1 [Lament Of David Which he sang to Yahweh about Cush the Benjaminite] Yahweh my God, I takerefuge in you, save me from al my pursuers and rescue me,	1 (Salmo di David, da lui cantato al Signore per le parole di Cusi Beniaminita ).
2 or he wil savage me like a lion, carry me off with no one to rescue me.	2 Signore, Dio mio, in te ho posta la mia speranza, salvami e liberami da tutti i miei persecutori;
3 Yahweh my God, if I have done this: if injustice has stained my hands,	3 Chè (il nemico) qual leone non rapisca l'anima mia, quando non v'è chi possa liberare e salvare.
4 if I have repaid my al y with treachery or spared one who attacked me unprovoked,	4 Signore, Dio mio, se ho fatto questo, se c'è dell'iniquità nelle mie mani.
5 may an enemy hunt me down and catch me, may he trample my life into the ground and crush my vitalparts into the dust.Pause	5 Se ho fatto del male a chi mi ha fatto del male, cada disarmato, come mi merito, sotto i miei nemici.
6 Arise, Yahweh, in your anger, rise up against the arrogance of my foes. Awake, my God, you demandjudgement.	6 Il nemico mi perseguiti e mi raggiunga, calpesti la mia vita, e riduca in polvere la mia gloria.
7 Let the assembly of nations gather round you; return above it on high!	7 Alzati, o Signore, nel tuo furore, mostra la tua grandezza in mezzo ai miei nemici. Alzati, o Signore mio Dio, secondo la legge da te stabilita.
8 (Yahweh judges the nations.) Judge me, Yahweh, as my uprightness and my integrity deserve.	8 E l'assemblea dei popoli si aduni intorno a te: per lei torna nell'alto seggio.
9 Put an end to the malice of the wicked, make the upright stand firm, you who discern hearts and minds,God the upright.	9 Il Signore giudica i popoli. Giudicami, o Signore, secondo la mia giustizia e secondo la mia innocenza.
10 God is a shield that protects me, saving the honest of heart.	10 La malvagità dei peccatori abbia fine, e sii guida del giusto, tu o Dio, che scruti i cuori e gli affetti.
11 God is an upright judge, slow to anger, but a God at al times threatening	11 Il mio giusto aiuto è dal Signore, che salva i retti di cuore.
12 for those who wil not repent. Let the enemy whet his sword, draw his bow and make ready;	12 Dio è giusto giudice, forte e paziente. Darà corso all'ira giorno per giorno?
13 but he is making ready instruments of death for himself and tipping his arrows with fire;	13 Se non vi convertirete roterà la sua spada: ha già teso il suo arco, e lo tien pronto.
14 look at him: pregnant with malice, conceiving spite, he gives birth to treachery.	14 E in esso ha preparate le mortifere saette, le ha rese terribili col fuoco.
15 He digs a trap, scoops it out, but he fal s into the snare he made himself.	15 Eccolo a partorire l'ingiustizia: ha concepito il dolore e ha partorito l'iniquità.
16 His spite recoils on his own head, his brutality falls back on his own skul .	16 Ha aperta e scavata una fossa, e nella fossa che ha scavata c'è caduto lui.
17 I thank Yahweh for his saving justice. I sing to the name of the Most High.	17 Il suo dolore gli ritorna sul capo, la sua iniquità gli ricade sulla testa.
	18 Ed io glorificherò il Signore per la sua giustizia, canterò inni di lode al nome dell'Altissimo Signore.
