8 Cush became the father of Nimrod, who was the first potentate on earth.	8 Kusch zeugte den Nimrod; dieser war der erste Gewaltherrscher auf Erden.
9 He was a mighty hunter by the grace of the LORD; hence the saying, "Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter by the grace of the LORD."	9 Er war ein gewaltiger Jäger vor dem Herrn; daher sagt man: "Wie Nimrod ein gewaltiger Jäger vor dem Herrn."
10 The chief cities of his kingdom were Babylon, Erech, and Accad, all of them in the land of Shinar.	10 Der Anfang seiner Königsherrschaft war Babel, Erech, Akkad und Kalne im Lande Sinear.
11 From that land he went forth to Asshur, where he built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, and Calah,	11 Von diesem Lande zog er nach Assur aus und erbaute Ninive, Rechobot-Ir und Kelach,

20 These are the descendants of Ham, according to their clans and languages, by their lands and nations.	20 Dies sind Chams Söhne nach ihren Sippen, ihren Sprachen, in ihren Ländern und in ihren Völkerschaften.
21 To Shem also, Japheth's oldest brother and the ancestor of all the children of Eber, sons were born.	21 Auch dem Sem wurden Nachkommen geboren, dem Stammvater aller Hebersöhne, dem ältesten Bruder des Japhet.
22 The descendants of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, and Aram.	22 Die Söhne Sems: Elam, Assur, Arpachschad, Lud und Aram.
23 The descendants of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether, and Mash.	23 Und die Söhne Arams: Uz, Chul, Geter und Masch.
24 Arpachshad became the father of Shelah, and Shelah became the father of Eber.	24 Arpachschad zeugte den Schelach, Schelach den Heber.
25 To Eber two sons were born: the name of the first was Peleg, for in his time the world was divided; and the name of his brother was Joktan.	25 Dem Heber wurden zwei Söhne geboren, der eine hieß Peleg (Trennung) - denn in seinen Tagen trennte sich die Erdbevölkerung -; sein Bruder hieß Joktan.

28 Obal, Abimael, Sheba,	28 Obal, Abimael, Saba,
29 Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were descendants of Joktan.	29 Ophir, Chawila und Jobab. Diese alle sind Söhne Joktans.
30 Their settlements extended all the way to Sephar, the eastern hill country.	30 Ihre Wohnsitze liegen von Mescha bis nach Sephara am Ostgebirge.
31 These are the descendants of Shem, according to their clans and languages by their lands and nations.	31 Dies sind Sems Söhne nach ihren Sippen, ihren Sprachen, in ihren Ländern nach ihren Völkerschaften.
32 These are the groupings of Noah's sons, according to their origins and by their nations. From these the other nations of the earth branched out after the flood.	32 Dies sind die Sippen der Söhne Noes nach ihren Stammbäumen in ihren Völkerschaften, und von ihnen haben sich die Völker nach der Flut verzweigt.
