SAGRADA BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 De Davi. Para vós, Senhor, elevo a minha alma.	1 [Of David] ADORATION I offer, Yahweh,
2 Meu Deus, em vós confio: não seja eu decepcionado! Não escarneçam de mim meus inimigos!	2 to you, my God. BUT in my trust in you do not put me to shame, let not my enemies gloat over me.
3 Não, nenhum daqueles que esperam em vós será confundido, mas os pérfidos serão cobertos de vergonha.	3 CALLING to you, none shal ever be put to shame, but shame is theirs who groundlessly break faith.
4 Senhor, mostrai-me os vossos caminhos, e ensinai-me as vossas veredas.	4 DIRECT me in your ways, Yahweh, and teach me your paths.
5 Dirigi-me na vossa verdade e ensinai-me, porque sois o Deus de minha salvação e em vós eu espero sempre.	5 ENCOURAGE me to walk in your truth and teach me since you are the God who saves me. FOR myhope is in you all day long -- such is your generosity, Yahweh.
6 Lembrai-vos, Senhor, de vossas misericórdias e de vossas bondades, que são eternas.	6 GOODNESS and faithful love have been yours for ever, Yahweh, do not forget them.
7 Não vos lembreis dos pecados de minha juventude e dos meus delitos; em nome de vossa misericórdia, lembrai-vos de mim, por causa de vossa bondade, Senhor.	7 HOLD not my youthful sins against me, but remember me as your faithful love dictates.
8 O Senhor é bom e reto, por isso reconduz os extraviados ao caminho reto.	8 INTEGRITY and generosity are marks of Yahweh for he brings sinners back to the path.
9 Dirige os humildes na justiça, e lhes ensina a sua via.	9 JUDICIOUSLY he guides the humble, instructing the poor in his way.
10 Todos os caminhos do Senhor são graça e fidelidade, para aqueles que guardam sua aliança e seus preceitos.	10 KINDNESS unfailing and constancy mark al Yahweh's paths, for those who keep his covenant andhis decrees.
11 Por amor de vosso nome, Senhor, perdoai meu pecado, por maior que seja.	11 LET my sin, great though it is, be forgiven, Yahweh, for the sake of your name.
12 Que advém ao homem que teme o Senhor? Deus lhe ensina o caminho que deve escolher.	12 MEN who respect Yahweh, what of them? He teaches them the way they must choose.
13 Viverá na felicidade, e sua posteridade possuirá a terra.	13 NEIGHBOURS to happiness wil they live, and their children inherit the land.
14 O Senhor se torna íntimo dos que o temem, e lhes manifesta a sua aliança.	14 ONLY those who fear Yahweh have his secret and his covenant, for their understanding.
15 Meus olhos estão sempre fixos no Senhor, porque ele livrará do laço os meus pés.	15 PERMANENTLY my eyes are on Yahweh, for he will free my feet from the snare.
16 Olhai-me e tende piedade de mim, porque estou só e na miséria.	16 QUICK, turn to me, pity me, alone and wretched as I am!
17 Aliviai as angústias do meu coração, e livrai-me das aflições.	17 RELIEVE the distress of my heart, bring me out of my constraint.
18 Vede minha miséria e meu sofrimento, e perdoai-me todas as faltas.	18 SPARE a glance for my misery and pain, take al my sins away.
19 Vede meus inimigos, são muitos, e com ódio implacável me perseguem.	19 TAKE note how countless are my enemies, how violent their hatred for me.
20 Defendei minha alma e livrai-me; não seja confundido eu que em vós me acolhi.	20 UNLESS you guard me and rescue me I shall be put to shame, for you are my refuge.
21 Protejam-me a inocência e a integridade, porque espero em vós, Senhor.	21 VIRTUE and integrity be my protection, for my hope, Yahweh, is in you.
22 Ó Deus, livrai Israel de todas as suas angústias.	22 Ransom Israel, O God, from al its troubles.
