti [per farne] la tribù della tua eredità, [ricordati del] monte Sion, sul quale tu hai posto la tua sede!
3 envying the arrogant as I did, and seeing the prosperity of the wicked.	3 Alza le tue mani sulle superbie loro per sempre: quanti danni ha fatto il nemico nel santuario!
4 For them no such thing as pain, untroubled, their comfortable portliness;	4 Si son gloriati i tuoi odiatori in mezzo [al luogo] della tua solennità, v'han posto ad insegna le loro insegne
5 exempt from the cares which are the human lot, they have no part in Adam's afflictions.	5 - stolti che furono! - proprio all' ingresso, su in alto. Quasi [fossero] in una selva d'alberi, con le scuri
6 So pride is a necklace to them, violence the garment they wear.	6 han spezzato le sue porte a un tempo, con la scure e l'ascia [le] hanno abbattute!
7 From their fat oozes out malice, their hearts drip with cunning.	7 Han messo a fuoco il tuo santuario, han profanato e atterrato il tabernacolo del tuo nome!
8 Cynical y they advocate evil, loftily they advocate force.	8 Han detto in cuor loro tutta la loro schiatta:«Sopprimiamo tutte le feste di Dio di sulla terra!».
9 Their mouth claims heaven for themselves, and their tongue is never stil on earth.	9 Le nostre insegne non le vediamo [più], non c'è più un profeta, nè c'è alcuno tra noi che sappia sino a quando [tutto ciò avrà a durare].
10 That is why my people turn to them, and enjoy the waters of plenty,	10 Sino a quando, o Dio, bestemmierà il nemico, [e] l'avversario schernirà sempre il tuo nome?
11 saying, 'How can God know? What knowledge can the Most High have?'	11 Perchè allontani la tua mano, e la tua destra [non trai fuori] dal tuo seno mai?
12 That is what the wicked are like, piling up wealth without any worries.	12 Ma Dio è il nostro re da' secoli antichi, ha fatto [prodigi di] salvezza in mezzo alla terra!
13 Was it useless, then, to have kept my own heart clean, to have washed my hands in innocence?	13 Tu rassodasti con la tua potenza il mare, tu stritolasti il capo de' draghi nelle acque.
14 When I was under a hail of blows al day long, and punished every morning,	14 Tu spezzasti la testa del drago [marino] e la desti in pasto alle bestie del deserto.
15 had I said, 'I shal talk like them,' I should have betrayed your children's race.	15 Tu facesti scaturire le fonti e i torrenti, tu seccasti i fiumi perenni.
16 So I set myself to understand this: how difficult I found it!	16 Tuo è il giorno e tua è la notte, tu hai creato la luna e il sole.
17 Until I went into the sanctuaries of the gods and understood what was destined to become of them.	17 Tu hai fissato tutti i confini della terra; l'estate e l' inverno tu gli hai formati.
18 You place them on a slippery slope and drive them down into chaos.	18 Ricordati di questo: il nemico ha bestemmiato il Signore, e un popolo stolto ha schernito il tuo nome!
19 How sudden their hideous destruction! They are swept away, annihilated by terror!	19 Non abbandonare alle belve le anime a te fedeli, e le anime de' tuoi miseri non dimenticar per sempre.
20 Like a dream upon waking, Lord, when you awake, you dismiss their image.	20 Riguarda al tuo patto! Perchè gli [angoli più] oscuri della terra son pieni di covi di iniquità.
21 My heart grew embittered, my affections dried up,	21 L'oppresso non se ne torni via confuso!il misero e il bisognoso lodino il tuo nome!
22 I was stupid and uncomprehending, a clumsy animal in your presence.	22 Sorgi, o Dio, sostieni la tua causa, ricorda gli oltraggi che ti si fan dallo stolto tutto il dì.
23 Even so, I stayed in your presence, you grasped me by the right hand;	23 Non dimenticar le grida de' tuoi nemici, la superbia di quei che t'odiano cresce sempre!
24 you will guide me with advice, and wil draw me in the wake of your glory.
25 Who else is there for me in heaven? And, with you, I lack nothing on earth.
26 My heart and my flesh are pining away: my heart's rock, my portion, God for ever!
27 Truly, those who abandon you will perish; you destroy those who adulterously desert you,
28 whereas my happiness is to be near God. I have made the Lord Yahweh my refuge, to tel of al yourworks.
