1 These are the descendants of Noah's sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, to whom sons were born after the flood.	1 Hae sunt generationes filio rum Noe, Sem, Cham et Ia pheth; natique sunt eis filii post diluvium.
2 The descendants of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.	2 Filii Iapheth: Gomer et Magog et Madai et Iavan et Thubal et Mosoch et Thiras.
3 The descendants of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.	3 Porro filii Gomer: Aschenez et Riphath et Thogorma.
4 The descendants of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittim, and the Rodanim.	4 Filii autem Iavan: Elisa et Tharsis, Cetthim et Rodanim.
5 These are the descendants of Japheth, and from them sprang the maritime nations, in their respective lands--each with its own language--by their clans within their nations.	5 Ab his divisae sunt insulae gentium in regionibus suis, unusquisque secundum linguam suam et familias suas in nationibus suis.
6 The descendants of Ham: Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.	6 Filii autem Cham: Chus et Mesraim et Phut et Chanaan.
7 The descendants of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. The descendants of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.	7 Filii Chus: Saba et Hevila et Sabatha et Regma et Sabathacha. Filii Regma: Saba et Dedan.
8 Cush became the father of Nimrod, who was the first potentate on earth.	8 Porro Chus genuit Nemrod: ipse coepit esse potens in terra
9 He was a mighty hunter by the grace of the LORD; hence the saying, "Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter by the grace of the LORD."	9 et erat robustus venator coram Domino. Ob hoc exivit proverbium: “Quasi Nemrod robustus venator coram Domino”.
10 The chief cities of his kingdom were Babylon, Erech, and Accad, all of them in the land of Shinar.	10 Fuit autem principium regni eius Babylon et Arach et Achad et Chalanne in terra Sennaar.
11 From that land he went forth to Asshur, where he built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, and Calah,	11 De terra illa egressus est in Assyriam et aedificavit Nineven et Rohobothir et Chale,
12 as well as Resen, between Nineveh and Calah, the latter being the principal city.	12 Resen quoque inter Nineven et Chale; haec est civitas magna.
13 Mizraim became the father of the Ludim, the Anamim, the Lehabim, the Naphtuhim,	13 At vero Mesraim genuit Ludim et Anamim et Laabim, Nephthuim
14 the Pathrusim, the Casluhim, and the Caphtorim from whom the Philistines sprang.	14 et Phetrusim et Chasluim et Caphtorim, de quibus egressi sunt Philisthim.
15 Canaan became the father of Sidon, his first-born, and of Heth;	15 Chanaan autem genuit Sidonem primogenitum suum, Hetthaeum
16 also of the Jebusites, the Amorites, the Girgashites,	16 et Iebusaeum et Amorraeum, Gergesaeum,
17 the Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites,	17 Hevaeum et Aracaeum, Sinaeum
18 the Arvadites, the Zemarites, and the Hamathites. Afterward, the clans of the Canaanites spread out,	18 et Aradium, Samaraeum et Emathaeum; et post haec disseminati sunt populi Chananaeorum.
19 so that the Canaanite borders extended from Sidon all the way to Gerar, near Gaza, and all the way to Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, near Lasha.	19 Factique sunt termini Chanaan venientibus a Sidone Geraram usque Gazam, donec ingrediaris Sodomam et Gomorram et Adamam et Seboim usque Lesa.
20 These are the descendants of Ham, according to their clans and languages, by their lands and nations.	20 Hi sunt filii Cham in cognationibus et linguis terrisque et gentibus suis.
21 To Shem also, Japheth's oldest brother and the ancestor of all the children of Eber, sons were born.	21 De Sem quoque nati sunt, patre omnium filiorum Heber, fratre Iapheth maiore.
22 The descendants of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, and Aram.	22 Filii Sem: Elam et Assur et Arphaxad et Lud et Aram.
23 The descendants of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether, and Mash.	23 Filii Aram: Us et Hul et Gether et Mes.
24 Arpachshad became the father of Shelah, and Shelah became the father of Eber.	24 At vero Arphaxad genuit Sala, de quo ortus est Heber.
25 To Eber two sons were born: the name of the first was Peleg, for in his time the world was divided; and the name of his brother was Joktan.	25 Natique sunt Heber filii duo: nomen uni Phaleg, eo quod in diebus eius divisa sit terra, et nomen fratris eius Iectan.
26 Joktan became the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,	26 Qui Iectan genuit Elmodad et Saleph et Asarmoth, Iare
27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,	27 et Adoram et Uzal et Decla
28 Obal, Abimael, Sheba,	28 et Ebal et Abimael, Saba
29 Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were descendants of Joktan.	29 et Ophir et Hevila et Iobab. Omnes isti filii Iectan;
30 Their settlements extended all the way to Sephar, the eastern hill country.	30 et facta est habitatio eorum de Messa pergentibus usque Sephar montem orientalem.
31 These are the descendants of Shem, according to their clans and languages by their lands and nations.	31 Isti filii Sem secundum cognationes et linguas et regiones in gentibus suis.
32 These are the groupings of Noah's sons, according to their origins and by their nations. From these the other nations of the earth branched out after the flood.	32 Hae familiae filiorum Noe iuxta generationes et nationes suas. Ab his divisae sunt gentes in terra post diluvium.
