NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 'Then the kingdom of Heaven wil be like this: Ten wedding attendants took their lamps and went tomeet the bridegroom.	1 "Alors il en sera du Royaume des Cieux comme de dix vierges qui s'en allèrent, munies de leurslampes, à la rencontre de l'époux.
2 Five of them were foolish and five were sensible:	2 Or cinq d'entre elles étaient sottes et cinq étaient sensées.
3 the foolish ones, though they took their lamps, took no oil with them,	3 Les sottes, en effet, prirent leurs lampes, mais sans se munir d'huile;
4 whereas the sensible ones took flasks of oil as wel as their lamps.	4 tandis que les sensées, en même temps que leurs lampes, prirent de l'huile dans les fioles.
5 The bridegroom was late, and they al grew drowsy and fell asleep.	5 Comme l'époux se faisait attendre, elles s'assoupirent toutes et s'endormirent.
6 But at midnight there was a cry, "Look! The bridegroom! Go out and meet him."	6 Mais à minuit un cri retentit: Voici l'époux! sortez à sa rencontre!
7 Then al those wedding attendants woke up and trimmed their lamps,	7 Alors toutes ces vierges se réveillèrent et apprêtèrent leurs lampes.
8 and the foolish ones said to the sensible ones, "Give us some of your oil: our lamps are going out."	8 Et les sottes de dire aux sensées: Donnez-nous de votre huile, car nos lampes s'éteignent.
9 But they replied, "There may not be enough for us and for you; you had better go to those who sel itand buy some for yourselves."	9 Mais celles-ci leur répondirent: Il n'y en aurait sans doute pas assez pour nous et pour vous; allezplutôt chez les marchands et achetez-en pour vous.
10 They had gone off to buy it when the bridegroom arrived. Those who were ready went in with him tothe wedding hall and the door was closed.	10 Elles étaient parties en acheter quand arriva l'époux: celles qui étaient prêtes entrèrent avec luidans la salle des noces, et la porte se referma.
11 The other attendants arrived later. "Lord, Lord," they said, "open the door for us."	11 Finalement les autres vierges arrivèrent aussi et dirent: Seigneur, Seigneur, ouvre-nous!
12 But he replied, "In truth I tel you, I do not know you."	12 Mais il répondit: En vérité je vous le dis, je ne vous connais pas!
13 So stay awake, because you do not know either the day or the hour.	13 Veillez donc, car vous ne savez ni le jour ni l'heure.
14 'It is like a man about to go abroad who summoned his servants and entrusted his property to them.	14 "C'est comme un homme qui, partant en voyage, appela ses serviteurs et leur remit sa fortune.
15 To one he gave five talents, to another two, to a third one, each in proportion to his ability. Then heset out on his journey.	15 A l'un il donna cinq talents, deux à un autre, un seul à un troisième, à chacun selon ses capacités,et puis il partit. Aussitôt
16 The man who had received the five talents promptly went and traded with them and made five more.	16 celui qui avait reçu les cinq talents alla les faire produire et en gagna cinq autres.
17 The man who had received two made two more in the same way.	17 De même celui qui en avait reçu deux en gagna deux autres.
18 But the man who had received one went off and dug a hole in the ground and hid his master'smoney.	18 Mais celui qui n'en avait reçu qu'un s'en alla faire un trou en terre et enfouit l'argent de sonmaître.
19 Now a long time afterwards, the master of those servants came back and went through his accountswith them.	19 Après un long temps, le maître de ces serviteurs arrive et il règle ses comptes avec eux.
20 The man who had received the five talents came forward bringing five more. "Sir," he said, "youentrusted me with five talents; here are five more that I have made."	20 Celui qui avait reçu les cinq talents s'avança et présenta cinq autres talents: Seigneur, dit-il, tum'as remis cinq talents: voici cinq autres talents que j'ai gagnés. --
21 His master said to him, "Well done, good and trustworthy servant; you have shown you aretrustworthy in small things; I wil trust you with greater; come and join in your master's happiness."	21 C'est bien, serviteur bon et fidèle, lui dit son maître, en peu de choses tu as été fidèle, surbeaucoup je t'établirai; entre dans la joie de ton seigneur.
22 Next the man with the two talents came forward. "Sir," he said, "you entrusted me with two talents; here are two more that I have made."	22 Vint ensuite celui qui avait reçu deux talents: Seigneur, dit-il, tu m'as remis deux talents: voicideux autres talents que j'ai gagnés. --
23 His master said to him, "Well done, good and trustworthy servant; you have shown you aretrustworthy in small things; I wil trust you with greater; come and join in your master's happiness."	23 C'est bien, serviteur bon et fidèle, lui dit son maître, en peu de choses tu as été fidèle, surbeaucoup je t'établirai; entre dans la joie de ton seigneur.
24 Last came forward the man who had the single talent. "Sir," said he, "I had heard you were a hardman, reaping where you had not sown and gathering where you had not scattered;	24 Vint enfin celui qui détenait un seul talent: Seigneur, dit-il, j'ai appris à te connaître pour unhomme âpre au gain: tu moissonnes où tu n'as point semé, et tu ramasses où tu n'as rien répandu.
25 so I was afraid, and I went off and hid your talent in the ground. Here it is; it was yours, you have itback."	25 Aussi, pris de peur, je suis allé enfouir ton talent dans la terre: le voici, tu as ton bien.
26 But his master answered him, "You wicked and lazy servant! So you knew that I reap where I havenot sown and gather where I have not scattered?	26 Mais son maître lui répondit: Serviteur mauvais et paresseux! tu savais que je moissonne où jen'ai pas semé, et que je ramasse où je n'ai rien répandu?
27 Well then, you should have deposited my money with the bankers, and on my return I would have gotmy money back with interest.	27 Eh bien! tu aurais dû placer mon argent chez les banquiers, et à mon retour j'aurais recouvrémon bien avec un intérêt.
28 So now, take the talent from him and give it to the man who has the ten talents.	28 Enlevez-lui donc son talent et donnez-le à celui qui a les dix talents.
29 For to everyone who has wil be given more, and he wil have more than enough; but anyone whohas not, wil be deprived even of what he has.	29 Car à tout homme qui a, l'on donnera et il aura du surplus; mais à celui qui n'a pas, on enlèverace qu'il a.
30 As for this good-for-nothing servant, throw him into the darkness outside, where there will be weepingand grinding of teeth."	30 Et ce propre-à-rien de serviteur, jetez-le dehors, dans les ténèbres: là seront les pleurs et lesgrincements de dents.
31 'When the Son of man comes in his glory, escorted by al the angels, then he will take his seat on histhrone of glory.	31 "Quand le Fils de l'homme viendra dans sa gloire, escorté de tous les anges, alors il prendraplace sur son trône de gloire.
32 Al nations wil be assembled before him and he wil separate people one from another as theshepherd separates sheep from goats.	32 Devant lui seront rassemblées toutes les nations, et il séparera les gens les uns des autres, toutcomme le berger sépare les brebis des boucs.
33 He will place the sheep on his right hand and the goats on his left.	33 Il placera les brebis à sa droite, et les boucs à sa gauche.
34 Then the King wil say to those on his right hand, "Come, you whom my Father has blessed, take asyour heritage the kingdom prepared for you since the foundation of the world.	34 Alors le Roi dira à ceux de droite: Venez, les bénis de mon Père, recevez en héritage leRoyaume qui vous a été préparé depuis la fondation du monde.
35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger andyou made me welcome,	35 Car j'ai eu faim et vous m'avez donné à manger, j'ai eu soif et vous m'avez donné à boire, j'étaisun étranger et vous m'avez accueilli,
36 lacking clothes and you clothed me, sick and you visited me, in prison and you came to see me."	36 nu et vous m'avez vêtu, malade et vous m'avez visité, prisonnier et vous êtes venus me voir.
37 Then the upright will say to him in reply, "Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirstyand give you drink?	37 Alors les justes lui répondront: Seigneur, quand nous est-il arrivé de te voir affamé et de tenourrir, assoiffé et de te désaltérer,
38 When did we see you a stranger and make you welcome, lacking clothes and clothe you?	38 étranger et de t'accueillir, nu et de te vêtir,
39 When did we find you sick or in prison and go to see you?"	39 malade ou prisonnier et de venir te voir?
40 And the King wil answer, "In truth I tel you, in so far as you did this to one of the least of thesebrothers of mine, you did it to me."	40 Et le Roi leur fera cette réponse: En vérité je vous le dis, dans la mesure où vous l'avez fait à l'unde ces plus petits de mes frères, c'est à moi que vous l'avez fait.
41 Then he will say to those on his left hand, "Go away from me, with your curse upon you, to theeternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.	41 Alors il dira encore à ceux de gauche: Allez loin de moi, maudits, dans le feu éternel qui a étépréparé pour le diable et ses anges.
42 For I was hungry and you never gave me food, I was thirsty and you never gave me anything to drink,	42 Car j'ai eu faim et vous ne m'avez pas donné à manger, j'ai eu soif et vous ne m'avez pas donné àboire,
43 I was a stranger and you never made me welcome, lacking clothes and you never clothed me, sickand in prison and you never visited me."	43 j'étais un étranger et vous ne m'avez pas accueilli, nu et vous ne m'avez pas vêtu, malade etprisonnier et vous ne m'avez pas visité.
44 Then it wil be their turn to ask, "Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty, a stranger or lackingclothes, sick or in prison, and did not come to your help?"	44 Alors ceux-ci lui demanderont à leur tour: Seigneur, quand nous est-il arrivé de te voir affaméou assoiffé, étranger ou nu, malade ou prisonnier, et de ne te point secourir?
45 Then he will answer, "In truth I tel you, in so far as you neglected to do this to one of the least ofthese, you neglected to do it to me."	45 Alors il leur répondra: En vérité je vous le dis, dans la mesure où vous ne l'avez pas fait à l'un deces plus petits, à moi non plus vous ne l'avez pas fait.
46 And they wil go away to eternal punishment, and the upright to eternal life.'	46 Et ils s'en iront, ceux-ci à une peine éternelle, et les justes à une vie éternelle."
