Psalms 71

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 In you, Yahweh, I take refuge, I shal never be put to shame.	1 A ti, Yahveh, me acojo, ¡no sea confundido jamás!
2 In your saving justice rescue me, deliver me, listen to me and save me.	2 ¡Por tu justicia sálvame, libérame! tiende hacia mí tu oído y sálvame!
3 Be a sheltering rock for me, always accessible; you have determined to save me, for you are my rock,my fortress.	3 ¡Sé para mí una roca de refugio, alcázar fuerte que me salve, pues mi roca eres tú y mi fortaleza.
4 My God, rescue me from the clutches of the wicked, from the grasp of the rogue and the ruthless.	4 ¡Dios mío, líbrame de la mano del impío, de las garras del perverso y del violento!
5 For you are my hope, Lord, my trust, Yahweh, since boyhood.	5 Pues tú eres mi esperanza, Señor, Yahveh, mi confianza desde mi juventud.
6 On you I have relied since my birth, since my mother's womb you have been my portion, the constanttheme of my praise.	6 En ti tengo mi apoyo desde el seno, tú mi porción desde las entrañas de mi madre; ¡en ti sin cesar mi alabanza!
7 Many were bewildered at me, but you are my sure refuge.	7 Soy el asombro de muchos, mas tú eres mi seguro refugio.
8 My mouth is full of your praises, fil ed with your splendour all day long.	8 Mi boca está repleta de tu loa, de tu gloria todo el día.
9 Do not reject me in my old age, nor desert me when my strength is failing,	9 A la hora de mi vejez no me rechaces, no me abandones cuando decae mi vigor.
10 for my enemies are discussing me, those with designs on my life are plotting together.	10 Porque de mí mis enemigos hablan, los que espían mi alma se conciertan:
11 'Hound him down, for God has deserted him! Seize him, there is no one to rescue him.'	11 «¡Dios le ha desamparado, perseguidle, apresadle, pues no hay quien le libere!»
12 God, do not stand aloof, my God, come quickly to help me.	12 ¡Oh Dios, no te estés lejos de mí, Dios mío, ven pronto en mi socorro!
13 Shame and ruin on those who slander me, may those intent on harming me be covered with insultand infamy.	13 ¡Confusión y vergüenza sobre aquellos que acusan a mi alma; cúbranse de ignominia y de vergüenza los que buscan mi mal!
14 As for me, my hope wil never fade, I wil praise you more and more.	14 Y yo, esperando sin cesar, más y más te alabaré;
15 My lips shal proclaim your saving justice, your saving power all day long.	15 publicará mi boca tu justicia, todo el día tu salvación.
16 I wil come in the power of Yahweh to tel of your justice, yours alone.	16 Y vendré a las proezas de Yahveh, recordaré tu justicia, tuya sólo.
17 God, you have taught me from boyhood, and I am still proclaiming your marvels.	17 ¡Oh Dios, desde mi juventud me has instruido, y yo he anunciado hasta hoy tus maravillas!
18 Now that I am old and grey-haired, God, do not desert me, til I have proclaimed your strength togenerations still to come, your power	18 Y ahora que llega la vejez y las canas, ¡oh Dios, no me abandones!, para que anuncie yo tu brazo a todas las edades venideras, ¡tu poderío
19 and justice to the skies. You have done great things, God, who is like you?	19 y tu justicia, oh Dios, hasta los cielos! Tú que has hecho grandes cosas, ¡oh Dios!, ¿quién como tú?
20 You have shown me much misery and hardship, but you will give me life again, You will raise me upagain from the depths of the earth,	20 Tú que me has hecho ver tantos desastres y desgracias, has de volver a recobrarme. Vendrás a sacarme de los abismos de la tierra,
21 prolong my old age, and comfort me again.	21 sustentarás mi ancianidad, volverás a consolarme,
22 For my part, I will thank you on the lyre for your constancy, my God. I wil play the harp in yourhonour, Holy One of Israel.	22 Y yo te daré gracias con las cuerdas del arpa, por tu verdad, Dios mío; para ti salmodiaré a la cítara, oh Santo de Israel.
23 My lips sing for joy as I play to you, because you have redeemed me,	23 Exultarán mis labios cuando salmodie para ti, y mi alma, que tú has rescatado.
24 and al day long my tongue muses on your saving justice. Shame and disgrace on those intent toharm me!	24 También mi lengua todo el día musitará tu justicia: porque han sido avergonzados, porque han enrojecido, los que buscaban mi desgracia.
