1 [For the choirmaster Psalm Of David] Rescue me, Yahweh, from evil men, protect me from violentmen,	1 Al maestro del coro. Salmo. Di Davide.
2 whose heart is bent on malice, day after day they harbour strife;	2 Liberami, Signore, dall’uomo malvagio,proteggimi dall’uomo violento,
3 their tongues as barbed as a serpent's, viper's venom behind their lips.Pause	3 da quelli che tramano cose malvagie nel cuoree ogni giorno scatenano guerre.
4 Keep me, Yahweh, from the clutches of the wicked, protect me from violent men, who are bent onmaking me stumble,laying out snares where I walk,	4 Aguzzano la lingua come serpenti,veleno di vipera è sotto le loro labbra.
5 in their arrogance hiding pitfal and nooseto trap me as I pass.Pause	5 Proteggimi, Signore, dalle mani dei malvagi,salvami dall’uomo violento:essi tramano per farmi cadere.
6 I said to Yahweh, 'You are my God.' Listen, Yahweh, to the sound of my prayer.	6 I superbi hanno nascosto lacci e funi,hanno teso una rete sul mio sentieroe contro di me hanno preparato agguati.
7 Yahweh my Lord, my saving strength, you shield my head when battle comes.	7 Io dico al Signore: tu sei il mio Dio;ascolta, Signore, la voce della mia supplica.
8 Yahweh, do not grant the wicked their wishes, do not let their plots succeed.Pause Do not let myattackers	8 Signore Dio, forza che mi salva,proteggi il mio capo nel giorno della lotta.
9 prevail, but let them be overwhelmed by their own malice.	9 Non soddisfare, Signore, i desideri dei malvagi,non favorire le loro trame.Alzano
10 May red-hot embers rain down on them, may they be flung into the mire once and for all.	10 la testa quelli che mi circondano;ma la malizia delle loro labbra li sommerga!
11 May the slanderer find no rest anywhere, may evil hunt down violent men implacably.	11 Piovano su di loro carboni ardenti;gettali nella fossa e più non si rialzino.
12 I know that Yahweh wil give judgement for the wretched, justice for the needy.	12 L’uomo maldicente non duri sulla terra,il male insegua l’uomo violento fino alla rovina.
13 The upright shal praise your name, the honest dwel in your presence.	13 So che il Signore difende la causa dei poveri,il diritto dei bisognosi.
	14 Sì, i giusti loderanno il tuo nome,gli uomini retti abiteranno alla tua presenza.
