1 Bildad of Shuah spoke next. He said:	1 Ma Baldad di Sueh rispose, e disse:
2 What prevents you others from saying something? Think -- for it is our turn to speak!	2 Fino a quando getterete voi le parole? Fatevi prima sapienti, e poi parleremo.
3 Why do you regard us as animals, considering us no more than brutes?	3 Perché ci stimate voi quasi giumenti, e vili sembriamo dinanzi a voi?
4 Tear yourself to pieces if you will, but the world, for al your rage, wil not turn to desert, the rocks wilnot shift from their places.	4 O tu, che nel tuo furore laceri l'anima tua, forse a causa di te resterà in abbandono la terra, e le rupi saranno smosse da' siti loro?
5 The light of the wicked must certainly be put out, the lamp that gives him light cease to shine.	5 Non è egli vero, che la luce dell'empio si spegnerà, e che non darà splendore la fiamma del suo focolare?
6 In his tent the light is dimmed, the lamp that shone on him is snuffed.	6 La luce nella sua casa si cangerà in tenebre, e la lucerna che sta sopra di lui si estinguerà.
7 His vigorous stride loses its power, his own designs falter.	7 Egli che camminava si franco si troverà in istrettezze, e il suo consiglio sarà suo precipizio.
8 For into the net his own feet carry him, he walks into the snares.	8 Perocché egli ha posti i suoi piedi nella rete, e nelle maglie di essa si intrica.
9 A spring grips him by the heel, a trap snaps shut, and he is caught.	9 Il suo piede sarà preso al laccio, e la sete contro di lui infierirà.
10 Hidden in the ground is a snare to catch him, pitfal s lie across his path.	10 Il laccio è nascoso in terra, e la rete lungo la strada.
11 Terrors threaten him from al sides following him step by step.	11 Da tutte parti lo atterriranno le paure, e impacceranno i piedi di lui.
12 Hunger becomes his companion, by his side Disaster stands.	12 Robusto com'è cadrà in languore per la fame, e l'inedia indebolirà il suo fianco.
13 Disease devours his skin, Death's First-Born gnaws his limbs.	13 Acerbissima morte divorerà la sua bella carnagione, e consumerà le sue braccia.
14 He wil be torn from the shelter of his tent, and you wil drag him to the King of Terrors.	14 Quel che nudriva la sua fidanza sarà rapito dal suo padiglione, e lui premerà col piede, qual sovrana, la morte.
15 You can live in the tent, since it is no longer his, and brimstone wil be scattered on his sheepfold.	15 La casa di lui, che più non è, sarà abitata da' suoi compagni, la sua casa sarà profumata col zolfo.
16 Below, his roots dry out and his branches are blasted above.	16 Le sue più profonde radici si seccheranno, e i rami più alti saranno recisi.
17 His memory fades from the land, his name is forgotten in the countryside.	17 La memoria di lui perirà sulla terra, e del nome suo ricordanza non si farà nelle piazze.
18 Driven from the light into the darkness, he is banished from the world,	18 Dalla luce sarà cacciato nelle tenebre, e traportato fuori del mondo.
19 without issue or posterity among his own people or a single survivor where he used to live.	19 Sentenza di lui, nè discendenza non resterà nel suo popolo, nulla di lui rimarrà nel paese dove abitava.
20 His end appals the west and fills the east with terror.	20 Della sua perdizione rimarranno attoniti quelli che verran dopo, e inorriditi i suoi coetanei.
21 Such indeed is the fate of the places where wickedness dwel s -- the home of everyone who knowsnot God.	21 Così adunque sarà della casa dell'empio, e tale è la condizione di colui, che non conosce Iddio.
