1 Shout for joy, you upright; praise comes wel from the honest.	1 Esultate, o giusti, nel Signore;per gli uomini retti è bella la lode.
2 Give thanks to Yahweh on the lyre, play for him on the ten-stringed lyre.	2 Lodate il Signore con la cetra,con l’arpa a dieci corde a lui cantate.
3 Sing to him a new song, make sweet music for your cry of victory.	3 Cantate al Signore un canto nuovo,con arte suonate la cetra e acclamate,
4 The word of Yahweh is straightforward, al he does springs from his constancy.	4 perché retta è la parola del Signoree fedele ogni sua opera.
5 He loves uprightness and justice; the faithful love of Yahweh fil s the earth.	5 Egli ama la giustizia e il diritto;dell’amore del Signore è piena la terra.
6 By the word of Yahweh the heavens were made, by the breath of his mouth all their array.	6 Dalla parola del Signore furono fatti i cieli,dal soffio della sua bocca ogni loro schiera.
7 He collects the waters of the sea like a dam, he stores away the abyss in his treasure-house.	7 Come in un otre raccoglie le acque del mare,chiude in riserve gli abissi.
8 Let the whole earth fear Yahweh, let al who dwel in the world revere him;	8 Tema il Signore tutta la terra,tremino davanti a lui gli abitanti del mondo,
9 for, the moment he spoke, it was so, no sooner had he commanded, than there it stood!	9 perché egli parlò e tutto fu creato,comandò e tutto fu compiuto.
10 Yahweh thwarts the plans of nations, frustrates the counsels of peoples;	10 Il Signore annulla i disegni delle nazioni,rende vani i progetti dei popoli.
11 but Yahweh's own plan stands firm for ever, his heart's counsel from age to age.	11 Ma il disegno del Signore sussiste per sempre,i progetti del suo cuore per tutte le generazioni.
12 How blessed the nation whose God is Yahweh, the people he has chosen as his heritage.	12 Beata la nazione che ha il Signore come Dio,il popolo che egli ha scelto come sua eredità.
13 From heaven Yahweh looks down, he sees al the children of Adam,	13 Il Signore guarda dal cielo:egli vede tutti gli uomini;
14 from the place where he sits he watches al who dwel on the earth;	14 dal trono dove siedescruta tutti gli abitanti della terra,
15 he alone moulds their hearts, he understands al they do.	15 lui, che di ognuno ha plasmato il cuoree ne comprende tutte le opere.
16 A large army wil not keep a king safe, nor his strength save a warrior's life;	16 Il re non si salva per un grande esercitoné un prode scampa per il suo grande vigore.
17 it is delusion to rely on a horse for safety, for all its power it cannot save.	17 Un’illusione è il cavallo per la vittoria,e neppure un grande esercito può dare salvezza.
18 But see how Yahweh watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his faithful love,	18 Ecco, l’occhio del Signore è su chi lo teme,su chi spera nel suo amore,
19 to rescue them from death and keep them alive in famine.	19 per liberarlo dalla mortee nutrirlo in tempo di fame.
20 We are waiting for Yahweh; he is our help and our shield,	20 L’anima nostra attende il Signore:egli è nostro aiuto e nostro scudo.
21 for in him our heart rejoices, in his holy name we trust.	21 È in lui che gioisce il nostro cuore,nel suo santo nome noi confidiamo.
22 Yahweh, let your faithful love rest on us, as our hope has rested in you.	22 Su di noi sia il tuo amore, Signore,come da te noi speriamo.
