1 Bildad of Shuah spoke next. He said:	1 - Prese allora a parlare Baldad il Suhita e disse:
2 What prevents you others from saying something? Think -- for it is our turn to speak!	2 «Fino a quando butterete fuori delle parole? Prima fate senno, e poi ragioneremo.
3 Why do you regard us as animals, considering us no more than brutes?	3 Perchè dovremo noi essere stimati come bestie, e riputati immondi agli occhi vostri?
4 Tear yourself to pieces if you will, but the world, for al your rage, wil not turn to desert, the rocks wilnot shift from their places.	4 Se tu uccidi l'anima tua nel tuo furore, resterà forse abbandonata per causa tua la terra, e si sposterà la rupe dal posto suo?
5 The light of the wicked must certainly be put out, the lamp that gives him light cease to shine.	5 Non è forse vero che la luce dell'empio si spegnerà, nè brillerà la fiamma del suo fuoco?
6 In his tent the light is dimmed, the lamp that shone on him is snuffed.	6 La luce s'oscurerà nella sua tenda, e la lucerna che gli sta sopra si spegnerà.
7 His vigorous stride loses its power, his own designs falter.	7 Coartati saranno i suoi fieri passi, lo farà procombere il suo stesso consiglio;
8 For into the net his own feet carry him, he walks into the snares.	8 che spingerà egli i suoi piedi in una rete, e nelle sue maglie ei dovrà camminare;
9 A spring grips him by the heel, a trap snaps shut, and he is caught.	9 ghermirà un laccio il suo calcagno, e lo avvinceranno calappii:
10 Hidden in the ground is a snare to catch him, pitfal s lie across his path.	10 nascosta in terra sta per lui la fune, e sul sentiero sta per lui la trappola.
11 Terrors threaten him from al sides following him step by step.	11 D'ogni lato lo spaventano terrori, e impacceranno i piedi di lui:
12 Hunger becomes his companion, by his side Disaster stands.	12 la sua robustezza sarà snervata dalla fame, e l'inedia invaderà i suoi fianchi.
13 Disease devours his skin, Death's First-Born gnaws his limbs.	13 Divorerà la florida sua carnagione, consumandone le membra, la primogenita della morte.
14 He wil be torn from the shelter of his tent, and you wil drag him to the King of Terrors.	14 Sarà asportata dalla sua tenda la sua fiducia, lo calcherà, come dominatrice, la morte.
15 You can live in the tent, since it is no longer his, and brimstone wil be scattered on his sheepfold.	15 Abiteranno nella tenda di lui, che più non è, i suoi compagni, sarà cosparsa di zolfo la sua dimora.

18 Driven from the light into the darkness, he is banished from the world,	18 Sarà sospinto dalla luce delle tenebre, e via dal mondo sarà scacciato.
19 without issue or posterity among his own people or a single survivor where he used to live.	19 Non avrà posteri nè discendenza nel suo popolo, nè alcuna sopravvivenza nelle sue regioni.
20 His end appals the west and fills the east with terror.	20 Del suo giorno di rovina sbigottiscono gli Occidentali, ne sentono orrore gli Orientali.
21 Such indeed is the fate of the places where wickedness dwel s -- the home of everyone who knowsnot God.	21 Tali sono le tende dell'empioe questa la sorte di chi ignora Dio.»
