1 Wisdom builds herself a house; with her own hands Folly pul s it down.	1 - La donna saggia edifica la sua casa, e la stolta con le sue stesse mani, quella fatta la disfà.
2 Whoever keeps to an honest course fears Yahweh, whoever deserts his paths shows contempt forhim.	2 Chi cammina nel retto sentiero è uno che teme Dio, da colui è disprezzato, che batte una via ignominiosa.
3 Pride sprouts in the mouth of the fool, the lips of the wise keep them safe.	3 In bocca allo stolto è la verga della superbia, ma le labbra dei saggi sono a loro custodia.
4 No oxen, empty manger; strong bul , much cash.	4 Dove non sono buoi la mangiatoia è vuota, ma dove le biade abbondano è manifesta la forza di essi.
5 The truthful witness tells no lies, the false witness lies with every breath.	5 Il testimonio fedele non mente e il testimonio falso dice menzogne.
6 In vain the mocker looks for wisdom, knowledge comes easy to the intel igent.	6 Il derisore cerca la sapienza e non la trova, ma ai prudenti la sapienza è facile.
7 Keep wel clear of the fool, you wil not find wise lips there.	7 Va' contro all'uomo stolto, egli non conosce i dettami della prudenza.
8 With people of discretion, wisdom keeps a watch over their conduct, but the fol y of fools leads themastray.	8 La sapienza dell'uomo accorto sta in conoscere la sua strada, e l'imprudenza degli stolti è fallace.
9 Fools mock at the sacrifice for sin, but favour resides among the honest.	9 Lo stolto si fa giuoco del peccato, ma tra i giusti dimora la grazia.
10 The heart knows its own grief best, nor can a stranger share its joy.	10 Il cuore sa lui la sua amarezza, anche alla sua gioia non ammette alcun estraneo.
11 The house of the wicked wil be destroyed, the tent of the honest wil prosper.	11 La casa degli empi andrà distrutta e i padiglioni dei giusti saranno floridi.
12 There are ways that some think straight, but they lead in the end to death.	12 C'è una strada che all'uomo sembra giusta, ma il suo estremo conduce alla morte.
13 Even in laughter the heart finds sadness, and joy makes way for sorrow.	13 Il riso sarà mescolato col dolore e all'estremità della gioia succederà l'afflizione.
14 The miscreant wil reap the reward of his conduct, and the good the reward of his deeds.	14 L'uomo stolto si sazierà dei frutti della sua condotta, ma molto meglio di lui l'uomo buono.
15 The simpleton believes any message, a person of discretion treads a careful path.	15 L'ingenuo presta fede ad ogni parola, ma l'avveduto considera i suoi passi. Non avrà mai bene il figlio ingannatoreal servo sapiente prospereranno le faccende, e le sue vie riusciranno.
16 The wise fears evil and avoids it, the fool is insolent and conceited.	16 Il saggio teme e schiva il male, lo stolto trascorre e si tiene sicuro.
17 A quick-tempered person commits rash acts, but a schemer is detestable.	17 L'uomo impaziente farà qualche pazzia, l'uomo astuto riuscirà odioso.
18 Simpletons have folly for their portion, people of discretion knowledge for their crown.	18 Gli sciocchi avranno in retaggio la stoltezza, agli avveduti spetterà l'aureola della scienza.
19 The evil bow down before the good, the wicked, at the gates of the upright.	19 I tristi s'inchineranno dinanzi ai buonie i malvagi staranno alle porte dei giusti.
20 The poor is detestable even to a friend, but many are they who love someone rich.	20 Anche al suo prossimo è in odio il povero e gli amici del ricco sono molti.
21 One who despises the needy is at fault, one who takes pity on the poor is blessed.	21 Chi sprezza il suo prossimo fa peccato e chi ha pietà dei poverelli, beato lui! Chi crede nel Signore ama la misericordia.
22 Plan evil -- isn't this to go astray? Those who plan for good can earn faithful love and constancy.	22 Errano quelli che operano il male! la misericordia e la verità sono artefici di bene.
23 Hard work always yields its profit, idle talk brings only want.	23 Sempre dove c'è lavoro c'è abbondanza, ma dove sono molte parole ivi spesso è la penuria.
24 The crown of the wise is their riches; the fol y of fools is folly.	24 L'aureola dei saggi è la loro ricchezza, la follia degli stolti follia resta.
25 A truthful witness saves lives, whoever utters lies is a deceiver.	25 Il testimonio verace libera le anime, e chi dice menzogne è un malintenzionato.
26 In the fear of Yahweh is powerful security; for his children he is a refuge.	26 Nel timore di Dio c'è una forza fiduciosa e sarà pei suoi figli una speranza.
27 The fear of Yahweh is a life-giving spring for eluding the snares of death.	27 Il timor del Signore è una sorgente di vita per sfuggire alla rovina della morte.
28 Large population, monarch's glory; dwindling population, ruler's ruin.	28 Nella moltitudine del popolo è l'onore del re e nella scarsezza dei sudditi la vergogna del sovrano.
29 Mastery of temper is high proof of intel igence, a quick temper makes fol y worse than ever.	29 Chi è paziente si regola con molta prudenza, chi è impaziente manifesta la sua follia.
30 The life of the body is a tranquil heart, but envy is a cancer in the bones.	30 Sanità di cuore dà vita a tutto il corpo, ma tarlo delle ossa l'invidia.
31 To oppress the weak insults the Creator, kindness to the needy honours the Creator.	31 Chi maltratta il medico fa onta al suo fattore e chi ha pietà del poverello gli dà gloria.
32 For evil-doing, the wicked wil be flung headlong, but in integrity the upright wil find refuge.	32 Nella sua malizia l'empio si sente travolto, ma il giusto anche in punto di morte spera.
33 Wisdom resides in an understanding heart; she is not to be found in the hearts of fools.	33 Nel cuore del prudente la scienza riposa e saprà istruire qualunque ignorante.
34 Uprightness makes a nation great, by sin whole races are disgraced.	34 La giustizia esalta una nazione, ma il peccato immiserisce i popoli.
35 A king shows favour to a wise minister, but anger to one who shames him.	35 Il ministro intelligente è ben voluto dal re, e quello disutile proverà la sua collera.
