Psalms 139

NEW JERUSALEM	KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA
1 [For the choirmaster Of David Psalm] Yahweh, you examine me and know me,	1 A karvezetőnek. Dávid zsoltára. Uram, te megvizsgáltál és ismersz engem,
2 you know when I sit, when I rise, you understand my thoughts from afar.	2 tudod, ha leülök és ha fölkelek. Messziről ismered gondolataimat,
3 You watch when I walk or lie down, you know every detail of my conduct.	3 szemmel tartod akár járok-kelek, akár pihenek. Előre ismered minden utamat.
4 A word is not yet on my tongue before you, Yahweh, know all about it.	4 Még nyelvemen sincs a szó, és te már érted egészen, Uram.
5 You fence me in, behind and in front, you have laid your hand upon me.	5 Minden oldalról körülveszel engem, és fölöttem tartod kezedet.
6 Such amazing knowledge is beyond me, a height to which I cannot attain.	6 Oly nagy, oly csodálatos nekem ez a tudás: ésszel föl sem érhetem!
7 Where shall I go to escape your spirit? Where shall I flee from your presence?	7 Hová mehetnék lelked elől, hová bújhatnék színed elől?
8 If I scale the heavens you are there, if I lie flat in Sheol, there you are.	8 Ha fölmennék az ég magasába, te ott vagy, ha alászállnék az alvilágba, jelen vagy.
9 If I speed away on the wings of the dawn, if I dwel beyond the ocean,	9 Ha felölteném a hajnal szárnyát, s a tenger szélső határára szöknék,
10 even there your hand will be guiding me, your right hand holding me fast.	10 ott is a te kezed vezetne, és jobbod tartana engem.
11 I will say, 'Let the darkness cover me, and the night wrap itself around me,'	11 Mondhatnám: »Borítson be a sötétség, s váljon éjszakává köröttem a fény«,
12 even darkness to you is not dark, and night is as clear as the day.	12 de neked nem sötét a sötétség, s az éj mint a nappal, oly világos előtted. Fény és sötétség közt neked nincs különbség.
13 You created my inmost self, knit me together in my mother's womb.	13 Hiszen te formáltad bensőm, s anyám méhében te szőtted a testem.
14 For so many marvels I thank you; a wonder am I, and al your works are wonders. You knew methrough and through,	14 Dicsőítlek téged, mert olyan csodálatosan alkottál, és tudom jól, milyen csodálatos minden műved!
15 my being held no secrets from you, when I was being formed in secret, textured in the depths of theearth.	15 Létem nem volt titokban előtted, amikor a föld ölén rejtve formálódtam.
16 Your eyes could see my embryo. In your book all my days were inscribed, every one that was fixedis there.	16 Még alakot sem nyertek tagjaim és szemed már látott engem. Könyvedben már minden fel volt jegyezve rólam: napjaim már eltervezted, mielőtt egy is eltelt volna belőlük.
17 How hard for me to grasp your thoughts, how many, God, there are!	17 Milyen tiszteletreméltók előttem gondolataid, Istenem, milyen hatalmas a számuk!
18 If I count them, they are more than the grains of sand; if I come to an end, I am stil with you.	18 Megszámlálnám őket, de számosabbak a homokszemeknél, s ha végükre is érnék, még mindig csak nálad tartanék.
19 If only, God, you would kil the wicked!-Men of violence, keep away from me!-	19 Bárcsak megsemmisítenéd a gonoszokat, Istenem, és eltávolítanád tőlem a vérszomjas embereket,
20 those who speak blasphemously about you, and take no account of your thoughts.	20 akik gonoszul beszélnek: hiába kelnek föl ellened.
21 Yahweh, do I not hate those who hate you, and loathe those who defy you?	21 Ne gyűlöljem, Uram azokat, akik gyűlölnek téged, ne utáljam ellenségeidet?
22 My hate for them has no limits, I regard them as my own enemies.	22 Teljes gyűlölettel gyűlölöm őket, ellenségeim lettek.
23 God, examine me and know my heart, test me and know my concerns.	23 Vizsgálj meg Istenem és ismerd meg szívemet; tégy próbára és ismerd meg utaimat,
24 Make sure that I am not on my way to ruin, and guide me on the road of eternity.	24 lásd, vajon a gonoszok útján járok-e, és vezess az örökkévalóság útján engem.
