1 Wisdom builds herself a house; with her own hands Folly pul s it down.	1 Le donne savie edificano le lor case; Ma la stolta la sovverte con le sue mani
2 Whoever keeps to an honest course fears Yahweh, whoever deserts his paths shows contempt forhim.	2 Chi cammina nella sua dirittura riverisce il Signore; Ma chi è stravolto nelle sue vie lo sprezza
3 Pride sprouts in the mouth of the fool, the lips of the wise keep them safe.	3 Nella bocca dello stolto è la bacchetta dell’alterezza; Ma le labbra de’ savi li guardano
4 No oxen, empty manger; strong bul , much cash.	4 Dove non son buoi, il granaio è vuoto; Ma l’abbondanza della ricolta è per la forza del bue
5 The truthful witness tells no lies, the false witness lies with every breath.	5 Il testimonio verace non mente; Ma il falso testimonio sbocca bugie
6 In vain the mocker looks for wisdom, knowledge comes easy to the intel igent.	6 Lo schernitore cerca la sapienza, e non la trova punto; Ma la scienza agevolmente si acquista dall’uomo intendente
7 Keep wel clear of the fool, you wil not find wise lips there.	7 Vattene via d’innanzi all’uomo stolto, E d’innanzi a colui, nel quale non avrai conosciute labbra di scienza
8 With people of discretion, wisdom keeps a watch over their conduct, but the fol y of fools leads themastray.	8 La sapienza dell’uomo è di considerar la sua via; Ma la follia degli stolti è inganno
9 Fools mock at the sacrifice for sin, but favour resides among the honest.	9 Gli stolti si fanno beffe del commetter misfatto; Ma fra gli uomini diritti è la benevolenza
10 The heart knows its own grief best, nor can a stranger share its joy.	10 Il cuore di ciascuno conosce l’amaritudine dell’anima sua; Ed altresì alcuno strano non è mescolato nella sua allegrezza
11 The house of the wicked wil be destroyed, the tent of the honest wil prosper.	11 La casa degli empi sarà distrutta; Ma il tabernacolo degli uomini diritti fiorirà
12 There are ways that some think straight, but they lead in the end to death.	12 Vi è tal via che pare diritta all’uomo, Il fine della quale son le vie della morte
13 Even in laughter the heart finds sadness, and joy makes way for sorrow.	13 Come di troppo ridere duole il cuore, Così la fine dell’allegrezza è dolore
14 The miscreant wil reap the reward of his conduct, and the good the reward of his deeds.	14 Chi è sviato di cuore sarà saziato delle sue vie; E più ch’esso lo sarà l’uomo da bene delle sue
15 The simpleton believes any message, a person of discretion treads a careful path.	15 Lo scempio crede ogni cosa; Ma l’avveduto considera i suoi passi
16 The wise fears evil and avoids it, the fool is insolent and conceited.	16 Il savio teme, e si ritrae dal male; Ma lo stolto trascorre, e si tien sicuro
17 A quick-tempered person commits rash acts, but a schemer is detestable.	17 Chi è pronto all’ira commette follia; E l’uomo malizioso è odiato
18 Simpletons have folly for their portion, people of discretion knowledge for their crown.	18 Gli scempi erederanno la stoltizia; Ma i prudenti coroneranno il lor capo di scienza
19 The evil bow down before the good, the wicked, at the gates of the upright.	19 I malvagi saranno abbassati davanti a’ buoni; E gli empi saranno alle porte del giusto
20 The poor is detestable even to a friend, but many are they who love someone rich.	20 Il povero è odiato eziandio dal suo prossimo; Ma molti son gli amici del ricco
21 One who despises the needy is at fault, one who takes pity on the poor is blessed.	21 Chi sprezza il suo prossimo pecca; Ma beato chi ha pietà de’ poveri
22 Plan evil -- isn't this to go astray? Those who plan for good can earn faithful love and constancy.	22 Quelli che macchinano del male non sono eglino traviati? Ma benignità e verità sarà usata inverso coloro che pensano del bene
23 Hard work always yields its profit, idle talk brings only want.	23 In ogni fatica vi è del profitto; Ma il parlar delle labbra torna solo in inopia
24 The crown of the wise is their riches; the fol y of fools is folly.	24 Le ricchezze de’ savi sono la lor corona; Ma la follia degli stolti è sempre follia
25 A truthful witness saves lives, whoever utters lies is a deceiver.	25 Il testimonio verace libera le anime; Ma il falso sbocca bugie
26 In the fear of Yahweh is powerful security; for his children he is a refuge.	26 Nel timor del Signore vi è confidanza fortissima; E vi sarà un ricetto per li figliuoli di colui che teme Iddio.
27 The fear of Yahweh is a life-giving spring for eluding the snares of death.	27 Il timor del Signore è una fonte di vita, Per ritrarsi da’ lacci della morte
28 Large population, monarch's glory; dwindling population, ruler's ruin.	28 La magnificenza del re è nella moltitudine del popolo; Ma la ruina del principe è nel mancamento della gente
29 Mastery of temper is high proof of intel igence, a quick temper makes fol y worse than ever.	29 Chi è lento all’ira è di gran prudenza; Ma chi è pronto al cruccio eccita la follia
30 The life of the body is a tranquil heart, but envy is a cancer in the bones.	30 Il cuor sano è la vita delle carni; Ma l’invidia è il tarlo delle ossa
31 To oppress the weak insults the Creator, kindness to the needy honours the Creator.	31 Chi oppressa il povero fa onta a colui che l’ha fatto; Ma chi ha pietà del bisognoso l’onora
32 For evil-doing, the wicked wil be flung headlong, but in integrity the upright wil find refuge.	32 L’empio sarà traboccato per la sua malvagità; Ma il giusto spera eziandio nella sua morte
33 Wisdom resides in an understanding heart; she is not to be found in the hearts of fools.	33 La sapienza riposa nel cuore dell’uomo intendente, Ed è riconosciuta in mezzo degli stolti
34 Uprightness makes a nation great, by sin whole races are disgraced.	34 La giustizia innalza la nazione; Ma il peccato è il vituperio de’ popoli
35 A king shows favour to a wise minister, but anger to one who shames him.	35 Il favor del re è verso il servitore intendente; Ma la sua indegnazione è contro a quello che reca vituperio
