1 [Lament Of David Which he sang to Yahweh about Cush the Benjaminite] Yahweh my God, I takerefuge in you, save me from al my pursuers and rescue me,	1 Siggaion di Davide, il quale egli canto’ al Signore, sopra le parole di Cus Beniaminita SIGNORE Iddio mio, io mi confido in te; Salvami da tutti quelli che mi perseguitano, e riscuotimi;
2 or he wil savage me like a lion, carry me off with no one to rescue me.	2 Che talora il mio nemico non rapisca l’anima mia come un leone; E non la laceri, senza che vi sia alcuno che mi riscuota.
3 Yahweh my God, if I have done this: if injustice has stained my hands,	3 Signore Iddio mio, se ho fatto questo, Se vi è perversità nelle mie mani;
4 if I have repaid my al y with treachery or spared one who attacked me unprovoked,	4 Se ho renduto mal per bene a chi viveva in pace meco Io, che ho riscosso colui che mi era nemico senza cagione,
5 may an enemy hunt me down and catch me, may he trample my life into the ground and crush my vitalparts into the dust.Pause	5 Perseguiti pure il nemico l’anima mia, e l’aggiunga, E calpesti la vita mia, mettendola per terra; E stanzi la mia gloria nella polvere. Sela.
6 Arise, Yahweh, in your anger, rise up against the arrogance of my foes. Awake, my God, you demandjudgement.	6 Levati, Signore, nell’ira tua; Innalzati contro a’ furori de’ miei nemici, E destati in mio favore; tu hai ordinato il giudicio.
7 Let the assembly of nations gather round you; return above it on high!	7 E circonditi la raunanza de’ popoli; E torna poi in luogo elevato di sopra ad essa.
8 (Yahweh judges the nations.) Judge me, Yahweh, as my uprightness and my integrity deserve.	8 Il Signore giudicherà i popoli; Signore, giudicami; Giudica di me secondo la mia giustizia, e la mia integrità.
9 Put an end to the malice of the wicked, make the upright stand firm, you who discern hearts and minds,God the upright.	9 Deh! venga meno la malvagità de’ malvagi, E stabilisci l’uomo giusto; Conciossiachè tu sii l’Iddio giusto, che provi i cuori e le reni
10 God is a shield that protects me, saving the honest of heart.	10 Il mio scudo è in Dio, Che salva quelli che son diritti di cuore.
11 God is an upright judge, slow to anger, but a God at al times threatening	11 Iddio è giusto giudice, E un Dio che si adira ogni giorno.
12 for those who wil not repent. Let the enemy whet his sword, draw his bow and make ready;	12 Se il mio nemico non si converte, egli aguzzerà la sua spada; Già ha teso l’arco suo, e l’ha preparato.
13 but he is making ready instruments of death for himself and tipping his arrows with fire;	13 Egli ha apparecchiate arme mortali; Egli adopererà le sue saette contro agli ardenti persecutori.
14 look at him: pregnant with malice, conceiving spite, he gives birth to treachery.	14 Ecco, il mio nemico partorisce iniquità; Egli ha conceputo affanno, e partorirà inganno.
15 He digs a trap, scoops it out, but he fal s into the snare he made himself.	15 Egli ha cavata una fossa, e l’ha affondata; Ma egli stesso è caduto nella fossa ch’egli ha fatta.
16 His spite recoils on his own head, his brutality falls back on his own skul .	16 Il travaglio ch’egli dà altrui gli ritornerà sopra la testa, E la sua violenza gli scenderà sopra la sommità del capo.
17 I thank Yahweh for his saving justice. I sing to the name of the Most High.	17 Io loderò il Signore, secondo la sua giustizia; E salmeggerò il Nome del Signore Altissimo
