1 [Of Solomon] God, endow the king with your own fair judgement, the son of the king with your ownsaving justice,	1 (Salmo di Asai). Quanto è buono Dio con Israele, con quelli che son retti di cuore!
2 that he may rule your people with justice, and your poor with fair judgement.	2 Ma poco mancò che i miei piedi non vacillassero, che i miei passi non uscissero fuori di strada;
3 Mountains and hil s, bring peace to the people! With justice	3 perchè mi adirai a causa degli iniqui, vedendo la pace dei peccatori.
4 he wil judge the poor of the people, he wil save the children of the needy and crush their oppressors.	4 Essi non pensano alla loro morte, le loro piaghe son di corta durata.
5 In the sight of the sun and the moon he wil endure, age after age.	5 Non han la loro parte negli affanni umani, e non son colpiti come il resto degli uomini.
6 He will come down like rain on mown grass, like showers moistening the land.	6 Per questo li prese la superbia, e si son coperti d'iniquità e d'empietà.
7 In his days uprightness shal flourish, and peace in plenty till the moon is no more.	7 L'iniquità par che venga fuori dal loro grasso; si sono abbandonati alle passioni del cuore.
8 His empire shal stretch from sea to sea, from the river to the limits of the earth.	8 Pensano e parlano perversamente, altezzosamente ragionano di far del male.
9 The Beast wil cower before him, his enemies lick the dust;	9 Hanno messa la loro bocca contro il cielo e la loro lingua percorre la terra.
10 the kings of Tarshish and the islands wil pay him tribute. The kings of Sheba and Saba wil offer gifts;	10 Ecco perchè il mio popolo si rivolge da questa parte: in loro si trovano giorni d'abbondanza.
11 all kings will do him homage, al nations become his servants.	11 E dicono: « Come lo sa Dio? C'è forse la scienza nell'Altissimo? »
12 For he rescues the needy who cal s to him, and the poor who has no one to help.	12 Ecco come sono gli empi: pieni d'abbondanza nel mondo, hanno ammassate ricchezze.
13 He has pity on the weak and the needy, and saves the needy from death.	13 Ed io dissi: « Dunque invano ho purificato il mio cuore, ho lavate tra gli innocenti le mie mani:
14 From oppression and violence he redeems their lives, their blood is precious in his sight.	14 «Sono flagellato tutto il giorno, e il mio castigo è lì ogni mattino ».

18 Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, who alone works wonders;	18 In verità li hai messi vicini agl'inganni, li abbatti mentre si i levano in alto.
19 blessed for ever his glorious name. May the whole world be fil ed with his glory! Amen! Amen!	19 Come son caduti in desolazione! Sono svaniti in un momento, son periti per la loro iniquità.
20 End of the prayers of David, son of Jesse.	20 Come il sogno di chi si sveglia, o Signore, riduci a niente nella a tua città il loro fantasma.
	21 Il mio cuore era infiammato, i miei reni erano alterati
	22 Ero ridotto un niente e non i capivo:
	23 Dinanzi a te ero diventato come un giumento. Ma sarò sempre con te.
	24 Mi prendi per la mano destra, mi conduci a tuo beneplacito, mi accoglierai con onore.
	25 Che c'è per me in cielo? E che desidero da te sopra la terra?
	26 La mia carne vien meno, e così il mio cuore: il Dio del mio cuore, la mia parte è Dio in eterno.
	27 Ecco, quelli che si allontanano da te periranno: tu mandi in perdizione tutti quelli che non ti rimangono fedeli.
	28 Per me è la mia felicità stare unito con Dio e porre nel Signore Dio la mia speranza, per annunziare tutte le tue lodi dentro le porte della figlia di Sion.
