1 [Lament Of David Which he sang to Yahweh about Cush the Benjaminite] Yahweh my God, I takerefuge in you, save me from al my pursuers and rescue me,	1 שִׁגָּיֹון לְדָוִד אֲשֶׁר־שָׁר לַיהוָה עַל־דִּבְרֵי־כוּשׁ בֶּן־יְמִינִי
2 or he wil savage me like a lion, carry me off with no one to rescue me.	2 יְהוָה אֱלֹהַי בְּךָ חָסִיתִי הֹושִׁיעֵנִי מִכָּל־רֹדְפַי וְהַצִּילֵנִי
3 Yahweh my God, if I have done this: if injustice has stained my hands,	3 פֶּן־יִטְרֹף כְּאַרְיֵה נַפְשִׁי פֹּרֵק וְאֵין מַצִּיל
4 if I have repaid my al y with treachery or spared one who attacked me unprovoked,	4 יְהוָה אֱלֹהַי אִם־עָשִׂיתִי זֹאת אִם־יֶשׁ־עָוֶל בְּכַפָּי
5 may an enemy hunt me down and catch me, may he trample my life into the ground and crush my vitalparts into the dust.Pause	5 אִם־גָּמַלְתִּי שֹׁולְמִי רָע וָאֲחַלְּצָה צֹורְרִי רֵיקָם
6 Arise, Yahweh, in your anger, rise up against the arrogance of my foes. Awake, my God, you demandjudgement.	6 יִרַדֹּף אֹויֵב ׀ נַפְשִׁי וְיַשֵּׂג וְיִרְמֹס לָאָרֶץ חַיָּי וּכְבֹודִי ׀ לֶעָפָר יַשְׁכֵּן סֶלָה
7 Let the assembly of nations gather round you; return above it on high!	7 קוּמָה יְהוָה ׀ בְּאַפֶּךָ הִנָּשֵׂא בְּעַבְרֹות צֹורְרָי וְעוּרָה אֵלַי מִשְׁפָּט צִוִּיתָ
8 (Yahweh judges the nations.) Judge me, Yahweh, as my uprightness and my integrity deserve.	8 וַעֲדַת לְאֻמִּים תְּסֹובְבֶךָּ וְעָלֶיהָ לַמָּרֹום שׁוּבָה
9 Put an end to the malice of the wicked, make the upright stand firm, you who discern hearts and minds,God the upright.	9 יְהוָה יָדִין עַמִּים שָׁפְטֵנִי יְהוָה כְּצִדְקִי וּכְתֻמִּי עָלָי
10 God is a shield that protects me, saving the honest of heart.	10 יִגְמָר־נָא רַע ׀ רְשָׁעִים וּתְכֹונֵן צַדִּיק וּבֹחֵן לִבֹּות וּכְלָיֹות אֱלֹהִים צַדִּיק
11 God is an upright judge, slow to anger, but a God at al times threatening	11 מָגִנִּי עַל־אֱלֹהִים מֹושִׁיעַ יִשְׁרֵי־לֵב
12 for those who wil not repent. Let the enemy whet his sword, draw his bow and make ready;	12 אֱלֹהִים שֹׁופֵט צַדִּיק וְאֵל זֹעֵם בְּכָל־יֹום
13 but he is making ready instruments of death for himself and tipping his arrows with fire;	13 אִם־לֹא יָשׁוּב חַרְבֹּו יִלְטֹושׁ קַשְׁתֹּו דָרַךְ וַיְכֹונְנֶהָ
14 look at him: pregnant with malice, conceiving spite, he gives birth to treachery.	14 וְלֹו הֵכִין כְּלֵי־מָוֶת חִצָּיו לְדֹלְקִים יִפְעָל
15 He digs a trap, scoops it out, but he fal s into the snare he made himself.	15 הִנֵּה יְחַבֶּל־אָוֶן וְהָרָה עָמָל וְיָלַד שָׁקֶר
16 His spite recoils on his own head, his brutality falls back on his own skul .	16 בֹּור כָּרָה וַיַּחְפְּרֵהוּ וַיִּפֹּל בְּשַׁחַת יִפְעָל
17 I thank Yahweh for his saving justice. I sing to the name of the Most High.	17 יָשׁוּב עֲמָלֹו בְרֹאשֹׁו וְעַל קָדְקֳדֹו חֲמָסֹו יֵרֵד
	18 אֹודֶה יְהוָה כְּצִדְקֹו וַאֲזַמְּרָה שֵׁם־יְהוָה עֶלְיֹון
	19 וּבָאוּ וְנָחוּ כֻלָּם בְּנַחֲלֵי הַבַּתֹּות וּבִנְקִיקֵי הַסְּלָעִים וּבְכֹל הַנַּעֲצוּצִים וּבְכֹל הַנַּהֲלֹלִים
	20 בַּיֹּום הַהוּא יְגַלַּח אֲדֹנָי בְּתַעַר הַשְּׂכִירָה בְּעֶבְרֵי נָהָר בְּמֶלֶךְ אַשּׁוּר אֶת־הָרֹאשׁ וְשַׂעַר הָרַגְלָיִם וְגַם אֶת־הַזָּקָן תִּסְפֶּה׃ ס
	21 וְהָיָה בַּיֹּום הַהוּא יְחַיֶּה־אִישׁ עֶגְלַת בָּקָר וּשְׁתֵּי־צֹאן
	22 וְהָיָה מֵרֹב עֲשֹׂות חָלָב יֹאכַל חֶמְאָה כִּי־חֶמְאָה וּדְבַשׁ יֹאכֵל כָּל־הַנֹּותָר בְּקֶרֶב הָאָרֶץ
	23 וְהָיָה בַּיֹּום הַהוּא יִהְיֶה כָל־מָקֹום אֲשֶׁר יִהְיֶה־שָּׁם אֶלֶף גֶּפֶן בְּאֶלֶף כָּסֶף לַשָּׁמִיר וְלַשַּׁיִת יִהְיֶה
	24 בַּחִצִּים וּבַקֶּשֶׁת יָבֹוא שָׁמָּה כִּי־שָׁמִיר וָשַׁיִת תִּהְיֶה כָל־הָאָרֶץ
	25 וְכֹל הֶהָרִים אֲשֶׁר בַּמַּעְדֵּר יֵעָדֵרוּן לֹא־תָבֹוא שָׁמָּה יִרְאַת שָׁמִיר וָשָׁיִת וְהָיָה לְמִשְׁלַח שֹׁור וּלְמִרְמַס שֶׂה׃ פ
