1 [Lament Of David Which he sang to Yahweh about Cush the Benjaminite] Yahweh my God, I takerefuge in you, save me from al my pursuers and rescue me,	1 - Salmo di David, ch'egli cantò al Signore in occasione delle parole di Cusi, beniaminita.
2 or he wil savage me like a lion, carry me off with no one to rescue me.	2 Signore, mio Dio, in te spero: salvami da tutti i miei persecutori e liberami.
3 Yahweh my God, if I have done this: if injustice has stained my hands,	3 Sicchè [il nemico] non rapisca, qual bene, l'anima mia, mentre non c'è chi [mi] strappi [dalle sue zanne], nè chi [mi] salvi.
4 if I have repaid my al y with treachery or spared one who attacked me unprovoked,	4 Signore, mio Dio, se ho fatto mai questo [di cui m'accusano], se c' è l'iniquità nelle mie mani,
5 may an enemy hunt me down and catch me, may he trample my life into the ground and crush my vitalparts into the dust.Pause	5 se male ho reso a chi m'aveva fatto [del bene], ch'io cada pure, dinanzi a' miei nemici, senza speranza.
6 Arise, Yahweh, in your anger, rise up against the arrogance of my foes. Awake, my God, you demandjudgement.	6 Mi perseguiti il nemicoe [mi] faccia sua preda, e calpesti a terra la mia vita, e la mia gloria getti nella polvere.
7 Let the assembly of nations gather round you; return above it on high!	7 Sorgi, o Signore, nell' ira tua, e grandeggia entro i confini de' miei nemici. Sorgi, Signore mio Dio, decreta il giudizio!
8 (Yahweh judges the nations.) Judge me, Yahweh, as my uprightness and my integrity deserve.	8 E l'assemblea de' popoli ti circondi, e sopra lei in alto ascendi.
9 Put an end to the malice of the wicked, make the upright stand firm, you who discern hearts and minds,God the upright.	9 Il Signore giudica i popoli! Giudicami, o Signore, secondo la mia giustizia, e secondo l' innocenza mia ch'è in me.
10 God is a shield that protects me, saving the honest of heart.	10 Cessi la malvagità degli empi, e sorreggi tu il giusto, tu che scruti i cuori e i reni, Iddio
11 God is an upright judge, slow to anger, but a God at al times threatening	11 giusto! Il mio aiuto [vien] dal Signore, che salva i retti di cuore
12 for those who wil not repent. Let the enemy whet his sword, draw his bow and make ready;	12 Iddio è giudice giusto, forte e paziente: forsechè ogni giorno egli s'adira?
13 but he is making ready instruments of death for himself and tipping his arrows with fire;	13 Se non vi convertirete, vibrerà la sua spada; ha teso il suo arco e lo tien pronto.
14 look at him: pregnant with malice, conceiving spite, he gives birth to treachery.	14 E su quello ha preparato strumenti di morte: le sue frecce ha reso [dardi] infocati.
15 He digs a trap, scoops it out, but he fal s into the snare he made himself.	15 Ecco [il mio nemico] s'affanna a partorir l'ingiustizia: ha concepito sciagura e dà alla luce il peccato!
16 His spite recoils on his own head, his brutality falls back on his own skul .	16 Una fossa egli ha aperto e scavato, e precipita nella fossa ch'egli ha fatto!
17 I thank Yahweh for his saving justice. I sing to the name of the Most High.	17 Ricade la calamità sul suo capo, e sulla sua testa piomba la sua malvagità.
	18 Io celebrerò il Signore per la sua giustizia, inneggerò al nome del Signore, dell'Altissimo.
