1 Mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore:	1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
2 "Figlio dell'uomo, volgiti verso Gog nel paese di Magòg, principe capo di Mesech e Tubal, e profetizza contro di lui. Annunzierai:	2 “Son of man, set your face against Gog, the land of Magog, the prince of the head of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy about him.
3 Dice il Signore Dio: Eccomi contro di te Gog, principe capo di Mesech e Tubal,	3 And you shall say to him: Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, prince of the head of Meshech and Tubal.
4 io ti aggirerò, ti metterò ganci alle mascelle e ti farò uscire con tutto il tuo esercito, cavalli e cavalieri tutti ben equipaggiati, truppa immensa con scudi grandi e piccoli, e tutti muniti di spada.	4 And I will turn you around, and I will place a bit in your jaws. And I will lead you away, with all your army, the horses and the horsemen all clothed in armor, a great multitude, equipped with spears and light shields and swords,
5 La Persia, l'Etiopia e Put sono con loro, tutti con scudi ed elmi.	5 the Persians, the Ethiopians, and the Libyans with them, all with heavy shields and helmets,
6 Gomer e tutte le sue schiere, la gente di Togarmà, le estreme regioni del settentrione e tutte le loro forze, popoli numerosi sono con te.	6 Gomer, and all his companies, the house of Togarmah, the northern parts, and all his strength, and the many peoples with you.
7 Sta' pronto, fa' i preparativi insieme con tutta la moltitudine che si è radunata intorno a te: sii a mia disposizione.	7 Prepare and equip yourself, with all your multitude which has been assembled to you. And you shall be like a commandment to them.
8 Dopo molto tempo ti sarà dato l'ordine: sul finire degli anni tu andrai contro una nazione che è sfuggita alla spada, che in mezzo a molti popoli si è radunata sui monti d'Israele, rimasti lungamente deserti. Essa rimpatriò dalle genti e tutti abitano tranquilli.	8 After many days, you will be visited. At the end of the years, you will arrive at the land which was turned back by the sword, and which has been gathered from many peoples to the mountains of Israel that have been continually abandoned. These ones have been led away from the peoples, and all of them will be living confidently within it.
9 Tu vi salirai, vi giungerai come un uragano: sarai come un nembo che avvolge la terra, tu con tutte le tue schiere e con i popoli numerosi che sono con te.	9 But you will ascend and arrive like a tempest and like a cloud, so that you may cover the land, you and all your companies, and the many peoples with you.
10 Dice il Signore Dio: In quel giorno ti verranno in mente dei pensieri e concepirai progetti malvagi.	10 Thus says the Lord God: In that day, words will climb into your heart, and you will invent a most wicked plan.
11 Tu dirai: Andrò contro una terra indifesa, assalirò genti tranquille che si tengono sicure, che abitano tutte in luoghi senza mura, che non hanno né sbarre né porte,	11 And you will say: ‘I will ascend to the land without a wall. I will go to those who are resting and dwelling securely. All these live without a wall; they have no bars or gates.’
12 per depredare, saccheggiare, metter la mano su rovine ora ripopolate e sopra un popolo che si è riunito dalle nazioni, dedito agli armenti e ai propri affari, che abita al centro della terra.	12 Thus, you will plunder spoils, and you will take possession of prey, so that you may lay your hand upon those who had been abandoned, and afterwards were restored, and upon a people who were gathered away from the Gentiles, a people who have begun to possess, and to be the inhabitants of, the navel of the earth.
13 Saba, Dedan, i commercianti di Tarsis e tutti i suoi leoncelli ti domanderanno: Vieni per saccheggiare? Hai radunato la tua gente per venir a depredare e portar via argento e oro, per rapire armenti e averi e per fare grosso bottino?	13 Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, and all its lions will say to you: ‘Could you have arrived in order to purchase from the spoils? Behold, you have gathered your multitude in order to plunder a prey, so that you may take silver and gold, and carry away equipment and substance, and plunder immeasurable wealth.’
14 Perciò predici, figlio dell'uomo, e annunzia a Gog: Così dice il Signore Dio: In quel giorno, quando il mio popolo Israele dimorerà del tutto sicuro, tu ti leverai,	14 Because of this, son of man, prophesy, and you shall say to Gog: Thus says the Lord God: How is it that you do not know of that day, when my people, Israel, will be living in confidence?
15 verrai dalla tua dimora, dagli estremi confini del settentrione, tu e i popoli numerosi che sono con te, tutti su cavalli, una turba grande, un esercito potente.	15 And you will advance from your place, from the parts of the north, you and the many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great assembly and an immense army.
16 Verrai contro il mio popolo Israele, come un nembo per coprire la terra. Sul finire dei giorni io ti manderò sulla mia terra perché le genti mi conoscano quando per mezzo tuo, o Gog, manifesterò la mia santità davanti ai loro occhi.	16 And you will rise up over my people, Israel, like a cloud, so that you may cover the earth. In the latter days, you will be. And I will lead you over my own land, so that the Gentiles may know me, when I will have been sanctified in you, O Gog, before their eyes.
17 Così dice il Signore Dio: Non sei tu quegli di cui parlai nei tempi antichi per mezzo dei miei servi, i profeti d'Israele, i quali, in quei tempi e per molti anni, profetizzarono che io ti avrei mandato contro di loro?	17 Thus says the Lord God: Therefore, you are the one, about whom I spoke in the days of antiquity, by the hand of my servants the prophets of Israel, who prophesied in the days of those times that I would lead you over them.
18 Ma, quando Gog giungerà nel paese d'Israele - parola del Signore Dio - divamperà la mia collera.	18 And this shall be in that day, in the day of the advent of Gog over the land of Israel, says the Lord God: my indignation will rise up in my fury.
19 Nella mia gelosia e nel mio furore ardente io vi dichiaro: In quel giorno ci sarà un gran terremoto nel paese di Israele:	19 And I have spoken, in my zeal and in the fire of my wrath, that there shall be a great commotion over the land of Israel, in that day.
20 davanti a me tremeranno i pesci del mare, gli uccelli del cielo, gli animali selvatici, tutti i rettili che strisciano sul terreno e ogni uomo che è sulla terra: i monti franeranno, le rocce cadranno e ogni muro rovinerà al suolo.	20 And before my face there shall be stirred up: the fish of the sea, and the flying things of the air, and the beasts of the field, and every crawling thing that moves across the soil, and all the men who are upon the face of the earth. And the mountains will be overturned, and the hedges will fall, and every wall will fall in ruin to the ground.
21 Contro di lui, per tutti i monti d'Israele, chiamerò la spada. Parola del Signore Dio. La spada di ognuno di essi sarà contro il proprio fratello.	21 And I will call for the sword against him on all my mountains, says the Lord God. Each one’s sword will be directed toward his brother.
22 Farò giustizia di lui con la peste e con il sangue: farò piovere su di lui e le sue schiere, sopra i popoli numerosi che sono con lui, torrenti di pioggia e grandine, fuoco e zolfo.	22 And I will judge him by pestilence, and blood, and violent rainstorms, and immense hailstones. I will rain fire and brimstone upon him, and upon his army, and upon the many peoples who are with him.
23 Io mostrerò la mia potenza e la mia santità e mi rivelerò davanti a genti numerose e sapranno che io sono il Signore".	23 And I will be magnified and sanctified. And I will be known in the eyes of the many nations. And they shall know that I am the Lord.”
