[Of Solomon] God, endow the king with your own fair judgement, the son of the king with your ownsaving justice,1 A psalm on Solomon.
that he may rule your people with justice, and your poor with fair judgement.2 Give to the king thy judgment, O God: and to the king's son thy justice: To judge thy people with justice, and thy poor with judgment.
Mountains and hil s, bring peace to the people! With justice3 Let the mountains receive peace for the people: and the hills justice.
he wil judge the poor of the people, he wil save the children of the needy and crush their oppressors.4 He shall judge the poor of the people, and he shall save the children of the poor: and he shall humble the oppressor.
In the sight of the sun and the moon he wil endure, age after age.5 And he shall continue with the sun, and before the moon, throughout all generations.
He will come down like rain on mown grass, like showers moistening the land.6 He shall come down like rain upon the fleece; and as showers falling gently upon the earth.
In his days uprightness shal flourish, and peace in plenty till the moon is no more.7 In his days shall justice spring up, and abundance of peace, till the moon be taken sway.
His empire shal stretch from sea to sea, from the river to the limits of the earth.8 And he shall rule from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.
The Beast wil cower before him, his enemies lick the dust;9 Before him the Ethiopians shall fall down: and his enemies shall lick the ground.
the kings of Tarshish and the islands wil pay him tribute. The kings of Sheba and Saba wil offer gifts;10 The kings of Tharsis and the islands shall offer presents: the kings of the Arabians and of Saba shall bring gifts:
all kings will do him homage, al nations become his servants.11 And all kings of the earth shall adore him: all nations shall serve him.
For he rescues the needy who cal s to him, and the poor who has no one to help.12 For he shall deliver the poor from the mighty: and the needy that had no helper.
He has pity on the weak and the needy, and saves the needy from death.13 He shall spare the poor and needy: and he shall save the souls of the poor.
From oppression and violence he redeems their lives, their blood is precious in his sight.14 He shall redeem their souls from usuries and iniquity: and their names shall be honourable in his sight.
(Long may he live; may the gold of Sheba be given him!) Prayer wil be offered for him constantly, and blessings invoked on him al day.15 And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Arabia, for him they shall always adore: they shall bless him all the day.
May wheat abound in the land, waving on the heights of the hills, like Lebanon with its fruits andflowers at their best, like the grasses of the earth.16 And there shall be a firmament on the earth on the tops of mountains, above Libanus shall the fruit thereof be exalted : and they of the city shall flourish like the grass of the earth.
May his name be blessed for ever, and endure in the sight of the sun. In him shal be blessed everyrace in the world, and all nations call him blessed.17 Let his name be blessed for evermore : his name continueth before the sun. And in him shall all the tribes of the earth be blessed: all nations shall magnify him.
Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, who alone works wonders;18 Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who alone doth wonderful things.
blessed for ever his glorious name. May the whole world be fil ed with his glory! Amen! Amen!19 And blessed be the name of his majesty for ever: and the whole earth shall be filled with his majesty. So be it. So be it.
End of the prayers of David, son of Jesse.20 The praises of David, the son of Jesse, are ended.
