1 Bildad of Shuah spoke next. He said:	1 Bildad di Suach prese a dire:
2 What prevents you others from saying something? Think -- for it is our turn to speak!	2 «Quando porrai fine alle tue chiacchiere? Rifletti bene e poi parleremo.
3 Why do you regard us as animals, considering us no more than brutes?	3 Perché ci consideri come bestie, ci fai passare per idioti ai tuoi occhi?
4 Tear yourself to pieces if you will, but the world, for al your rage, wil not turn to desert, the rocks wilnot shift from their places.	4 Tu che ti rodi l’anima nel tuo furore, forse per causa tua sarà abbandonata la terra e le rupi si staccheranno dal loro posto?
5 The light of the wicked must certainly be put out, the lamp that gives him light cease to shine.	5 Certamente la luce del malvagio si spegnerà e più non brillerà la fiamma del suo focolare.
6 In his tent the light is dimmed, the lamp that shone on him is snuffed.	6 La luce si offuscherà nella sua tenda e la lucerna si estinguerà sopra di lui.
7 His vigorous stride loses its power, his own designs falter.	7 Il suo energico passo si accorcerà e i suoi progetti lo faranno precipitare,
8 For into the net his own feet carry him, he walks into the snares.	8 perché con i suoi piedi incapperà in una rete e tra le maglie camminerà.
9 A spring grips him by the heel, a trap snaps shut, and he is caught.	9 Un laccio l’afferrerà per il calcagno, un nodo scorsoio lo stringerà.
10 Hidden in the ground is a snare to catch him, pitfal s lie across his path.	10 Gli è nascosta per terra una fune e gli è tesa una trappola sul sentiero.
11 Terrors threaten him from al sides following him step by step.	11 Terrori lo spaventano da tutte le parti e gli stanno alle calcagna.
12 Hunger becomes his companion, by his side Disaster stands.	12 Diventerà carestia la sua opulenza e la rovina è ritta al suo fianco.
13 Disease devours his skin, Death's First-Born gnaws his limbs.	13 Un malanno divorerà la sua pelle, il primogenito della morte roderà le sue membra.
14 He wil be torn from the shelter of his tent, and you wil drag him to the King of Terrors.	14 Sarà tolto dalla tenda in cui fidava, per essere trascinato davanti al re dei terrori!
15 You can live in the tent, since it is no longer his, and brimstone wil be scattered on his sheepfold.	15 Potresti abitare nella tenda che non è più sua; sulla sua dimora si spargerà zolfo.
16 Below, his roots dry out and his branches are blasted above.	16 Al di sotto, le sue radici si seccheranno, sopra, appassiranno i suoi rami.
17 His memory fades from the land, his name is forgotten in the countryside.	17 Il suo ricordo sparirà dalla terra e il suo nome più non si udrà per la contrada.
18 Driven from the light into the darkness, he is banished from the world,	18 Lo getteranno dalla luce nel buio e dal mondo lo stermineranno.
19 without issue or posterity among his own people or a single survivor where he used to live.	19 Non famiglia, non discendenza avrà nel suo popolo, non superstiti nei luoghi della sua residenza.
20 His end appals the west and fills the east with terror.	20 Della sua fine stupirà l’occidente e l’oriente ne avrà orrore.
21 Such indeed is the fate of the places where wickedness dwel s -- the home of everyone who knowsnot God.	21 Ecco qual è la sorte dell’iniquo: questa è la dimora di chi non riconosce Dio».
