NEW JERUSALEMNOVA VULGATA
1 [Of Solomon] God, endow the king with your own fair judgement, the son of the king with your ownsaving justice,1 Salomonis.
Deus, iudicium tuum regi da
et iustitiam tuam filio regis;
2 that he may rule your people with justice, and your poor with fair judgement.2 iudicet populum tuum in iustitia
et pauperes tuos in iudicio.
3 Mountains and hil s, bring peace to the people! With justice3 Afferant montes pacem populo,
et colles iustitiam.
4 he wil judge the poor of the people, he wil save the children of the needy and crush their oppressors.4 Iudicabit pauperes populi
et salvos faciet filios inopis
et humiliabit calumniatorem.
5 In the sight of the sun and the moon he wil endure, age after age.5 Et permanebit cum sole et ante lunam
in generatione et generationem.
6 He will come down like rain on mown grass, like showers moistening the land.6 Descendet sicut pluvia in gramen,
et sicut imber irrigans terram.
7 In his days uprightness shal flourish, and peace in plenty till the moon is no more.7 Florebit in diebus eius iustitia et abundantia pacis,
donec auferatur luna.
8 His empire shal stretch from sea to sea, from the river to the limits of the earth.8 Et dominabitur a mari usque ad mare
et a flumine usque ad terminos orbis terrarum.
9 The Beast wil cower before him, his enemies lick the dust;9 Coram illo procident incolae deserti,
et inimici eius terram lingent.
10 the kings of Tarshish and the islands wil pay him tribute. The kings of Sheba and Saba wil offer gifts;10 Reges Tharsis et insulae munera offerent,
reges Arabum et Saba dona adducent.
11 all kings will do him homage, al nations become his servants.11 Et adorabunt eum omnes reges,
omnes gentes servient ei.
12 For he rescues the needy who cal s to him, and the poor who has no one to help.12 Quia liberabit inopem clamantem
et pauperem, cui non erat adiutor.
13 He has pity on the weak and the needy, and saves the needy from death.13 Parcet pauperi et inopi
et animas pauperum salvas faciet.
14 From oppression and violence he redeems their lives, their blood is precious in his sight.14 Ex oppressione et violentia redimet animas eorum,
et pretiosus erit sanguis eorum coram illo. -
15 (Long may he live; may the gold of Sheba be given him!) Prayer wil be offered for him constantly,and blessings invoked on him al day.15 Et vivet, et dabitur ei de auro Arabiae,
et orabunt pro ipso semper;
tota die benedicent ei.
16 May wheat abound in the land, waving on the heights of the hills, like Lebanon with its fruits andflowers at their best, like the grasses of the earth.16 Et erit ubertas frumenti in terra,
in summis montium fluctuabit,
sicut Libanus fructus eius;
et florebunt de civitate sicut fenum terrae.
17 May his name be blessed for ever, and endure in the sight of the sun. In him shal be blessed everyrace in the world, and all nations call him blessed.17 Sit nomen eius benedictum in saecula,
ante solem permanebit nomen eius.
Et benedicentur in ipso omnes tribus terrae,
omnes gentes magnificabunt eum.
18 Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, who alone works wonders;18 Benedictus Dominus Deus, Deus Israel,
qui facit mirabilia solus.
19 blessed for ever his glorious name. May the whole world be fil ed with his glory! Amen! Amen!19 Et benedictum nomen maiestatis eius in aeternum;
et replebitur maiestate eius omnis terra. Fiat, fiat.
20 End of the prayers of David, son of Jesse.
