NEW JERUSALEM | DIODATI |
---|---|
[Prayer of someone afflicted, who in misfortune pours out sorrows before Yahweh] Yahweh, hear myprayer, let my cry for help reach you. |
Do not turn away your face from me when I am in trouble; bend down and listen to me, when I cal ,be quick to answer me! | 2 Non nasconder la tua faccia da me; Nel giorno che io sono in distretta, inchina a me il tuo orecchio; Nel giorno che io grido, affrettati a rispondermi. |
For my days are vanishing like smoke, my bones burning like an oven; | 3 Perciocchè i miei giorni son venuti meno come fumo, E le mie ossa sono arse come un tizzone. |
like grass struck by blight, my heart is withering, I forget to eat my meals. |
From the effort of voicing my groans my bones stick out through my skin. |
I am like a desert-owl in the wastes, a screech-owl among ruins, | 6 Io son divenuto simile al pellicano del deserto; E son come il gufo delle solitudini. |
I keep vigil and moan like a lone bird on a roof. I miei nemici mi fanno vituperio tuttodì; |
Al day long my enemies taunt me, those who once praised me now use me as a curse. | 8 Quelli che sono infuriati contro a me fanno delle esecrazioni di me. |
Ashes are the food that I eat, my drink is mingled with tears, | 9 Perciocchè io ho mangiata la cenere come pane, Ed ho temperata la mia bevanda con lagrime. |
because of your fury and anger, since you have raised me up only to cast me away; | 10 Per la tua indegnazione, e per lo tuo cruccio; Perciocchè, avendomi levato ad alto, tu mi hai gettato a basso. |
my days are like a fading shadow, I am withering up like grass. | 11 I miei giorni son come l’ombra che dichina; Ed io son secco come erba |
But you, Yahweh, are enthroned for ever, each generation in turn remembers you. |
Rise up, take pity on Zion! the time has come to have mercy on her, the moment has come; | 13 Tu ti leverai, tu avrai compassione di Sion; Perciocchè egli è tempo di averne pietà; Perciocchè il termine è giunto. |
for your servants love her very stones, are moved to pity by her dust. |
Then wil the nations revere the name of Yahweh, and al the kings of the earth your glory; | 15 E le genti temeranno il Nome del Signore, E tutti i re della terra la tua gloria, |
when Yahweh builds Zion anew, he will be seen in his glory; | 16 Quando il Signore avrà riedificata Sion, Quando egli sarà apparito nella sua gloria, |
he wil turn to hear the prayer of the destitute, and wil not treat their prayer with scorn. |
This shall be put on record for a future generation, and a people yet to be born shal praise God: | 18 Ciò sarà scritto all’età a venire; E il popolo che sarà creato loderà il Signore. |
Yahweh has leaned down from the heights of his sanctuary, has looked down from heaven to earth, | 19 Perciocchè egli avrà riguardato dall’alto luogo della sua santità; Perciocchè il Signore avrà mirato dal cielo verso la terra; |
to listen to the sighing of the captive, and set free those condemned to death, | 20 Per udire i gemiti de’ prigioni; Per isciogliere quelli ch’erano condannati a morte; |
to proclaim the name of Yahweh in Zion, his praise in Jerusalem; | 21 Acciocchè si narri in Sion il Nome del Signore, E la sua lode in Gerusalemme. |
nations wil gather together, and kingdoms to worship Yahweh.
In my journeying my strength has failed on the way; | 23 Egli ha tra via abbattute le mie forze; Egli ha scorciati i miei giorni. |
let me know the short time I have left. Do not take me away before half my days are done, for youryears run on from age to age. |
Long ago you laid earth's foundations, the heavens are the work of your hands. | 25 Tu fondasti già la terra; E i cieli son l’opera delle tue mani; |
They pass away but you remain; they al wear out like a garment, like outworn clothes you changethem; | 26 Queste cose periranno, ma tu dimorerai; Ed esse invecchieranno tutte, come un vestimento; Tu le muterai come una vesta, e trapasseranno. |
but you never alter, and your years never end. |
The children of those who serve you wil dwel secure, and their descendants live on in yourpresence.
