NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 The portion falling to the tribe of the sons of Judah, by clans, was near the frontier of Edom, from thedesert of Zin southwards to Kadesh in the south.	1 Il territorio toccato in sorte alla tribù dei figli di Giuda, secondo le loro famiglie, era presso il confine di Edom, il deserto di Zin a sud, all'estremità meridionale.
2 Their southern frontier began at the tip of the Salt Sea, at the southerly bay;	2 Il loro confine meridionale andava dall'estremità del Mar Morto, dalla punta volta a sud,
3 it proceeded south of the Ascent of Scorpions, crossed Zin and came up to Kadesh-Barnea from thesouth; past Hezron, it went on to Addar and turned towards Karka;	3 si dirigeva a sud della salita di Akrabbim, attraversava Zin e risaliva a sud di Kades-Barnea; passando quindi per Chezron, saliva ad Addar e ripiegava verso Karkaa;
4 the frontier then went on to Azmon, came out at the Torrent of Egypt and reached as far as the sea.This is to be your southern frontier.	4 passava per Azmon, toccava il torrente d'Egitto e terminava sul mare. Questo era il loro confine meridionale.
5 The eastern frontier was the Salt Sea as far as the mouth of the Jordan.	5 Ad oriente il confine era costituito dal Mar Morto fino alla foce del Giordano. Il confine settentrionale andava da quella lingua di mare alla foce del Giordano,
6 The northern boundary began at the bay at the mouth of the Jordan. The boundary went up to Beth-Hoglah, passed north of Beth-ha-Arabah and went on to the Stone of Bohan son of Reuben.	6 risaliva a Bet-Ogla, andava a nord di Bet-Araba e saliva alla pietra di Boan, figlio di Ruben;
7 The boundary then went on to Debir from the Vale of Achor and turned north towards the stone circleopposite the Ascent of Adummim, which is south of the Torrent; the boundary went on to the Waters of En-Shemesh and came out at En-Rogel.	7 di là il confine saliva a Debir, per la valle di Acor, a nord ripiegava verso Ghelilot, di fronte alla salita di Adummim, che sta a sud del torrente; poi il confine passava alle acque di En-Semes e terminava ad En-Roghel.
8 It then went back up the Val ey of Hinnom, coming from the south to the flank of the Jebusite -- that is,Jerusalem -- and climbed to the crest of the mountain barring the Valley of Hinnom to the west, at the northernend of the Val ey of the Rephaim.	8 Risaliva poi alla valle di Ben-Innom, venendo a sud dal fianco dei Gebusei, cioè di Gerusalemme; risaliva poi sulla cima del monte che domina la valle di Innom ad ovest, ed è all'estremità della pianura dei Refaim, a nord.
9 From the mountain top, the boundary curved round to the spring of the Waters of Nephtoah, went on tothe towns of Mount Ephron and then turned towards Baalah -- that is, Kiriath-Jearim.	9 Dalla cresta del monte il confine volgeva verso la sorgente delle acque di Neftoach, per uscire verso il monte Efron, per rivolgersi poi verso Baala, che è Kiriat-Iearim.
10 From Baalah, the boundary curved westwards to the highlands of Seir, skirted the northern slope ofMount Jearim -- that is, Chesalon -- went down to Beth-Shemesh and through Timnah,	10 Da Baala il confine piegava ad ovest verso il monte Seir e passava sul pendio settentrionale del monte Iearim, cioè Chesalon; discendeva a Bet-Semes e passava per Timna;
11 came out on the northern flank of Ekron, turned towards Shikkeron and, passing through thehighlands of Baalah, came out at Jabneel, and reached as far as the sea.	11 raggiungeva quindi il pendio di Accaron, verso nord, si volgeva verso Siccaron, attraversava il monte Baala, raggiungeva Iabneel per terminare al mare.
12 The western boundary was the Great Sea itself. Such was the frontier surrounding the sons of Judah,by clans.	12 Il confine occidentale era la spiaggia del Mar Mediterraneo. Questi erano i confini dei figli di Giuda, nella loro estensione, secondo le loro famiglie.
13 Caleb son of Jephunneh was given a share within that of the sons of Judah, in accordance withYahweh's order to Joshua: Kiriath-Arba, the town of the father of Anak -- that is, Hebron.	13 A Caleb, figlio di Iefunne, fu data una porzione in mezzo ai figli di Giuda, secondo quanto aveva ordinato il Signore a Giosuè: Kiriat-Arba, padre di Anak, cioè Ebron.

17 The man who captured it was Othniel son of Kenaz, brother of Caleb, who gave him his daughterAchsah as wife.	17 La prese Otniel, figlio di Kenaz fratello di Caleb, che gli diede Acsa sua figlia in sposa.
18 When she arrived, he urged her to ask her father for arable land, but when she alighted from thedonkey and Caleb asked her, 'What is the matter?'	18 Quando essa venne condotta allo sposo, egli la persuase a chiedere a suo padre un campo. 19 she said to him, 'Grant me a blessing! As the land you have given me is the Negeb, give me springsof water too!' 63 The Jebusites, however, who lived in Jerusalem, the sons of Judah were unable to dispossess, andthe Jebusites stil live in Jerusalem today, side by side with the sons of Judah.	63 Però i figli di Giuda non riuscirono a scacciare i Gebusei che abitavano in Gerusalemme, perciò i Gebusei abitano anche oggi in Gerusalemme insieme con i figli di Giuda.
