NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Shout for joy, you upright; praise comes wel from the honest.	1 Giubilate nel Signore, o giusti; ai retti s'addice la lode.
2 Give thanks to Yahweh on the lyre, play for him on the ten-stringed lyre.	2 Celebrate il Signore con la cetra, con l'arpa a dieci corde a lui inneggiate.
3 Sing to him a new song, make sweet music for your cry of victory.	3 Cantate a lui un cantico nuovo, salmodiate con arte in giubilo festoso.
4 The word of Yahweh is straightforward, al he does springs from his constancy.	4 Poiché retta è la parola del Signore e fedeltà ogni sua opera.
5 He loves uprightness and justice; the faithful love of Yahweh fil s the earth.	5 Egli ama la giustizia e l'equità; della misericordia del Signore è piena la terra.
6 By the word of Yahweh the heavens were made, by the breath of his mouth all their array.	6 Con la parola del Signore furon fatti i cieli e col soffio della sua bocca tutto il loro ornamento.
7 He collects the waters of the sea like a dam, he stores away the abyss in his treasure-house.	7 Egli riunì come in un otre le acque del mare, in serbatoi collocò gli abissi.
8 Let the whole earth fear Yahweh, let al who dwel in the world revere him;	8 Tema il Signore tutta la terra, lo riveriscano tutti gli abitanti del mondo;
9 for, the moment he spoke, it was so, no sooner had he commanded, than there it stood!	9 poiché egli parlò e fu fatto, egli comandò ed esso fu creato.
10 Yahweh thwarts the plans of nations, frustrates the counsels of peoples;	10 Sventa il Signore il piano dei popoli, rende vani i propositi delle nazioni.
11 but Yahweh's own plan stands firm for ever, his heart's counsel from age to age.	11 Il piano del Signore sussiste per sempre, il proposito del suo cuore di generazione in generazione.
12 How blessed the nation whose God is Yahweh, the people he has chosen as his heritage.	12 Beata la nazione il cui Dio è il Signore, il popolo ch'egli s'è scelto per eredità.
13 From heaven Yahweh looks down, he sees al the children of Adam,	13 Il Signore guarda dal cielo, osserva tutti i figli dell'uomo.

16 A large army wil not keep a king safe, nor his strength save a warrior's life;	16 Nessun re può salvarsi con la moltitudine dei suoi soldati; nessun prode trova scampo nell'abbondanza del suo vigore.
17 it is delusion to rely on a horse for safety, for all its power it cannot save.	17 Impotente è il cavallo a portar salvezza e scampo non può portare con l'abbondanza della sua forza.
18 But see how Yahweh watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his faithful love,	18 Ecco, l'occhio del Signore è sopra quelli che lo temono, su quelli che sperano nella sua misericordia,
19 to rescue them from death and keep them alive in famine.	19 per liberare dalla morte le loro anime, per farli sopravvivere in tempo di fame.
20 We are waiting for Yahweh; he is our help and our shield,	20 Verso il Signore anela l'anima nostra: egli è nostro aiuto e nostro scudo.
21 for in him our heart rejoices, in his holy name we trust.	21 Sì, in lui gioisce il nostro cuore; sì, noi confidiamo nel santo suo nome.
22 Yahweh, let your faithful love rest on us, as our hope has rested in you.	22 Sia su di noi, o Signore, la tua misericordia, poiché in te abbiamo posto la nostra fiducia.
