NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 'Then the kingdom of Heaven wil be like this: Ten wedding attendants took their lamps and went tomeet the bridegroom.	1 «Entonces el Reino de los Cielos será semejante a diez vírgenes, que, con su lámpara en la mano, salieron al encuentro del novio.
2 Five of them were foolish and five were sensible:	2 Cinco de ellas eran necias, y cinco prudentes.
3 the foolish ones, though they took their lamps, took no oil with them,	3 Las necias, en efecto, al tomar sus lámparas, no se proveyeron de aceite;
4 whereas the sensible ones took flasks of oil as wel as their lamps.	4 las prudentes, en cambio, junto con sus lámparas tomaron aceite en las alcuzas.
5 The bridegroom was late, and they al grew drowsy and fell asleep.	5 Como el novio tardara, se adormilaron todas y se durmieron.
6 But at midnight there was a cry, "Look! The bridegroom! Go out and meet him."	6 Mas a media noche se oyó un grito: “¡Ya está aquí el novio! ¡Salid a su encuentro!”
7 Then al those wedding attendants woke up and trimmed their lamps,	7 Entonces todas aquellas vírgenes se levantaron y arreglaron sus lámparas.
8 and the foolish ones said to the sensible ones, "Give us some of your oil: our lamps are going out."	8 Y las necias dijeron a las prudentes: “Dadnos de vuestro aceite, que nuestras lámparas se apagan.”
9 But they replied, "There may not be enough for us and for you; you had better go to those who sel itand buy some for yourselves."	9 Pero las prudentes replicaron: “No, no sea que no alcance para nosotras y para vosotras; es mejor que vayáis donde los vendedores y os lo compréis.”
10 They had gone off to buy it when the bridegroom arrived. Those who were ready went in with him tothe wedding hall and the door was closed.	10 Mientras iban a comprarlo, llegó el novio, y las que estaban preparadas entraron con él al banquete de boda, y se cerró la puerta.
11 The other attendants arrived later. "Lord, Lord," they said, "open the door for us."	11 Más tarde llegaron las otras vírgenes diciendo: “¡Señor, señor, ábrenos!”
12 But he replied, "In truth I tel you, I do not know you."	12 Pero él respondió: “En verdad os digo que no os conozco.”
13 So stay awake, because you do not know either the day or the hour.	13 Velad, pues, porque no sabéis ni el día ni la hora.
14 'It is like a man about to go abroad who summoned his servants and entrusted his property to them.	14 «Es también como un hombre que, al ausentarse, llamó a sus siervos y les encomendó su hacienda:
15 To one he gave five talents, to another two, to a third one, each in proportion to his ability. Then heset out on his journey.	15 a uno dio cinco talentos, a otro dos y a otro uno, a cada cual según su capacidad; y se ausentó.
16 The man who had received the five talents promptly went and traded with them and made five more.	16 Enseguida, el que había recibido cinco talentos se puso a negociar con ellos y ganó otros cinco.
17 The man who had received two made two more in the same way.	17 Igualmente el que había recibido dos ganó otros dos.
18 But the man who had received one went off and dug a hole in the ground and hid his master'smoney.	18 En cambio el que había recibido uno se fue, cavó un hoyo en tierra y escondió el dinero de su señor.
19 Now a long time afterwards, the master of those servants came back and went through his accountswith them.	19 Al cabo de mucho tiempo, vuelve el señor de aquellos siervos y ajusta cuentas con ellos.
20 The man who had received the five talents came forward bringing five more. "Sir," he said, "youentrusted me with five talents; here are five more that I have made."	20 Llegándose el que había recibido cinco talentos, presentó otros cinco, diciendo: “Señor, cinco talentos me entregaste; aquí tienes otros cinco que he ganado.”
21 His master said to him, "Well done, good and trustworthy servant; you have shown you aretrustworthy in small things; I wil trust you with greater; come and join in your master's happiness."	21 Su señor le dijo: “¡Bien, siervo bueno y fiel!; en lo poco has sido fiel, al frente de lo mucho te pondré; entra en el gozo de tu señor.”
22 Next the man with the two talents came forward. "Sir," he said, "you entrusted me with two talents; here are two more that I have made."	22 Llegándose también el de los dos talentos dijo: “Señor, dos talentos me entregaste; aquí tienes otros dos que he ganado.”
23 His master said to him, "Well done, good and trustworthy servant; you have shown you aretrustworthy in small things; I wil trust you with greater; come and join in your master's happiness."	23 Su señor le dijo: “¡Bien, siervo bueno y fiel!; en lo poco has sido fiel, al frente de lo mucho te pondré; entra en el gozo de tu señor.”
24 Last came forward the man who had the single talent. "Sir," said he, "I had heard you were a hardman, reaping where you had not sown and gathering where you had not scattered;	24 Llegándose también el que había recibido un talento dijo: “Señor, sé que eres un hombre duro, que cosechas donde no sembraste y recoges donde no esparciste.
25 so I was afraid, and I went off and hid your talent in the ground. Here it is; it was yours, you have itback."	25 Por eso me dio miedo, y fui y escondí en tierra tu talento. Mira, aquí tienes lo que es tuyo.”
26 But his master answered him, "You wicked and lazy servant! So you knew that I reap where I havenot sown and gather where I have not scattered?	26 Mas su señor le respondió: “Siervo malo y perezoso, sabías que yo cosecho donde no sembré y recojo donde no esparcí;
27 Well then, you should have deposited my money with the bankers, and on my return I would have gotmy money back with interest.	27 debías, pues, haber entregado mi dinero a los banqueros, y así, al volver yo, habría cobrado lo mío con los intereses.
28 So now, take the talent from him and give it to the man who has the ten talents.	28 Quitadle, por tanto, su talento y dádselo al que tiene los diez talentos.
29 For to everyone who has wil be given more, and he wil have more than enough; but anyone whohas not, wil be deprived even of what he has.	29 Porque a todo el que tiene, se le dará y le sobrará; pero al que no tiene, aun lo que tiene se le quitará.
30 As for this good-for-nothing servant, throw him into the darkness outside, where there will be weepingand grinding of teeth."	30 Y a ese siervo inútil, echadle a las tinieblas de fuera. Allí será el llanto y el rechinar de dientes.”
31 'When the Son of man comes in his glory, escorted by al the angels, then he will take his seat on histhrone of glory.	31 «Cuando el Hijo del hombre venga en su gloria acompañado de todos sus ángeles, entonces se sentará en su trono de gloria.
32 Al nations wil be assembled before him and he wil separate people one from another as theshepherd separates sheep from goats.	32 Serán congregadas delante de él todas las naciones, y él separará a los unos de los otros, como el pastor separa las ovejas de los cabritos.
33 He will place the sheep on his right hand and the goats on his left.	33 Pondrá las ovejas a su derecha, y los cabritos a su izquierda.
34 Then the King wil say to those on his right hand, "Come, you whom my Father has blessed, take asyour heritage the kingdom prepared for you since the foundation of the world.	34 Entonces dirá el Rey a los de su derecha: “Venid, benditos de mi Padre, recibid la herencia del Reino preparado para vosotros desde la creación del mundo.
35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger andyou made me welcome,	35 Porque tuve hambre, y me disteis de comer; tuve sed, y me disteis de beber; era forastero, y me acogisteis;
36 lacking clothes and you clothed me, sick and you visited me, in prison and you came to see me."	36 estaba desnudo, y me vestisteis; enfermo, y me visitasteis; en la cárcel, y vinisteis a verme.”
37 Then the upright will say to him in reply, "Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirstyand give you drink?	37 Entonces los justos le responderán: “Señor, ¿cuándo te vimos hambriento, y te dimos de comer; o sediento, y te dimos de beber?
38 When did we see you a stranger and make you welcome, lacking clothes and clothe you?	38 ¿Cuándo te vimos forastero, y te acogimos; o desnudo, y te vestimos?
39 When did we find you sick or in prison and go to see you?"	39 ¿Cuándo te vimos enfermo o en la cárcel, y fuimos a verte?”
40 And the King wil answer, "In truth I tel you, in so far as you did this to one of the least of thesebrothers of mine, you did it to me."	40 Y el Rey les dirá: “En verdad os digo que cuanto hicisteis a unos de estos hermanos míos más pequeños, a mí me lo hicisteis.”
41 Then he will say to those on his left hand, "Go away from me, with your curse upon you, to theeternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.	41 Entonces dirá también a los de su izquierda: “Apartaos de mí, malditos, al fuego eterno preparado para el Diablo y sus ángeles.
42 For I was hungry and you never gave me food, I was thirsty and you never gave me anything to drink,	42 Porque tuve hambre, y no me disteis de comer; tuve sed, y no me disteis de beber;
43 I was a stranger and you never made me welcome, lacking clothes and you never clothed me, sickand in prison and you never visited me."	43 era forastero, y no me acogisteis; estaba desnudo, y no me vestisteis; enfermo y en la cárcel, y no me visitasteis.”
44 Then it wil be their turn to ask, "Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty, a stranger or lackingclothes, sick or in prison, and did not come to your help?"	44 Entonces dirán también éstos: “Señor, ¿cuándo te vimos hambriento o sediento o forastero o desnudo o enfermo o en la cárcel, y no te asistimos?”
45 Then he will answer, "In truth I tel you, in so far as you neglected to do this to one of the least ofthese, you neglected to do it to me."	45 Y él entonces les responderá: “En verdad os digo que cuanto dejasteis de hacer con uno de estos más pequeños, también conmigo dejasteis de hacerlo.”
46 And they wil go away to eternal punishment, and the upright to eternal life.'	46 E irán éstos a un castigo eterno, y los justos a una vida eterna».
