¹ Al eluia! Give thanks to Yahweh for he is good, his faithful love lasts for ever.	¹ Dad gracias al Señor porque es bueno, \| porque es eterna su misericordia.
² So let them say whom Yahweh redeemed, whom he redeemed from the power of their enemies,	² Que lo confiesen los redimidos por el Señor, \| los que él rescató de la mano del enemigo,
³ bringing them back from foreign lands, from east and west, north and south.	³ los que reunió de todos los países: \| oriente y occidente, norte y sur.
⁴ They were wandering in the desert, in the wastelands, could find no way to an inhabited city;	⁴ Erraban por un desierto solitario, \| no encontraban el camino de ciudad habitada;
⁵ they were hungry and thirsty, their life was ebbing away.	⁵ pasaban hambre y sed, \| se les iba agotando la vida;
⁶ They cried out to Yahweh in their distress, he rescued them from their plight,	⁶ pero gritaron al Señor en su angustia, \| y los arrancó de la tribulación.
⁷ he set them on the road, straight to an inhabited city.	⁷ Los guio por un camino derecho, \| para que llegaran a una ciudad habitada.
⁸ Let them thank Yahweh for his faithful love, for his wonders for the children of Adam!	⁸ Den gracias al Señor por su misericordia, \| por las maravillas que hace con los hombres.
⁹ He has fed the hungry to their hearts' content, filled the starving with good things.	⁹ Calmó el ansia de los sedientos, \| y a los hambrientos los colmó de bienes.
¹⁰ Sojourners in gloom and shadow dark as death, fettered in misery and chains,	¹⁰ Yacían en oscuridad y tinieblas, \| cautivos de hierros y miserias;
¹¹ for defying the orders of Yahweh, for scorning the plan of the Most High-	¹¹ por haberse rebelado contra los mandamientos, \| despreciando el plan del Altísimo.
¹² he subdued their spirit by hard labour; if they fel there was no one to help.	¹² Él humilló su corazón con trabajos, \| sucumbían y nadie los socorría.
¹³ They cried out to Yahweh in their distress, he rescued them from their plight,	¹³ Pero gritaron al Señor en su angustia, \| y los arrancó de la tribulación.
¹⁴ he brought them out from gloom and shadow dark as death, and shattered their chains.	¹⁴ Los sacó de las sombrías tinieblas, \| arrancó sus cadenas.
¹⁵ Let them thank Yahweh for his faithful love, for his wonders for the children of Adam!	¹⁵ Den gracias al Señor por su misericordia, \| por las maravillas que hace con los hombres.
¹⁶ He broke open gates of bronze and smashed iron bars.	¹⁶ Destrozó las puertas de bronce, \| quebró los cerrojos de hierro.
¹⁷ Fools for their rebellious ways, wretched because of their sins,	¹⁷ Estaban enfermos por sus maldades, \| por sus culpas eran afligidos;
¹⁸ finding all food repugnant, brought close to the gates of death-	¹⁸ aborrecían todos los manjares, \| y ya tocaban las puertas de la muerte.
¹⁹ they cried out to Yahweh in their distress; he rescued them from their plight,	¹⁹ Pero gritaron al Señor en su angustia, \| y los arrancó de la tribulación.
²⁰ he sent out his word and cured them, and rescued their life from the abyss.	²⁰ Envió su palabra para curarlos, \| para salvarlos de la perdición.
²¹ Let them thank Yahweh for his faithful love, for his wonders for the children of Adam!	²¹ Den gracias al Señor por su misericordia, \| por las maravillas que hace con los hombres.
²² Let them offer thanksgiving sacrifices, and recount with shouts of joy what he has done!	²² Ofrézcanle sacrificios de alabanza, \| y cuenten con entusiasmo sus acciones.
²³ Voyagers on the sea in ships, plying their trade on the great ocean,	²³ Entraron en naves por el mar, \| comerciando por las aguas inmensas.
²⁴ have seen the works of Yahweh, his wonders in the deep.	²⁴ Contemplaron las obras de Dios, \| sus maravillas en el océano.
²⁵ By his word he raised a storm-wind, lashing up towering waves.	²⁵ Él habló y levantó un viento tormentoso, \| que alzaba las olas a lo alto:
²⁶ Up to the sky then down to the depths! Their stomachs were turned to water;	²⁶ subían al cielo, bajaban al abismo, \| se sentían sin fuerzas en el peligro,
²⁷ they staggered and reeled like drunkards, and al their skill went under.	²⁷ rodaban, se tambaleaban como borrachos, \| y no les valía su pericia.
²⁸ They cried out to Yahweh in their distress, he rescued them from their plight,	²⁸ Pero gritaron al Señor en su angustia, \| y los arrancó de la tribulación.
²⁹ he reduced the storm to a calm, and al the waters subsided,	²⁹ Apaciguó la tormenta en suave brisa, \| y enmudecieron las olas del mar.
³⁰ and he brought them, overjoyed at the stillness, to the port where they were bound.	³⁰ Se alegraron de aquella bonanza, \| y él los condujo al ansiado puerto.
³¹ Let them thank Yahweh for his faithful love, for his wonders for the children of Adam!	³¹ Den gracias al Señor por su misericordia, \| por las maravillas que hace con los hombres.
³² Let them extol him in the assembly of the people, and praise him in the council of elders.	³² Aclámenlo en la asamblea del pueblo, \| alábenlo en el consejo de los ancianos.
³³ He has turned rivers into desert, bubbling springs into arid ground,	³³ Él transformará los ríos en desierto, \| los manantiales de agua en aridez;
³⁴ fertile country into salt-flats, because the people living there were evil.	³⁴ la tierra fértil en marismas, \| por la depravación de sus habitantes.
³⁵ But he has turned desert into stretches of water, arid ground into bubbling springs,	³⁵ Transformó el desierto en estanques, \| el erial en manantiales de agua.
³⁶ and has given the hungry a home, where they have built themselves a city.	³⁶ Colocó allí a los hambrientos, \| y fundaron una ciudad para habitar.
³⁷ There they sow fields and plant vines, and reap a harvest of their produce.	³⁷ Sembraron campos, plantaron huertos, \| recogieron cosechas.
³⁸ He blesses them and their numbers increase, he keeps their cattle at full strength.	³⁸ Los bendijo y se multiplicaron, \| y no les escatimó el ganado.
³⁹ Their numbers had fal en, they had grown weak, under pressure of disaster and hardship;	³⁹ Y menguaron, abatidos por el peso \| de infortunios y desgracias.
⁴⁰ he covered princes in contempt, left them to wander in trackless wastes.	⁴⁰ El mismo que arroja desprecio sobre los príncipes \| y los descarrió por una soledad sin caminos,
⁴¹ But the needy he raises from their misery, makes their families as numerous as sheep.	⁴¹ levantó a los pobres de la miseria \| y multiplicó sus familias como rebaños.
⁴² At the sight the honest rejoice, and the wicked have nothing to say.	⁴² Los rectos lo ven y se alegran, \| a la maldad se le tapa la boca.
⁴³ Who is wise? Such a one should take this to heart, and come to understand Yahweh's faithful love.	⁴³ El que sea sabio, que recoja estos hechos \| y comprenda la misericordia del Señor.
