Proverbs 7

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 My child, keep my words, and treasure my precepts,	1 Guarda, hijo mío, mis palabras, conserva como un tesoro mis mandatos.
2 keep my precepts and you wil live, keep my teaching as the apple of your eye.	2 Guarda mis mandamientos y vivirás; sea mi lección como la niña de tus ojos.
3 Bind these to your fingers, write them on the tablet of your heart.	3 Atalos a tus dedos, escríbelos en la tablilla de tu corazón.
4 Say to Wisdom, 'You are my sister!' Cal Understanding your relation,	4 Dile a la sabiduría: «Tú eres mi hermana», llama pariente a la inteligencia,
5 to save yourself from the woman that belongs to another, from the stranger, with her seductive words.	5 para que te guarde de la mujer ajena, de la extraña de palabras melosas.
6 While I was at the window of my house, I was looking out through the lattice	6 Estaba yo a la ventana de mi casa y miraba a través de las celosías,
7 and I saw, among the cal ow youths, I noticed among the lads, one boy who had no sense.	7 cuando ví, en el grupo de los simples, distinguí entre los muchachos a un joven falto de juicio:
8 Going along the lane, near the corner where she lives, he reaches the path to her house,	8 pasaba por la calle, junto a la esquina donde ella vivía, iba camino de su casa,

10 And look, a woman is coming to meet him, dressed like a prostitute, false of heart.	10 De repente, le sale al paso una mujer, con atavío de ramera y astucia en el corazón.
11 She is loud and brazen; her feet cannot rest at home.	11 Es alborotada y revoltosa, sus pies nunca paran en su casa.
12 Once in the street, once in the square, she lurks at every corner.	12 Tan pronto en las calles como en las plazas, acecha por todas las esquinas.
13 She catches hold of him, she kisses him, the bold-faced creature says to him,	13 Ella lo agarró y lo abrazó, y desvergonzada le dijo:
14 'I had to offer a communion sacrifice, I have discharged my vows today;	14 «Tenía que ofrecer un sacrificio de comunión y hoy he cumplido mi voto;
15 that is why I came out to meet you, to look for you, and now I have found you.	15 por eso he salido a tu encuentro para buscarte en seguida; y va te he encontrado.
16 I have spread coverlets over my divan, embroidered stuff, Egyptian material,	16 He puesto en mi lecho cobertores policromos, lencería de Egipto,
17 I have sprinkled my bed with myrrh, with aloes and cinnamon.	17 con mirra mi cama he rociado, con áloes y cinamomo.
18 Come on, we'l make love as much as we like, till morning. Let us enjoy the delights of love!	18 Ven, embriaguémonos de amores hasta la mañana, solacémonos los dos, entre caricias.
19 For my husband is not at home, he has gone on a very long journey,	19 Porque no está el marido en casa, está de viaje muy lejos;
20 taking his moneybags with him; he wil not be back til the moon is ful .'	20 ha llevado en su mano la bolsa del dinero, volverá a casa para la luna llena».
21 With her persistent coaxing she overcomes him, lures him on with her wheedling patter.	21 Con sus muchas artes lo seduce, lo rinde con el halago de sus labios.
22 Forthwith he fol ows her, like an ox on its way to the slaughterhouse, like a madman on his way to thestocks,	22 Se va tras ella en seguida, como buey al matadero, como el ciervo atrapado en el cepo,
23 until an arrow pierces him to the liver, like the bird that dashes into the net without realising that its lifeis at stake.	23 hasta que una flecha le atraviese el hígado; como pájaro que se precipita en la red, sin saber que le va en ello la vida.
24 And now, son, listen to me, pay attention to the words I have to say:	24 Ahora pues, hijo mío, escúchame, pon atención a las palabras de mi boca:
25 do not let your heart stray into her ways, or wander into her paths;	25 no se desvíe tu corazón hacia sus caminos, no te descarríes por sus senderos,
26 she has done so many to death, and the strongest have al been her victims.	26 porque a muchos ha hecho caer muertos, robustos eran todos los que ella mató.
27 Her house is the way to Sheol, the descent to the courts of death.	27 Su morada es camino del seol, que baja hacia las cámaras de la muerte.
