Psalms 73

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 [Psalm Of Asaph] Indeed God is good to Israel, the Lord to those who are pure of heart.	1 Salmo de Asaf. ¡Qué bueno es Dios para Israel, para los limpios de corazón!
2 My feet were on the point of stumbling, a little more and I had slipped,	2 Pero casi se desvían mis pasos, faltó poco para que diera un traspié,
3 envying the arrogant as I did, and seeing the prosperity of the wicked.	3 porque tuve envidia de los presuntuosos, al ver la prosperidad de los malvados.
4 For them no such thing as pain, untroubled, their comfortable portliness;	4 Para ellos no hay sufrimientos, su cuerpo está sano y robusto;
5 exempt from the cares which are the human lot, they have no part in Adam's afflictions.	5 no comparten las penas de los hombres ni son golpeados como los demás.
6 So pride is a necklace to them, violence the garment they wear.	6 Por eso, el orgullo es su collar y la violencia, el manto que los cubre;
7 From their fat oozes out malice, their hearts drip with cunning.	7 la malicia se les sale por los poros, su corazón rebosa de malos propósitos.
8 Cynical y they advocate evil, loftily they advocate force.	8 Se burlan y hablan con maldad; desde lo alto, amenazan con prepotencia;
9 Their mouth claims heaven for themselves, and their tongue is never stil on earth.	9 su boca se insolenta contra el cielo y su lengua se pasea por la tierra.
10 That is why my people turn to them, and enjoy the waters of plenty,	10 Por eso, el pueblo de Dios se vuelve hacia ellos, y beben el agua a raudales.
11 saying, 'How can God know? What knowledge can the Most High have?'	11 Ellos dicen: «¿Acaso Dios lo va a saber? ¿Se va a enterar el Altísimo?»
12 That is what the wicked are like, piling up wealth without any worries.	12 Así son esos malvados y, siempre tranquilos, acrecientan sus riquezas.
13 Was it useless, then, to have kept my own heart clean, to have washed my hands in innocence?	13 Entonces, ¿en vano mantuve puro mi corazón y lavé mis manos en señal de inocencia?
14 When I was under a hail of blows al day long, and punished every morning,	14 Porque yo era golpeado todo el día y cada mañana soportaba mi castigo.
15 had I said, 'I shal talk like them,' I should have betrayed your children's race.	15 Si hubiera dicho: «Voy a hablar como ellos», habría traicionado al linaje de tus hijos.
16 So I set myself to understand this: how difficult I found it!	16 Yo reflexionaba, tratando de entenderlo, pero me resultaba demasiado difícil.
17 Until I went into the sanctuaries of the gods and understood what was destined to become of them.	17 ¡Hasta que entré en el Santuario de Dios y comprendí el fin que les espera!
18 You place them on a slippery slope and drive them down into chaos.	18 Sí, tú los pones en un terreno resbaladizo y los precipitas en la ruina.
19 How sudden their hideous destruction! They are swept away, annihilated by terror!	19 ¡Qué pronto quedan devastados y acaban consumidos por el horror!
20 Like a dream upon waking, Lord, when you awake, you dismiss their image.	20 Son como un sueño al despertar, Señor; al levantarte, disipas hasta su imagen.
21 My heart grew embittered, my affections dried up,	21 Cuando se agriaba mi corazón y me torturaba en mi interior,
22 I was stupid and uncomprehending, a clumsy animal in your presence.	22 yo era un necio y no comprendía, era como un animal ante ti.
23 Even so, I stayed in your presence, you grasped me by the right hand;	23 Pero yo estoy siempre contigo, tú me has tomado de la mano derecha;
24 you will guide me with advice, and wil draw me in the wake of your glory.	24 me guiarás con tu consejo y después, me recibirás con gloria.
25 Who else is there for me in heaven? And, with you, I lack nothing on earth.	25 ¿A quién sino a ti tengo yo en el cielo? Si estoy contigo, no deseo nada en la tierra.
26 My heart and my flesh are pining away: my heart's rock, my portion, God for ever!	26 Aunque mi corazón y mi carne se consuman, Dios es mi herencia para siempre y la Roca de mi corazón.
27 Truly, those who abandon you will perish; you destroy those who adulterously desert you,	27 Los que se apartan de ti terminan mal, tú destruyes a los que te son infieles.
28 whereas my happiness is to be near God. I have made the Lord Yahweh my refuge, to tel of al yourworks.	28 Mi dicha es estar cerca de Dios: yo he puesto mi refugio en ti, Señor, para proclamar todas tus acciones.
