NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 [Of Solomon] God, endow the king with your own fair judgement, the son of the king with your ownsaving justice,	1 Di Salomone. O Dio, da' al re il tuo statuto, al figlio del re la tua giustizia.
2 that he may rule your people with justice, and your poor with fair judgement.	2 Regga il tuo popolo con equità, i tuoi poveri con rettitudine.
3 Mountains and hil s, bring peace to the people! With justice	3 I monti portino pace al popolo, giustizia le colline.
4 he wil judge the poor of the people, he wil save the children of the needy and crush their oppressors.	4 Renda giustizia ai più miseri del popolo, porti salvezza ai figli dei poveri e umiliazione ai loro oppressori.
5 In the sight of the sun and the moon he wil endure, age after age.	5 Durino i suoi giorni come il sole, come la luna, di generazione in generazione.
6 He will come down like rain on mown grass, like showers moistening the land.	6 Discenda come pioggia sull'erba, come scroscio che irriga la terra.
7 In his days uprightness shal flourish, and peace in plenty till the moon is no more.	7 Fiorisca nei suoi giorni la giustizia e abbondanza di pace fino a che si estingua la luna.
8 His empire shal stretch from sea to sea, from the river to the limits of the earth.	8 E si estenda il suo dominio da mare a mare, dal fiume sino ai confini della terra.
9 The Beast wil cower before him, his enemies lick the dust;	9 S'incurvino davanti a lui le fiere del deserto e lambiscano la polvere i suoi nemici.
10 the kings of Tarshish and the islands wil pay him tribute. The kings of Sheba and Saba wil offer gifts;	10 Il re di Tarsis e le isole offrano i loro doni; i re dell'Arabia e di Seba portino i loro tributi.
11 all kings will do him homage, al nations become his servants.	11 Si prostrino davanti a lui tutti i sovrani, lui servano tutte le nazioni.
12 For he rescues the needy who cal s to him, and the poor who has no one to help.	12 Sì, egli libererà il povero che grida aiuto, il misero che è senza soccorso.
13 He has pity on the weak and the needy, and saves the needy from death.	13 Avrà pietà del debole e del povero e porrà in salvo la vita dei miseri:
14 From oppression and violence he redeems their lives, their blood is precious in his sight.	14 dall'oppressione e dalla violenza egli riscatterà la loro anima, ché prezioso sarà ai suoi occhi il loro sangue.
15 (Long may he live; may the gold of Sheba be given him!) Prayer wil be offered for him constantly,and blessings invoked on him al day.	15 Viva, e riceva oro di Arabia, di continuo per lui salga la preghiera, ogni giorno la benedizione per lui.
16 May wheat abound in the land, waving on the heights of the hills, like Lebanon with its fruits andflowers at their best, like the grasses of the earth.	16 Vi sia abbondanza di frumento sulla terra, ondeggi sulle cime dei monti; fiorisca il suo frutto come il Libano e si raccolga come erba dei prati.
17 May his name be blessed for ever, and endure in the sight of the sun. In him shal be blessed everyrace in the world, and all nations call him blessed.	17 Sia il suo nome per sempre, davanti al sole permanga il suo nome. E siano benedette in lui tutte le stirpi della terra, e tutte le nazioni lo proclamino beato.
18 Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, who alone works wonders;	18 Benedetto sia il Signore, Dio d'Israele, colui che solo opera prodigi.
19 blessed for ever his glorious name. May the whole world be fil ed with his glory! Amen! Amen!	19 Benedetto sia il nome della sua gloria in eterno. Della sua gloria sia piena tutta la terra. Amen! Amen!
