NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses, in the desert of Sinai, in the Tent of Meeting, on the first day of the secondmonth, in the second year after the exodus from Egypt, and said:	1 وكلم الرب موسى في برية سيناء في خيمة الاجتماع في اول الشهر الثاني في السنة الثانية لخروجهم من ارض مصر قائلا
2 'Take a census of the whole community of Israelites by clans and families, taking a count of the namesof al the males, head by head.	2 احصوا كل جماعة بني اسرائيل بعشائرهم وبيوت آبائهم بعدد الاسماء كل ذكر براسه
3 You and Aaron wil register al those in Israel, twenty years of age and over, fit to bear arms, companyby company;	3 من ابن عشرين سنة فصاعدا كل خارج للحرب في اسرائيل. تحسبهم انت وهرون حسب اجنادهم.
4 you wil have one man from each tribe, the head of his family, to help you.	4 ويكون معكما رجل لكل سبط. رجل هو راس لبيت آبائه.
5 'These are the names of those who must help you: For Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur.	5 وهذه اسماء الرجال الذين يقفون معكما. لرأوبين أليصور بن شديئور.
6 For Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai.	6 لشمعون شلوميئيل بن صور يشدّاي.
7 For Judah, Nahshon son of Amminadab.	7 ليهوذا نحشون بن عميناداب.
8 For Issachar, Nethanel son of Zuar.	8 ليساكر نثنائيل بن صوغر.
9 For Zebulun, Eliab son of Helon.	9 لزبولون أليآب بن حيلون.
10 Of the sons of Joseph: for Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud; for Manasseh, Gamaliel son ofPedahzur.	10 لابني يوسف لافرايم أليشمع بن عميهود ولمنسّى جمليئيل بن فدهصور.
11 For Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni.	11 لبنيامين ابيدن بن جدعوني.
12 For Dan, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai.	12 لدان أخيعزر بن عميشدّاي.
13 For Asher, Pagiel son of Ochran.	13 لأشير فجعيئيل بن عكرن.
14 For Gad, Eliasaph son of Reuel.	14 لجاد ألياساف بن دعوئيل.
15 For Naphtali, Ahira son of Enan.'	15 لنفتالي اخيرع بن عينن.
16 These were men of repute in the community; they were the leaders of their ancestral tribes, the headsof Israel's thousands.	16 هؤلاء هم مشاهير الجماعة رؤساء اسباط آبائهم. رؤوس الوف اسرائيل.
17 Moses and Aaron took these men who had been named	17 فاخذ موسى وهرون هؤلاء الرجال الذين تعيّنوا باسمائهم.
18 and on the first day of the second month they mustered the whole community. The Israelitesestablished their pedigrees by clans and families, and one by one the names of all men of twenty years and overwere recorded.	18 وجمعا كل الجماعة في اول الشهر الثاني فانتسبوا الى عشائرهم وبيوت آبائهم بعدد الاسماء من ابن عشرين سنة فصاعدا برؤوسهم
19 As Yahweh had ordered, Moses registered them in the desert of Sinai.	19 كما امر الرب موسى. فعدّهم في برية سيناء
20 Once the pedigrees of the descendants of Reuben, Israel's first-born, had been established by clansand families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	20 فكان بنو رأوبين بكر اسرائيل تواليدهم حسب عشائرهم وبيوت آبائهم بعدد الاسماء برؤوسهم كل ذكر من ابن عشرين سنة فصاعدا كل خارج للحرب
21 The total of these for the tribe of Reuben was forty-six thousand five hundred.	21 كان المعدودون منهم لسبط رأوبين ستة واربعين الفا وخمس مئة
22 Once the pedigrees of Simeon's descendants had been established by clans and families, the namesof al the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	22 بنو شمعون تواليدهم حسب عشائرهم وبيوت آبائهم المعدودون منهم بعدد الاسماء برؤوسهم كل ذكر من ابن عشرين سنة فصاعدا كل خارج للحرب
23 The total of these for the tribe of Simeon was fifty-nine thousand three hundred.	23 المعدودون منهم لسبط شمعون تسعة وخمسون الفا وثلاث مئة
24 Once the pedigrees of Gad's descendants had been established by clans and families, the names ofal the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	24 بنو جاد تواليدهم حسب عشائرهم وبيوت آبائهم بعدد الاسماء من ابن عشرين سنة فصاعدا كل خارج للحرب
25 The total of these for the tribe of Gad was forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty.	25 المعدودون منهم لسبط جاد خمسة واربعون الفا وست مئة وخمسون
26 Once the pedigrees of Judah's descendants had been established by clans and families, the namesof al the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	26 بنو يهوذا تواليدهم حسب عشائرهم وبيوت آبائهم بعدد الاسماء من ابن عشرين سنة فصاعدا كل خارج للحرب
27 The total of these for the tribe of Judah was seventy-four thousand six hundred.	27 المعدودون منهم لسبط يهوذا اربعة وسبعون الفا وست مئة
28 Once the pedigrees of Issachar's descendants had been established by clans and families, thenames of al the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	28 بنو يسّاكر تواليدهم حسب عشائرهم وبيوت آبائهم بعدد الاسماء من ابن عشرين سنة فصاعدا كل خارج للحرب
29 The total of these for the tribe of Issachar was fifty-four thousand four hundred.	29 المعدودون منهم لسبط يسّاكر اربعة وخمسون الفا واربع مئة
30 Once the pedigrees of Zebulun's descendants had been established by clans and families, the namesof al the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	30 بنو زبولون تواليدهم حسب عشائرهم وبيوت آبائهم بعدد الاسماء من ابن عشرين سنة فصاعدا كل خارج للحرب
31 The total of these for the tribe of Zebulun was fifty-seven thousand four hundred.	31 المعدودون منهم لسبط زبولون سبعة وخمسون الفا واربع مئة
32 As regards the descendants of Joseph: once the pedigrees of Ephraim's descendants had beenestablished by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, wererecorded one by one.	32 بنو يوسف بنو افرايم تواليدهم حسب عشائرهم وبيوت آبائهم بعدد الاسماء من ابن عشرين سنة فصاعدا كل خارج للحرب
33 The total of these for the tribe of Ephraim was forty thousand five hundred.	33 المعدودون منهم لسبط افرايم اربعون الفا وخمس مئة
34 Once the pedigrees of Manasseh's descendants had been established by clans and families, thenames of al the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	34 بنو منسّى تواليدهم حسب عشائرهم وبيوت آبائهم بعدد الاسماء من ابن عشرين سنة فصاعدا كل خارج للحرب
35 The total of these for the tribe of Manasseh was thirty-two thousand two hundred.	35 المعدودون منهم لسبط منسّى اثنان وثلاثون الفا ومئتان
36 Once the pedigrees of Benjamin's descendants had been established by clans and families, thenames of al the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	36 بنو بنيامين تواليدهم حسب عشائرهم وبيوت آبائهم بعدد الاسماء من ابن عشرين سنة فصاعدا كل خارج للحرب
37 The total of these for the tribe of Benjamin was thirty-five thousand four hundred.	37 المعدودون منهم لسبط بنيامين خمسة وثلاثون الفا واربع مئة
38 Once the pedigrees of Dan's descendants had been established by clans and families, the names ofal the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	38 بنو دان تواليدهم حسب عشائرهم وبيوت آبائهم بعدد الاسماء من ابن عشرين سنة فصاعدا كل خارج للحرب
39 The total of these for the tribe of Dan was sixty-two thousand seven hundred.	39 المعدودون منهم لسبط دان اثنان وستون الفا وسبع مئة
40 Once the pedigrees of Asher's descendants had been established by clans and families, the namesof al the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	40 بنو اشير تواليدهم حسب عشائرهم وبيوت آبائهم بعدد الاسماء من ابن عشرين سنة فصاعدا كل خارج للحرب
41 The total of these for the tribe of Asher was forty-one thousand five hundred.	41 المعدودون منهم لسبط اشير واحد واربعون الفا وخمس مئة
42 Once the pedigrees of Naphtali's descendants had been established by clans and families, thenames of al the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	42 بنو نفتالي تواليدهم حسب عشائرهم وبيوت آبائهم بعدد الاسماء من ابن عشرين سنة فصاعدا كل خارج للحرب
43 The total of these for the tribe of Naphtali was fifty-three thousand four hundred.	43 المعدودون منهم لسبط نفتالي ثلاثة وخمسون الفا واربع مئة
44 Such were the men registered by Moses, Aaron and the leaders of Israel, of whom there were twelve,each representing his family.	44 هؤلاء هم المعدودون الذين عدّهم موسى وهرون ورؤساء اسرائيل اثنا عشر رجلا رجل واحد لبيت آبائه
45 Al the Israelites of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were counted by families.	45 فكان جميع المعدودين من بني اسرائيل حسب بيوت آبائهم من ابن عشرين سنة فصاعدا كل خارج للحرب في اسرائيل
46 Altogether, the total came to six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty.	46 كان جميع المعدودين ست مئة الف وثلاثة آلاف وخمس مئة وخمسين.
47 But the Levites and their tribes were not included in the count.	47 واما اللاويون حسب سبط آبائهم فلم يعدّوا بينهم
48 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	48 اذ كلم الرب موسى قائلا
49 'Do not, however, take a census of the Levites, or register them with the other Israelites,	49 اما سبط لاوي فلا تحسبه ولا تعدّه بين بني اسرائيل.
50 but enrol the Levites to take charge of the Dwel ing where the Testimony is and of al its furnishingsand belongings. They must carry the Dwel ing and al its furnishings; they must look after the Dwel ing and pitchtheir camp round it.	50 بل وكّل اللاويين على مسكن الشهادة وعلى جميع امتعته وعلى كل ما له. هم يحملون المسكن وكل امتعته وهم يخدمونه وحول المسكن ينزلون.
51 Whenever the Dwelling is moved, the Levites will dismantle it; whenever the Dwel ing stops for thenight, the Levites wil erect it. Any unauthorised person coming near it will be put to death.	51 فعند ارتحال المسكن ينزله اللاويون وعند نزول المسكن يقيمه اللاويون والاجنبيّ الذي يقترب يقتل.
52 The Israelites wil pitch their tents, each in their own encampment and by their own standard,company by company,	52 وينزل بنو اسرائيل كلّ في محلته وكلّ عند رايته باجنادهم.
53 but the Levites wil pitch their tents round the Dwel ing where the Testimony is. In this way Retributionwil be kept from fal ing on the whole community of Israelites, and the Levites wil keep charge of the Dwel ing ofthe Testimony.'	53 واما اللاويون فينزلون حول مسكن الشهادة لكي لا يكون سخط على جماعة بني اسرائيل فيحفظ اللاويون شعائر مسكن الشهادة.
54 The Israelites did exactly as Yahweh had ordered Moses. They did as he said.	54 ففعل بنو اسرائيل حسب كل ما امر الرب موسى. كذلك فعلوا
