1 Shout for joy, you upright; praise comes wel from the honest.	1 VOI giusti, giubilate nel Signore; La lode è decevole agli uomini diritti.
2 Give thanks to Yahweh on the lyre, play for him on the ten-stringed lyre.	2 Celebrate il Signore colla cetera; Salmeggiategli col saltero e col decacordo.
3 Sing to him a new song, make sweet music for your cry of victory.	3 Cantategli un nuovo cantico, Sonate maestrevolmente con giubilo.
4 The word of Yahweh is straightforward, al he does springs from his constancy.	4 Perciocchè la parola del Signore è diritta; E tutte le sue opere son fatte con verità.
5 He loves uprightness and justice; the faithful love of Yahweh fil s the earth.	5 Egli ama la giustizia e la dirittura; La terra è piena della benignità del Signore.
6 By the word of Yahweh the heavens were made, by the breath of his mouth all their array.	6 I cieli sono stati fatti per la parola del Signore, E tutto il loro esercito per lo soffio della sua bocca.
7 He collects the waters of the sea like a dam, he stores away the abyss in his treasure-house.	7 Egli ha adunate le acque del mare come in un mucchio; Egli ha riposti gli abissi come in tesori.
8 Let the whole earth fear Yahweh, let al who dwel in the world revere him;	8 Tutta la terra tema del Signore; Abbianne spavento tutti gli abitanti del mondo.
9 for, the moment he spoke, it was so, no sooner had he commanded, than there it stood!	9 Perciocchè egli disse la parola, e la cosa fu; Egli comandò, e la cosa surse.
10 Yahweh thwarts the plans of nations, frustrates the counsels of peoples;	10 Il Signore dissipa il consiglio delle genti, Ed annulla i pensieri de’ popoli.
11 but Yahweh's own plan stands firm for ever, his heart's counsel from age to age.	11 Il consiglio del Signore dimora in eterno; I pensieri del suo cuore dimorano per ogni età
12 How blessed the nation whose God is Yahweh, the people he has chosen as his heritage.	12 Beata la gente di cui il Signore è l’Iddio; Beato il popolo, il quale egli ha eletto per sua eredità.
13 From heaven Yahweh looks down, he sees al the children of Adam,	13 Il Signore riguarda dal cielo, Egli vede tutti i figliuoli degli uomini.
14 from the place where he sits he watches al who dwel on the earth;	14 Egli mira, dalla stanza del suo seggio, Tutti gli abitanti della terra.

16 A large army wil not keep a king safe, nor his strength save a warrior's life;	16 Il re non è salvato per grandezza di esercito; L’uomo prode non iscampa per grandezza di forza.
17 it is delusion to rely on a horse for safety, for all its power it cannot save.	17 Il cavallo è cosa fallace per salvare, E non può liberare colla grandezza della sua possa.
18 But see how Yahweh watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his faithful love,	18 Ecco, l’occhio del Signore è inverso quelli che lo temono; Inverso quelli che sperano nella sua benignità;
19 to rescue them from death and keep them alive in famine.	19 Per riscuoter l’anima loro dalla morte, E per conservarli in vita in tempo di fame.
20 We are waiting for Yahweh; he is our help and our shield,	20 L’anima nostra attende il Signore; Egli è il nostro aiuto, e il nostro scudo.
21 for in him our heart rejoices, in his holy name we trust.	21 Certo, il nostro cuore si rallegrerà in lui; Perciocchè noi ci siam confidati nel Nome della sua santità.
22 Yahweh, let your faithful love rest on us, as our hope has rested in you.	22 La tua benignità, o Signore, sia sopra noi, Siccome noi abbiamo sperato in te
