NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses, in the desert of Sinai, in the Tent of Meeting, on the first day of the secondmonth, in the second year after the exodus from Egypt, and said:	1 En el segundo año después de la salida de Egipto, el primer día del segundo mes, el Señor dijo a Moisés en el desierto del Sinaí, en la Carpa del Encuentro:
2 'Take a census of the whole community of Israelites by clans and families, taking a count of the namesof al the males, head by head.	2 Hagan un censo de toda la comunidad de los israelitas, por clanes y por familias, anotando uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones,
3 You and Aaron wil register al those in Israel, twenty years of age and over, fit to bear arms, companyby company;	3 Tú y Aarón registrarán a todos los hombres de Israel que son aptos para la guerra, es decir, a los que tienen más de veinte años, agrupados por regimientos.
4 you wil have one man from each tribe, the head of his family, to help you.	4 Para ello contarán con la ayuda de un jefe de familia por cada tribu.
5 'These are the names of those who must help you: For Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur.	5 Los nombres de las personas que les ayudarán son los siguientes: Por la tribu de Rubén, Elisur, hijo de Sedeur;
6 For Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai.	6 por la tribu de Simeón, Selumiel, hijo de Surisadai;
7 For Judah, Nahshon son of Amminadab.	7 por la tribu de Judá, Najsón, hijo de Aminadab;

16 These were men of repute in the community; they were the leaders of their ancestral tribes, the headsof Israel's thousands.	16 Estos eran los representantes de la comunidad, los jefes de las tribus de sus antepasados, los jefes de los clanes de Israel.

The Israelitesestablished their pedigrees by clans and families, and one by one the names of all men of twenty years and overwere recorded.	18 y convocaron a la comunidad el primer día del segundo mes. 19 As Yahweh had ordered, Moses registered them in the desert of Sinai.	19 Así los registró Moisés en el desierto del Sinaí, como el Señor se lo había ordenado.
20 Once the pedigrees of the descendants of Reuben, Israel's first-born, had been established by clansand families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	20 Los resultados fueron los siguientes: En la lista de los descendientes de Rubén, el primogénito de Israel, por clanes y por familias –una vez anotados uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones que tenían más de veinte años, o sea, de los aptos para la guerra–
21 The total of these for the tribe of Reuben was forty-six thousand five hundred.	21 fueron registrados 46.500 hombres.
22 Once the pedigrees of Simeon's descendants had been established by clans and families, the namesof al the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	22 En las lista de los descendientes de Simeón, por clanes y por familias –una vez anotados uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones que tenían más de veinte años, o sea, de los aptos para la guerra–
23 The total of these for the tribe of Simeon was fifty-nine thousand three hundred.	23 fueron registrados 59.300 hombres.
24 Once the pedigrees of Gad's descendants had been established by clans and families, the names ofal the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	24 En la lista de los descendientes de Gad, por clanes y por familias –una vez anotados uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones que tenían más de veinte años, o sea, de los aptos para la guerra–
25 The total of these for the tribe of Gad was forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty.	25 fueron registrados 45.650 hombres.
26 Once the pedigrees of Judah's descendants had been established by clans and families, the namesof al the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	26 En la lista de los descendientes de Judá, por clanes y por familias –una vez anotados uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones que tenían más de veinte años, o sea, de los aptos para la guerra–
27 The total of these for the tribe of Judah was seventy-four thousand six hundred.	27 fueron registrados 74.600 hombres.
28 Once the pedigrees of Issachar's descendants had been established by clans and families, thenames of al the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	28 En la lista de los descendientes de Isacar, por clanes y por familias –una vez anotados uno por uno los nombre de todos los varones que tenían más de veinte años, o sea, de los aptos para la guerra–

30 Once the pedigrees of Zebulun's descendants had been established by clans and families, the namesof al the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	30 En la lista de los descendientes de Zabulón, por clanes y por familias –una vez anotados uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones que tenían más de veinte años, o sea, de los aptos para la guerra–
31 The total of these for the tribe of Zebulun was fifty-seven thousand four hundred.	31 fueron registrados 57.400 hombres.
32 As regards the descendants of Joseph: once the pedigrees of Ephraim's descendants had beenestablished by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, wererecorded one by one.	32 En cuanto a los hijos de José: En la lista de los descendientes de Efraím, por clanes y por familias –una vez anotados uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones que tenían más de veinte años, o sea, de los aptos para la guerra–
33 The total of these for the tribe of Ephraim was forty thousand five hundred.	33 fueron registrados 40.500 hombres.
34 Once the pedigrees of Manasseh's descendants had been established by clans and families, thenames of al the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	34 En la lista de los descendientes de Manasés, por clanes y por familias –una vez anotados uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones que tenían más de veinte años, o sea, de los aptos para la guerra–
35 The total of these for the tribe of Manasseh was thirty-two thousand two hundred.	35 fueron registrados 32.200 hombres.
36 Once the pedigrees of Benjamin's descendants had been established by clans and families, thenames of al the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	36 En la lista de los descendientes de Benjamín, por clanes y por familias –una vez anotados uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones que tenían más de veinte años, o sea, de los aptos para la guerra–

38 Once the pedigrees of Dan's descendants had been established by clans and families, the names ofal the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	38 En la lista de los descendientes de Dan, por clanes y por familias –una vez anotados uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones que tenían más de veinte años, o sea, de los aptos para la guerra–
39 The total of these for the tribe of Dan was sixty-two thousand seven hundred.	39 fueron registrados 62.700 hombres.
40 Once the pedigrees of Asher's descendants had been established by clans and families, the namesof al the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	40 En la lista de los descendientes de Aser, por clanes y por familias –una vez anotados uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones que tenían más de veinte años, o sea, de los aptos para la guerra–
41 The total of these for the tribe of Asher was forty-one thousand five hundred.	41 fueron registrados 41.500 hombres.
42 Once the pedigrees of Naphtali's descendants had been established by clans and families, thenames of al the males of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were recorded one by one.	42 En la lista de los descendientes de Neftalí, por clanes y por familias –una vez anotados uno por uno los nombres de todo los varones que tenían más de veinte años, o sea, de los aptos para la guerra–
43 The total of these for the tribe of Naphtali was fifty-three thousand four hundred.	43 fueron registrados 53.400 hombres.
44 Such were the men registered by Moses, Aaron and the leaders of Israel, of whom there were twelve,each representing his family.	44 Estos fueron los registrados por Moisés y Aarón, y por los jefes de Israel, que eran doce, uno por cada casa paterna.
45 Al the Israelites of twenty years and over, fit to bear arms, were counted by families.	45 Todos los israelitas que tenían más de veinte años, todos los hombres de Israel aptos para la guerra, fueron registrados por familias,
46 Altogether, the total came to six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty.	46 y los registrados fueron en total 603.550 hombres.
47 But the Levites and their tribes were not included in the count.	47 Pero la tribu de los levitas no fue registrada con las otras tribus,
48 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	48 porque el Señor había dicho a Moisés:
49 'Do not, however, take a census of the Levites, or register them with the other Israelites,	49 No inscribas en el registro a la tribu de Leví ni la incluyas en el censo de los israelitas.
50 but enrol the Levites to take charge of the Dwel ing where the Testimony is and of al its furnishingsand belongings. They must carry the Dwel ing and al its furnishings; they must look after the Dwel ing and pitchtheir camp round it.	50 Tú encomendarás a los levitas el cuidado de la Morada del Testimonio, de sus enseres y de todo lo que está relacionado con ella. Ellos transportarán la Morada y todos sus enseres, se encargarán de su servicio y acamparán alrededor de ella.
51 Whenever the Dwelling is moved, the Levites will dismantle it; whenever the Dwel ing stops for thenight, the Levites wil erect it. Any unauthorised person coming near it will be put to death.	51 Cuando la Morada se desplace, los levitas la desarmarán; y cuando se detenga, la armarán. El extraño que se acerque, será castigado con la muerte.
52 The Israelites wil pitch their tents, each in their own encampment and by their own standard,company by company,	52 Los israelitas acamparán los regimientos, cada uno con su propia división y bajo sus respectivos estandartes.
53 but the Levites wil pitch their tents round the Dwel ing where the Testimony is. In this way Retributionwil be kept from fal ing on the whole community of Israelites, and the Levites wil keep charge of the Dwel ing ofthe Testimony.'	53 Los levitas, en cambio, lo harán alrededor de la Morada del Testimonio, para que la ira del Señor no se desate contra la comunidad de los israelitas. Ellos estarán encargados de custodiar la Morada del Testimonio.
54 The Israelites did exactly as Yahweh had ordered Moses. They did as he said.	54 Así lo hicieron los israelitas, ateniéndose exactamente a lo que el Señor había dicho a Moisés.
