Livro dos Salmos 7

SAGRADA BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Lamentação de Davi, que cantou em honra do Senhor, por causa de Cus, o benjaminita. Senhor, ó meu Deus, é em vós que eu busco meu refúgio; salvai-me de todos os que me perseguem e livrai-me,	1 [Lament Of David Which he sang to Yahweh about Cush the Benjaminite] Yahweh my God, I takerefuge in you, save me from al my pursuers and rescue me,
2 para que o inimigo não me arrebate como um leão, e me dilacere sem que ninguém me livre.	2 or he wil savage me like a lion, carry me off with no one to rescue me.
3 Senhor, ó meu Deus, se acaso fiz isso, se minhas mãos cometeram a iniqüidade,	3 Yahweh my God, if I have done this: if injustice has stained my hands,
4 se fiz mal ao homem pacífico, se oprimi os que me perseguiam sem motivo,	4 if I have repaid my al y with treachery or spared one who attacked me unprovoked,
5 que o inimigo me persiga e me apanhe, que ele me pise vivo ao solo e atire a minha honra ao pó.	5 may an enemy hunt me down and catch me, may he trample my life into the ground and crush my vitalparts into the dust.Pause
6 Levantai-vos, Senhor, na vossa cólera; erguei-vos contra o furor dos que me oprimem, erguei-vos para me defender numa causa que tomastes a vós.	6 Arise, Yahweh, in your anger, rise up against the arrogance of my foes. Awake, my God, you demandjudgement.
7 Que a assembléia das nações vos circunde, presidi-a de um trono elevado.	7 Let the assembly of nations gather round you; return above it on high!
8 O Senhor é o juiz dos povos. Fazei-me justiça, Senhor, segundo o meu justo direito, conforme minha integridade.	8 (Yahweh judges the nations.) Judge me, Yahweh, as my uprightness and my integrity deserve.
9 Ponde fim à malícia dos ímpios e sustentai o direito, ó Deus de justiça, que sondais os corações e os rins.	9 Put an end to the malice of the wicked, make the upright stand firm, you who discern hearts and minds,God the upright.
10 O meu escudo é Deus, ele salva os que têm o coração reto.	10 God is a shield that protects me, saving the honest of heart.
11 Deus é um juiz íntegro, um Deus perpetuamente vingador.	11 God is an upright judge, slow to anger, but a God at al times threatening
12 Se eles não se corrigem, ele afiará a espada, entesará o arco e visará.	12 for those who wil not repent. Let the enemy whet his sword, draw his bow and make ready;
13 Contra os ímpios apresentará dardos mortíferos, lançará flechas inflamadas.	13 but he is making ready instruments of death for himself and tipping his arrows with fire;
14 Eis que o mau está em dores de parto, concebe a malícia e dá à luz a mentira.	14 look at him: pregnant with malice, conceiving spite, he gives birth to treachery.
15 Abre um fosso profundo, mas cai no abismo por ele mesmo cavado.	15 He digs a trap, scoops it out, but he fal s into the snare he made himself.
16 Sua malícia recairá em sua própria cabeça, e sua violência se voltará contra a sua fronte.	16 His spite recoils on his own head, his brutality falls back on his own skul .
17 Eu, porém, glorificarei o Senhor por sua justiça, e salmodiarei ao nome do Senhor, o Altíssimo.	17 I thank Yahweh for his saving justice. I sing to the name of the Most High.
