Psalms 33

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Shout for joy, you upright; praise comes wel from the honest.	1 Aclamen, justos, al Señor; es propio de los buenos alabarlo.
2 Give thanks to Yahweh on the lyre, play for him on the ten-stringed lyre.	2 Alaben al Señor con la cítara, toquen en su honor el arpa de diez cuerdas;
3 Sing to him a new song, make sweet music for your cry of victory.	3 entonen para él un canto nuevo, toquen con arte, profiriendo aclamaciones.
4 The word of Yahweh is straightforward, al he does springs from his constancy.	4 Porque la palabra del Señor es recta y él obra siempre con lealtad;
5 He loves uprightness and justice; the faithful love of Yahweh fil s the earth.	5 él ama la justicia y el derecho, y la tierra está llena de su amor.
6 By the word of Yahweh the heavens were made, by the breath of his mouth all their array.	6 La palabra del Señor hizo el cielo, y el aliento de su boca, los ejércitos celestiales;
7 He collects the waters of the sea like a dam, he stores away the abyss in his treasure-house.	7 él encierra en un cántaro las aguas del mar y pone en un depósito las olas del océano.
8 Let the whole earth fear Yahweh, let al who dwel in the world revere him;	8 Que toda la tierra tema al Señor, y tiemblen ante él los habitantes del mundo;
9 for, the moment he spoke, it was so, no sooner had he commanded, than there it stood!	9 porque él lo dijo, y el mundo existió, él dio una orden, y todo subsiste.
10 Yahweh thwarts the plans of nations, frustrates the counsels of peoples;	10 El Señor frustra el designio de las naciones y deshace los planes de los pueblos,
11 but Yahweh's own plan stands firm for ever, his heart's counsel from age to age.	11 pero el designio del Señor permanece para siempre, y sus planes, a lo largo de las generaciones.
12 How blessed the nation whose God is Yahweh, the people he has chosen as his heritage.	12 ¡Feliz la nación cuyo Dios es el Señor, el pueblo que él se eligió como herencia!
13 From heaven Yahweh looks down, he sees al the children of Adam,	13 El Señor observa desde el cielo y contempla a todos los hombres;
14 from the place where he sits he watches al who dwel on the earth;	14 él mira desde su trono a todos los habitantes de la tierra;
15 he alone moulds their hearts, he understands al they do.	15 modela el corazón de cada uno y conoce a fondo todas sus acciones.
16 A large army wil not keep a king safe, nor his strength save a warrior's life;	16 El rey no vence por su mucha fuerza ni se libra el guerrero por su gran vigor;
17 it is delusion to rely on a horse for safety, for all its power it cannot save.	17 de nada sirven los caballos para la victoria: a pesar de su fuerza no pueden salvar.
18 But see how Yahweh watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his faithful love,	18 Los ojos del Señor están fijos sobre sus fieles, sobre los que esperan en su misericordia,
19 to rescue them from death and keep them alive in famine.	19 para librar sus vidas de la muerte y sustentarlos en el tiempo de indigencia.
20 We are waiting for Yahweh; he is our help and our shield,	20 Nuestra alma espera en el Señor; él es nuestra ayuda y nuestro escudo.
21 for in him our heart rejoices, in his holy name we trust.	21 Nuestro corazón se regocija en él: nosotros confiamos en su santo Nombre.
22 Yahweh, let your faithful love rest on us, as our hope has rested in you.	22 Señor, que tu amor descienda sobre nosotros, conforme a la esperanza que tenemos en ti.
