Psalms 7

NEW JERUSALEM	NOVA VULGATA
1 [Lament Of David Which he sang to Yahweh about Cush the Benjaminite] Yahweh my God, I takerefuge in you, save me from al my pursuers and rescue me,	1 Lamentatio David, quam cantavit Domino propter Chus Beniaminitam.
2 or he wil savage me like a lion, carry me off with no one to rescue me.	2 Domine Deus meus, in te speravi; salvum me fac ex omnibus persequentibus me et libera me,
3 Yahweh my God, if I have done this: if injustice has stained my hands,	3 ne quando rapiat ut leo animam meam discerpens, dum non est qui salvum faciat.
4 if I have repaid my al y with treachery or spared one who attacked me unprovoked,	4 Domine Deus meus, si feci istud, si est iniquitas in manibus meis,
5 may an enemy hunt me down and catch me, may he trample my life into the ground and crush my vitalparts into the dust.Pause	5 si reddidi retribuenti mihi mala et exspoliavi inimicum meum dimittens inanem,
6 Arise, Yahweh, in your anger, rise up against the arrogance of my foes. Awake, my God, you demandjudgement.	6 persequatur inimicus animam meam et comprehendat et conculcet in terra vitam meam et gloriam meam in pulverem deducat.
7 Let the assembly of nations gather round you; return above it on high!	7 Exsurge, Domine, in ira tua et exaltare contra indignationem inimicorum meorum et exsurge, Deus meus, in iudicio, quod mandasti.
8 (Yahweh judges the nations.) Judge me, Yahweh, as my uprightness and my integrity deserve.	8 Et synagoga populorum circumdabit te, et super hanc in altum regredere:
9 Put an end to the malice of the wicked, make the upright stand firm, you who discern hearts and minds,God the upright.	9 Dominus iudicat populos. Iudica me, Domine, secundum iustitiam meam et secundum innocentiam meam, quae est in me.
10 God is a shield that protects me, saving the honest of heart.	10 Consumatur nequitia peccatorum; et iustum confirma: scrutans corda et renes Deus iustus.
11 God is an upright judge, slow to anger, but a God at al times threatening	11 Adiutorium meum apud Deum, qui salvos facit rectos corde.
12 for those who wil not repent. Let the enemy whet his sword, draw his bow and make ready;	12 Deus iudex iustus, fortis, irascens per singulos dies.
13 but he is making ready instruments of death for himself and tipping his arrows with fire;	13 Nonne iterum gladium suum exacuit, arcum suum tetendit et paravit illum?
14 look at him: pregnant with malice, conceiving spite, he gives birth to treachery.	14 Et paravit sibi vasa mortis, sagittas suas ardentes effecit.
15 He digs a trap, scoops it out, but he fal s into the snare he made himself.	15 Ecce parturiit iniustitiam, concepit dolorem et peperit iniquitatem;
16 His spite recoils on his own head, his brutality falls back on his own skul .	16 lacum aperuit et effodit eum et incidit in foveam, quam fecit.
17 I thank Yahweh for his saving justice. I sing to the name of the Most High.	17 Convertetur dolor eius in caput eius, et in verticem ipsius iniquitas eius descendet.
	18 Confitebor Domino secundum iustitiam eius et psallam nomini Domini Altissimi.
