1 'Then the kingdom of Heaven wil be like this: Ten wedding attendants took their lamps and went tomeet the bridegroom.	1 אז תדמה מלכות השמים לעשר עלמות אשר לקחו את נרותיהן ותצאנה לקראת החתן
2 Five of them were foolish and five were sensible:	2 חמש מהן היו חכמות וחמש כסילות
3 the foolish ones, though they took their lamps, took no oil with them,	3 הכסילות לקחו את הנרות ולא לקחו עמהן שמן
4 whereas the sensible ones took flasks of oil as wel as their lamps.	4 והחכמות לקחו שמן בכליהן ואת נרותיהן
5 The bridegroom was late, and they al grew drowsy and fell asleep.	5 וכאשר בשש החתן לבוא ותנמנה כלן ותרדמנה
6 But at midnight there was a cry, "Look! The bridegroom! Go out and meet him."	6 ויהי בחצות הלילה ותהי צוחה הנה החתן צאינה לקראתו
7 Then al those wedding attendants woke up and trimmed their lamps,	7 אז התעוררו כל העלמות ההן ותיטבנה את נרותיהן
8 and the foolish ones said to the sensible ones, "Give us some of your oil: our lamps are going out."	8 ותאמרנה הכסילות אל החכמות תנה לנו משמנכן כי יכבו נרותינו
9 But they replied, "There may not be enough for us and for you; you had better go to those who sel itand buy some for yourselves."	9 ותענינה החכמות לאמר לא כן פן יחסר לנו ולכן כי אם לכנה אל המוכרים וקנינה לכן
10 They had gone off to buy it when the bridegroom arrived. Those who were ready went in with him tothe wedding hall and the door was closed.	10 ויהי בעת לכתן לקנות ויבוא החתן והנכנות ללכת באו אתו אל החתנה ותסגר הדלת
11 The other attendants arrived later. "Lord, Lord," they said, "open the door for us."	11 ואחרי כן באו גם שאר העלמות ותאמרנה אדנינו אדנינו פתח לנו
12 But he replied, "In truth I tel you, I do not know you."	12 ויען ויאמר אמן אמר אני לכן לא ידעתי אתכן
13 So stay awake, because you do not know either the day or the hour.	13 לכן שקדו כי אינכם יודעים את היום ואת השעה אשר יבא בה בן האדם
14 'It is like a man about to go abroad who summoned his servants and entrusted his property to them.	14 כי כמו איש נסע למרחוק אשר קרא אל עבדיו וימסר להם את רכושו
15 To one he gave five talents, to another two, to a third one, each in proportion to his ability. Then heset out on his journey.	15 ויתן לזה חמש ככרים ולזה שתים ולזה אחת לכל איש ואיש כפי ערכו וימהר ויסע משם
16 The man who had received the five talents promptly went and traded with them and made five more.	16 וילך האיש הלקח חמש ככרים ויסחר בהן ויעש לו חמש ככרים אחרות
17 The man who had received two made two more in the same way.	17 וכן הלקח שתים גם הוא הרויח שתים אחרות
18 But the man who had received one went off and dug a hole in the ground and hid his master'smoney.	18 אך לקח האחת הלך ויחפר באדמה ויטמן את כסף אדניו
19 Now a long time afterwards, the master of those servants came back and went through his accountswith them.	19 ואחרי ימים רבים בא אדוני העבדים ההם ויעש חשבון עמהם
20 The man who had received the five talents came forward bringing five more. "Sir," he said, "youentrusted me with five talents; here are five more that I have made."	20 ויגש הלקח חמש הככרים ויבא חמש ככרים אחרות לאמר אדני חמש ככרים מסרת לי הנה חמש ככרים אחרות הרוחתי בהן
21 His master said to him, "Well done, good and trustworthy servant; you have shown you aretrustworthy in small things; I wil trust you with greater; come and join in your master's happiness."	21 ויאמר אליו אדניו כן העבד הטוב והנאמן כי במעט נאמן היית ועל הרבה אפקידך בוא אל שמחת אדניך
22 Next the man with the two talents came forward. "Sir," he said, "you entrusted me with two talents; here are two more that I have made."	22 ויגש גם לקח הככרים ויאמר אדני ככרים מסרת לי הנה ככרים הרוחתי בהן
23 His master said to him, "Well done, good and trustworthy servant; you have shown you aretrustworthy in small things; I wil trust you with greater; come and join in your master's happiness."	23 ויאמר אליו אדניו היטבת העבד הטוב והנאמן במזער נאמן היית ועל הרבה אפקידך בוא אל שמחת אדניך
24 Last came forward the man who had the single talent. "Sir," said he, "I had heard you were a hardman, reaping where you had not sown and gathering where you had not scattered;	24 ויגש גם הלקח את הככר האחת ויאמר אדני ידעתיך כי איש קשה אתה קצר באשר לא זרעת וכנס מאשר לא פזרת
25 so I was afraid, and I went off and hid your talent in the ground. Here it is; it was yours, you have itback."	25 ואירא ואלך ואטמן את ככרך באדמה ועתה הא לך את אשר לך
26 But his master answered him, "You wicked and lazy servant! So you knew that I reap where I havenot sown and gather where I have not scattered?	26 ויען אדניו ויאמר אליו העבד הרע והעצל אתה ידעת כי קצר אנכי באשר לא זרעתי וכנס מאשר לא פזרתי
27 Well then, you should have deposited my money with the bankers, and on my return I would have gotmy money back with interest.	27 לכן היה עליך לתת את כספי לשלחנים ואני בבואי הייתי לקח את אשר לי בתרבית
28 So now, take the talent from him and give it to the man who has the ten talents.	28 על כן שאו ממנו את הככר ותנו אל האיש אשר לו עשר הככרים
29 For to everyone who has wil be given more, and he wil have more than enough; but anyone whohas not, wil be deprived even of what he has.	29 כי כל איש אשר יש לו ינתן לו ויעדיף והאיש אשר אין לו גם את אשר לו יקח ממנו
30 As for this good-for-nothing servant, throw him into the darkness outside, where there will be weepingand grinding of teeth."	30 ואת עבד הבליעל השליכו אל החשך החיצון שם תהיה היללה וחרק השנים
31 'When the Son of man comes in his glory, escorted by al the angels, then he will take his seat on histhrone of glory.	31 והיה כי יבוא בן האדם בכבודו וכל המלאכים הקדשים עמו וישב על כסא כבודו
32 Al nations wil be assembled before him and he wil separate people one from another as theshepherd separates sheep from goats.	32 ונאספו לפניו כל הגוים והפריד בינותם כאשר יפריד הרעה את הכבשים מן העתודים
33 He will place the sheep on his right hand and the goats on his left.	33 והציב את הכבשים לימינו ואת העתודים לשמאלו
34 Then the King wil say to those on his right hand, "Come, you whom my Father has blessed, take asyour heritage the kingdom prepared for you since the foundation of the world.	34 אז יאמר המלך אל הנצבים לימינו באו ברוכי אבי ורשו את המלכות המוכנה לכם למן הוסד העולם
35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger andyou made me welcome,	35 כי רעב הייתי ותאכילני צמא הייתי ותשקוני גר הייתי ותאספוני
36 lacking clothes and you clothed me, sick and you visited me, in prison and you came to see me."	36 ערום ותכסוני חולה ותבקרוני במשמר הייתי ותבאו אלי
37 Then the upright will say to him in reply, "Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirstyand give you drink?	37 וענו הצדיקים ואמרו אדנינו מתי ראינוך רעב ונכלכלך או צמא ונשקה אותך
38 When did we see you a stranger and make you welcome, lacking clothes and clothe you?	38 ומתי ראינוך גר ונאספך או ערם ונכסך
39 When did we find you sick or in prison and go to see you?"	39 ומתי ראינוך חולה או במשמר ונבא אליך
40 And the King wil answer, "In truth I tel you, in so far as you did this to one of the least of thesebrothers of mine, you did it to me."	40 והמלך יענה ויאמר אליהם אמן אמר אני לכם מה שעשיתם לאחד מאחי הצעירים האלה לי עשיתם
41 Then he will say to those on his left hand, "Go away from me, with your curse upon you, to theeternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.	41 ואז יאמר גם אל הנצבים לשמאלו לכו מעלי אתם הארורים אל אש עולם המוכנה לשטן ולמלאכיו
42 For I was hungry and you never gave me food, I was thirsty and you never gave me anything to drink,	42 כי רעב הייתי ולא האכלתם אותי צמא הייתי ולא השקיתם אותי
43 I was a stranger and you never made me welcome, lacking clothes and you never clothed me, sickand in prison and you never visited me."	43 גר הייתי ולא אספתם אותי ערום ולא כסיתם אותי חולה ובמשמר ולא בקרתם אותי
44 Then it wil be their turn to ask, "Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty, a stranger or lackingclothes, sick or in prison, and did not come to your help?"	44 וענו גם הם ואמרו אדנינו מתי ראינוך רעב או צמא או גר או ערום או חולה או במשמר ולא שרתנוך
45 Then he will answer, "In truth I tel you, in so far as you neglected to do this to one of the least ofthese, you neglected to do it to me."	45 אז יענה אתם לאמר אמן אמר אני לכם מה שלא עשיתם לאחד מן הצעירים האלה גם לי לא עשיתם
46 And they wil go away to eternal punishment, and the upright to eternal life.'	46 וילכו אלה למעצבת עולם והצדיקים לחיי עולם
