Seconda lettera ai Tessalonicesi 3

1 Per il resto, fratelli, pregate per noi, perché la parola del Signore si diffonda e sia glorificata come lo è anche tra voi	1 Concerning other things, brothers, pray for us, so that the Word of God may advance and be glorified, just as it is among you,
2 e veniamo liberati dagli uomini perversi e malvagi. Non di tutti infatti è la fede.	2 and so that we may be freed from pertinacious and evil men. For not everyone is faithful.
3 Ma il Signore è fedele; egli vi confermerà e vi custodirà dal maligno.	3 But God is faithful. He will strengthen you, and he will guard you from evil.
4 E riguardo a voi, abbiamo questa fiducia nel Signore, che quanto vi ordiniamo già lo facciate e continuiate a farlo.	4 And we have confidence about you in the Lord, that you are doing, and will continue to do, just as we have instructed.
5 Il Signore diriga i vostri cuori nell'amore di Dio e nella pazienza di Cristo.	5 And may the Lord direct your hearts, in the charity of God and with the patience of Christ.
6 Vi ordiniamo pertanto, fratelli, nel nome del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo, di tenervi lontani da ogni fratello che si comporta in maniera indisciplinata e non secondo la tradizione che ha ricevuto da noi.	6 But we strongly caution you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to draw yourselves away from every brother who is walking in disorder and not according to the tradition that they received from us.
7 Sapete infatti come dovete imitarci: poiché noi non abbiamo vissuto oziosamente fra voi,	7 For you yourselves know the manner in which you ought to imitate us. For we were not disorderly among you.
8 né abbiamo mangiato gratuitamente il pane di alcuno, ma abbiamo lavorato con fatica e sforzo notte e giorno per non essere di peso ad alcuno di voi.	8 Nor did we eat bread from anyone for free, but rather, we worked night and day, in hardship and weariness, so as not to be burdensome to you.
9 Non che non ne avessimo diritto, ma per darvi noi stessi come esempio da imitare.	9 It was not as if we had no authority, but this was so that we might present ourselves as an example to you, in order to imitate us.
10 E infatti quando eravamo presso di voi, vi demmo questa regola: chi non vuol lavorare neppure mangi.	10 Then, too, while we were with you, we insisted on this to you: that if anyone was not willing to work, neither should he eat.
11 Sentiamo infatti che alcuni fra di voi vivono disordinatamente, senza far nulla e in continua agitazione.	11 For we have heard that there are some among you who act disruptively, not working at all, but eagerly meddling.
12 A questi tali ordiniamo, esortandoli nel Signore Gesù Cristo, di mangiare il proprio pane lavorando in pace.	12 Now we charge those who act in this way, and we beg them in the Lord Jesus Christ, that they work in silence and eat their own bread.
13 Voi, fratelli, non lasciatevi scoraggiare nel fare il bene.	13 And you, brothers, do not grow weak in doing good.
14 Se qualcuno non obbedisce a quanto diciamo per lettera, prendete nota di lui e interrompete i rapporti, perché si vergogni;	14 But if anyone does not obey our word by this epistle, take note of him and do not keep company with him, so that he may be ashamed.
15 non trattatelo però come un nemico, ma ammonitelo come un fratello.	15 But do not be willing to consider him as an enemy; instead, correct him as a brother.
16 Il Signore della pace vi dia egli stesso la pace sempre e in ogni modo. Il Signore sia con tutti voi.	16 Then may the Lord of peace himself give you an everlasting peace, in every place. May the Lord be with all of you.
17 Questo saluto è di mia mano, di Paolo; ciò serve come segno di autenticazione per ogni lettera; io scrivo così.	17 The greeting of Paul with my own hand, which is the seal in every epistle. So do I write.
18 La grazia del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo sia con tutti voi.	18 May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
