NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 Bildad of Shuah spoke next. He said:	1 E BILDAD Suhita rispose, e disse:
2 What prevents you others from saying something? Think -- for it is our turn to speak!	2 Fino a quando non metterete fine a’ ragionamenti? Intendete prima, e poi parleremo insieme.
3 Why do you regard us as animals, considering us no more than brutes?	3 Perchè siamo noi riputati per bestie? E perchè ci avete voi a schifo?
4 Tear yourself to pieces if you will, but the world, for al your rage, wil not turn to desert, the rocks wilnot shift from their places.	4 O tu, che laceri l’anima tua nel tuo cruccio, Sarà la terra abbandonata per cagion tua, E saranno le roccie trasportate dal luogo loro?
5 The light of the wicked must certainly be put out, the lamp that gives him light cease to shine.	5 Sì, la luce degli empi sarà spenta, E niuna favilla del fuoco loro rilucerà.
6 In his tent the light is dimmed, the lamp that shone on him is snuffed.	6 La luce sarà oscurata nel lor tabernacolo. E la lor lampana sarà spenta intorno a loro.
7 His vigorous stride loses its power, his own designs falter.	7 I lor fieri passi saran ristretti, E il lor proprio consiglio li traboccherà abbasso;
8 For into the net his own feet carry him, he walks into the snares.	8 Perciocchè essi si gitteranno nel laccio co’ piedi loro, E cammineranno sopra la rete.
9 A spring grips him by the heel, a trap snaps shut, and he is caught.	9 Il laccio prenderà loro il calcagno, Il ladrone farà loro forza e violenza.
10 Hidden in the ground is a snare to catch him, pitfal s lie across his path.	10 La fune sarà loro nascosta in terra, E la trappola in sul sentiero
11 Terrors threaten him from al sides following him step by step.	11 Spaventi li conturberanno d’ogn’intorno, E li faranno fuggire in rotta.
12 Hunger becomes his companion, by his side Disaster stands.	12 La lor forza sarà affamata, E la calamità sarà loro apparecchiata allato.
13 Disease devours his skin, Death's First-Born gnaws his limbs.	13 Il primogenito della morte divorerà le membra della lor pelle; Divorerà le membra loro.
14 He wil be torn from the shelter of his tent, and you wil drag him to the King of Terrors.	14 La lor confidanza sarà divelta dal lor tabernacolo; E ciò li farà camminare al re degli spaventi.
15 You can live in the tent, since it is no longer his, and brimstone wil be scattered on his sheepfold.	15 Abiteranno ne’ lor tabernacoli che non saranno più loro; Ei si spargerà del solfo in su le loro stanze.
16 Below, his roots dry out and his branches are blasted above.	16 Disotto le lor radici si seccheranno, E disopra i lor rami saranno tagliati.
17 His memory fades from the land, his name is forgotten in the countryside.	17 La lor memoria perirà d’in su la terra, E non avranno nome alcuno sopra le piazze.
18 Driven from the light into the darkness, he is banished from the world,	18 Saranno spinti dalla luce nelle tenebre, E saranno cacciati fuor del mondo.
19 without issue or posterity among his own people or a single survivor where he used to live.	19 Non avranno figliuoli, nè nipoti fra il lor popolo, Nè alcuno che sopravviva loro nelle loro abitazioni.
20 His end appals the west and fills the east with terror.	20 La posterità stupirà del lor giorno, Come gli antenati ne avranno avuto orrore.
21 Such indeed is the fate of the places where wickedness dwel s -- the home of everyone who knowsnot God.	21 Certo tali saranno gli abitacoli de’ perversi, E tal sarà il luogo di coloro che non conoscono Iddio
