Psalms 72

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 [Of Solomon] God, endow the king with your own fair judgement, the son of the king with your ownsaving justice,	1 De Salomon. O Dieu, donne au roi ton jugement, au fils de roi ta justice,
2 that he may rule your people with justice, and your poor with fair judgement.	2 qu'il rende à ton peuple sentence juste et jugement à tes petits.
3 Mountains and hil s, bring peace to the people! With justice	3 Montagnes, apportez, et vous collines, la paix au peuple. Avec justice
4 he wil judge the poor of the people, he wil save the children of the needy and crush their oppressors.	4 il jugera le petit peuple, il sauvera les fils de pauvres, il écrasera leurs bourreaux.
5 In the sight of the sun and the moon he wil endure, age after age.	5 Il durera sous le soleil et la lune siècle après siècle;
6 He will come down like rain on mown grass, like showers moistening the land.	6 il descendra comme la pluie sur le regain, comme la bruine mouillant la terre.
7 In his days uprightness shal flourish, and peace in plenty till the moon is no more.	7 En ses jours justice fleurira et grande paix jusqu'à la fin des lunes;
8 His empire shal stretch from sea to sea, from the river to the limits of the earth.	8 il dominera de la mer à la mer, du Fleuve jusqu'aux bouts de la terre.
9 The Beast wil cower before him, his enemies lick the dust;	9 Devant lui se courbera la Bête, ses ennemis lécheront la poussière;
10 the kings of Tarshish and the islands wil pay him tribute. The kings of Sheba and Saba wil offer gifts;	10 les rois de Tarsis et des îles rendront tribut. Les rois de Saba et de Seba feront offrande;
11 all kings will do him homage, al nations become his servants.	11 tous les rois se prosterneront devant lui, tous les païens le serviront.
12 For he rescues the needy who cal s to him, and the poor who has no one to help.	12 Car il délivre le pauvre qui appelle et le petit qui est sans aide;
13 He has pity on the weak and the needy, and saves the needy from death.	13 compatissant au faible et au pauvre, il sauve l'âme des pauvres.
14 From oppression and violence he redeems their lives, their blood is precious in his sight.	14 De l'oppression, de la violence, il rachète leur âme, leur sang est précieux à ses yeux.
15 (Long may he live; may the gold of Sheba be given him!) Prayer wil be offered for him constantly,and blessings invoked on him al day.	15 (Qu'il vive et que lui soit donné l'or de Saba! ) On priera pour lui sans relâche, tout le jour, on lebénira.
16 May wheat abound in the land, waving on the heights of the hills, like Lebanon with its fruits andflowers at their best, like the grasses of the earth.	16 Foisonne le froment sur la terre, qu'il ondule au sommet des montagnes, comme le Liban quand iléveille ses fruits et ses fleurs, comme l'herbe de la terre!
17 May his name be blessed for ever, and endure in the sight of the sun. In him shal be blessed everyrace in the world, and all nations call him blessed.	17 Soit béni son nom à jamais, qu'il dure sous le soleil! Bénies seront en lui toutes les races de laterre, que tous les païens le disent bienheureux!
18 Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, who alone works wonders;	18 Béni soit Yahvé, le Dieu d'Israël, qui seul a fait des merveilles;
19 blessed for ever his glorious name. May the whole world be fil ed with his glory! Amen! Amen!	19 béni soit à jamais son nom de gloire, toute la terre soit remplie de sa gloire! Amen! Amen!
