2 'Take a census of the whole community of Israelites by clans and families, taking a count of the namesof al the males, head by head.	2 Fate il novero di tutti quanti i maschi di tutta la moltitudine de' figliuoli d'Israelesecondo le stirpi, e le case, e i nomi di ciascheduno:
3 You and Aaron wil register al those in Israel, twenty years of age and over, fit to bear arms, companyby company;	3 Tu e Aronne farete la rassegna di tutti gli uomini forti d'Israele da' venti anni in su,divisi nelle loro schiere.
4 you wil have one man from each tribe, the head of his family, to help you.	4 E saranno con voi i principi delle tribù, e delle famiglie secondo la loro agnazione.

16 These were men of repute in the community; they were the leaders of their ancestral tribes, the headsof Israel's thousands.	16 Questi i nobilissimi principi della nazione secondo le loro tribù, e famiglie, e capidell'esercito d'Israele:

19 As Yahweh had ordered, Moses registered them in the desert of Sinai.	19 Come il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè. E fu fatto il novero nel deserto del Sinai.
20 Once the pedigrees of the descendants of Reuben, Israel's first-born, had been established by clansand families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	20 Della tribù di Ruben primogenito d'Israele tutti i maschi da' vent'anni in su atti allaguerra secondo la loro genealogia, e famiglia, e casa, testa per testa, (furon contati)

22 Once the pedigrees of Simeon's descendants had been established by clans and families, the namesof al the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	22 De' discendenti di Simeon tutti maschi da' venti anni in su atti alla guerra secondo la lorogenealogia, e famiglia, e casa, testa per testa, co' nomi loro furon contati
23 The total of these for the tribe of Simeon was fifty-nine thousand three hundred.	23 Cinquanta nove mila trecento.
24 Once the pedigrees of Gad's descendants had been established by clans and families, the names ofal the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	24 De' discendenti di Gad tutti quelli che erano atti alla guerra secondo la loro genealogia, efamiglia, e casa col proprio nome di ciascheduno, furon contati dai venti anni in su,

44 Such were the men registered by Moses, Aaron and the leaders of Israel, of whom there were twelve,each representing his family.	44 Questi sono quelli che furon contati da Mosè e da Aronne, e da' dodici principi d'Israele,ciascuno secondo la propria casa e famiglia.
45 Al the Israelites of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were counted by families.	45 E tutto il numero de' figliuoli d'Israele da' vent'anni in su atti alla guerra noveratisecondo le loro case, e famiglie fu
46 Altogether, the total came to six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty.	46 Secento tre mila cinquecento cinquanta uomini.
47 But the Levites and their tribes were not included in the count.	47 Ma i Leviti non furono contati con questi nelle famiglie della loro tribù.
48 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	48 Perché il Signore parlò a Mosè, e disse:
49 'Do not, however, take a census of the Levites, or register them with the other Israelites,	49 Non registrare la tribù di Levi, e non la mettere in conto co' figliuoli d'Israele:
50 but enrol the Levites to take charge of the Dwel ing where the Testimony is and of al its furnishingsand belongings. They must carry the Dwel ing and al its furnishings; they must look after the Dwel ing and pitchtheir camp round it.	50 Ma da' ad essi la soprintendenza del tabernacolo del testimonio, e di tutti i suoi vasi, edi tutto quello che spetta alle cerimonie. Ei porteranno il tabernacolo, e tutte le cose,che servono ad uso di esso, e saranno occupati nel ministero, e avranno il loro accampamentoall'intorno del tabernacolo.
51 Whenever the Dwelling is moved, the Levites will dismantle it; whenever the Dwel ing stops for thenight, the Levites wil erect it. Any unauthorised person coming near it will be put to death.	51 Quando dovrà farsi viaggio, i Leviti disfaranno il tabernacolo: quando dovrà posarsi ilcampo, essi lo erigeranno. Se alcuno fuori di essi vi si accosterà, sarà ucciso.
52 The Israelites wil pitch their tents, each in their own encampment and by their own standard,company by company,	52 E i figliuoli d'Israele pianteranno il loro campo divisi nelle loro squadre, e compagnie, eordinanze.
53 but the Levites wil pitch their tents round the Dwel ing where the Testimony is. In this way Retributionwil be kept from fal ing on the whole community of Israelites, and the Levites wil keep charge of the Dwel ing ofthe Testimony.'	53 Ma i Leviti pianteranno le loro tende all'intorno del tabernacolo, affinché io non abbia amandar l'ira mia sopra la moltitudine de' figliuoli d'Israele, ed essi veglieranno a guardiadel tabernacolo del testimonio.
54 The Israelites did exactly as Yahweh had ordered Moses. They did as he said.	54 Fecero adunque i figliuoli d'Israele tutto quello che il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè.
