1 [Lament Of David Which he sang to Yahweh about Cush the Benjaminite] Yahweh my God, I takerefuge in you, save me from al my pursuers and rescue me,	1 Salmo di David, cantato da lui al Signore a motivo delle parole di Chus figliuolo di Jemini. Signore, Dio mio, in te ho posta la mia speranza: salvami, e liberami da tutti coloro, che mi perseguitano.
2 or he wil savage me like a lion, carry me off with no one to rescue me.	2 Affinchè qual lione non faccia preda dell'anima mia, quando non siavi chi porti liberazione, e salute.
3 Yahweh my God, if I have done this: if injustice has stained my hands,	3 Signore, Dio mio, se io ho fatta tal cosa, se havvi nelle mani mie iniquità;
4 if I have repaid my al y with treachery or spared one who attacked me unprovoked,	4 Se male ho renduto a coloro, che a me ne facevano, cada io giustamente senza pro sotto de' miei nemici.
5 may an enemy hunt me down and catch me, may he trample my life into the ground and crush my vitalparts into the dust.Pause	5 Perseguiti l'inimico l'anima mia, mi raggiunga, e calpesti insiem colla terra la mia vita, e riduca in polvere la mia gloria.
6 Arise, Yahweh, in your anger, rise up against the arrogance of my foes. Awake, my God, you demandjudgement.	6 Levati su, o Signore, nell'ira tua, e fa mostra di tua grandezza in mezzo a' miei nemici. E levati su, o Signore, Dio mio, secondo la legge stabilita da te:
7 Let the assembly of nations gather round you; return above it on high!	7 E la moltitudine delle nazioni si adunerà intorno a te. E per amor di questa ritorna nell'alto:
8 (Yahweh judges the nations.) Judge me, Yahweh, as my uprightness and my integrity deserve.	8 Il Signore fa giudizio dei popoli. Fammi ragione, o Signore, secondo la mia giustizia, e secondo l'innocenza che è in me.
9 Put an end to the malice of the wicked, make the upright stand firm, you who discern hearts and minds,God the upright.	9 La malvagità de' peccatori avrà fine, e sarai guida del giusto, tu, o Dio, che penetri i cuori, e gli affetti.
10 God is a shield that protects me, saving the honest of heart.	10 Il mio soccorso giustamente (aspetto) dal Signore, il quale salva coloro, che sono schietti di cuore.
11 God is an upright judge, slow to anger, but a God at al times threatening	11 Dio giusto Giudice, forte, e paziente si adira egli forse ogni dì?
12 for those who wil not repent. Let the enemy whet his sword, draw his bow and make ready;	12 Se voi non vi convertirete, egli ruoterà la sua spada: ha teso il suo Arco, e lo tien preparato.
13 but he is making ready instruments of death for himself and tipping his arrows with fire;	13 E con esso ha preparati strumenti di morte; le sue frecce ha formate per quelli, che spiran fiamme.
14 look at him: pregnant with malice, conceiving spite, he gives birth to treachery.	14 Ecco che quegli ha partorito l'ingiustizia, ha conceputo dolore, ed ha partorito l'iniquità.
15 He digs a trap, scoops it out, but he fal s into the snare he made himself.	15 Ha aperta, e scavata la fossa, e nella fossa, che ha fatto, egli è caduto.
